You know, looking at this map made me realize how much i want more games set in Thedas, because there are still so many places we haven't visited. Hopefuly, DAVe will be successful enough that we will see Dragon Age V.

after Origins infuriated me by crashing for the nth time, That sounds really frustrating, especially as Origins is my favorite of the series. Is this a PC related issue? I actually keep projects and play separate, so I only game on consoles. My fully functional PS3 still runs my Origins and Awakenings discs like a champ (though, I did have to replace the battery on the motherboard last year).

Frankly if it was old computer Origins would run better. If I had an xbox I would def play Origins through their service, it runs well there.

Had a lot of time using any of the combos in God of War or HFW.

I imagine there's only so many you will end up picking up unless you're collecting them like candy lol... these don't look like they have cooldowns so taking more than one or two would be inefficient.

Looks cool as hell and thought it would be some sort of shield. It does look cool AF. And goes to show how, even though we have fewer active spell slots - when you consider all the Passives and Traits, Fade Step, the magic bubble/block, Ultimates, Runes... all of which can really change how you play and totally look like spells themselves, we end up with the same number of abilities/moves (potentially more) as like, Inquisition. They're just executed differently, in real-time, fluidly and involving skill, strategy, muscle memory... really getting into things, knowing your build, your gear and all that you become capable of. NGL, I love it.

NGL, I love it. It certainly has a lot of potential. Also the more I look at hip firing bows the more I am convinced it does an auto lock thing and then you can aim if you want by holding it down. Can't wait to try it and for the most part seems like they are doing a lot of ARPG tropes right. Actually also really like how they handle active blocking since ARPGs most of them rely on opponent's light attacks and heavy attacks, light you can dodge or block, heavy you have to get out of the way of. Its interesting but never made much sense to me. God of War Ragnarok added different styles of attack into the system that you would have to worry about. But here, if I read/ inerpreted right, the blocking is based on timing. Which makes way more sense to me. Or in other words if you block an attack too early, you can do it, if you block it just right maybe you can counter attack it, but the longer you wait the more likely you will have to dodge because of course you do.

Especially big for rogues considering Rogues are all about mobility and I believe some of the build vids and stuff talked about Rogues generating momentum via blocking and parrying. On the negative front something I am annoyed by so far there just seems to be only one major finisher in the entire game which seems pretty universal, at least for Rogues and Warriors. Also really annoyed we don't get bow finishers like this: Wonder if they will be open to adding more later... And holy crap I never even seen that second one.

Nothing can make up for reducing mage’s abilities to only 3. I really hate Veilguard’s combat design for mages.

Nothing can make up for reducing mage’s abilities to only 3. I really hate Veilguard’s combat design for mages. I just can't agree with this sentiment at all given all the combat videos we've seen. Fade Step, Barrier, Mind Blast, Spirit Blade, etc have all been rolled into the default abilities. They added additional abilities like Arcane Mark/Bomb detonation. They let mages use a parry "active" (an ability previously limited to warriors/rogues). They let you do a beam attack and chain attacks which make up for the AFK staff auto attack of previous games, effectively filling in roles for what actives can do. The abilities are just a small piece of the puzzle, and this is before you consider ultimates and rune actives. One rune is basically just Cone of Cold in a circle. Another is basically akin to weapon actives from DAO. All in all, you not only have more build variety, but nothing is stopping you from slotting in abilities that work in different missions. In DA2/DAI some mobs were basically immune to some elements on Nightmare (the difficulty I'll probably play in), so like here you'll just not slot in stuff that is useless/weak (assuming you dont use the runesto override element types).
