Purple is a range of colors, lavender is a shade of purple. (also, lavender isn't Veilguard's color, lavender is light blueish purple, while Veilguard is more of a mix between amethyst purple, HTML/CSS purple and cardinal - since it is, in reality, supposed to represent a relatively uneven mix between blue and red) Picky Picky It's an artist thing

The color here appears to be tied to the lore and story. It is now but I'm pretty sure it didn't have to be. It is a design choice. Their original logo connected with the game in 2020 was in gold and black but then they changed it when they announced the original name of Dreadwolf and have run with it ever since even when they changed it to Veilguard. I'll be very surprised if there is an actual reason given in game that is lore consistent why purple is the colour of the Veilguard. If I can ask dev for one small new feature, I will ask for option to choose theme colour. Same here. I've criticised the saturation of everything with purple but not because I don't like the colour normally (which I do - I have clothes in exactly the same colour), just because I find it overdone. When the characters' hair, clothing and everything about them on the character screens is heavily tinged purple, I find it annoying. When every card and codex seems to be coloured this deep, vibrant purple colour it starts to grate on me. I can't explain why, it just does. If they could just tone it down a bit or there was an option to do so, I would be okay with it, but there isn't. That said, you can at least change the background and lighting during character creator, which I shall do so at every opportunity. Do you suppose it is possible to leave it adjusted that way for the character screens during the game?

It seems that younger males are less prejudiced against purple than old farts. Nice to see prejudice alive and well against the older generation. May be the ones who don't like purple can't help it but their brains are just wired that way. Or may be it's because it is associated with royalty and they are republicans. See my post above for why the colour theme of Veilguard is a negative for me. I like purple normally and my favourite outfit is exactly the same shade of purple as Veilguard. However, I don't wear it everyday but on special occasions or when I am going out somewhere and want to be noticed. You see, it isn't very practical and does make you stand out in company. It is precisely not the sort of colour I would choose if I want to move through the world undetected. Then again, most of the companions seem to be wearing outfits that just scream "look at me". So, I guess stealth and subterfuge are not going to be our strong points.

The colour of the marketing and menus doesn't really inspire any passion in me for or against tbh.
