I'm getting "get out of the Hinterlands" flashbacks with Act One. There's no point in doing this now, but I can't help not exploring.

Reminds me of TLOU2 situation. The main sub got brigaded hard. If BSN were still here today, it'd be the same there.

I had to leave a forums where I hanged out a few years ago, because the BioWare hate caused by DA2 release never abated there and just increased with every new BioWar news release. I came here full time instead.

DA2 is technically my favorite game of the series, well act 1 and 2, I find the 3rd act boring. 

Origins aged very badly so it was already at the bottom before Veilguard released.
That means Veilguard and DAI are fighting for #2 spot and Veilguard is probably winning that. Althought, both are mix-bags, for different gameplay related reasons and maybe similar ones too (like "it's too big!").

it really is too early to know what it's reception is in the general market place. I've seen a lot of positive and negative criticism, but I’ve only seen those with negative opinions assume their opinion is some standard or point to itself to justify dislike for the game.

Just feel like I sometimes vacilate with this game. Like I don't pay much attention to criticism and then I have a rougher night with it where I am not enjoying things as much so its like 'oh god have i underestimated how bad this game actually is, will I eat crow?' but then read through some comments, have debates, and then come back out and have a much better night where stuff that was mentioned is directly contradicted and I enjoy it...which brings up its own worries but as I have said in another comment I am starting to think this game is actually very deep and I will definitley rate it highly. 

And like its weird think this might have been the only new release I have played this year? But man if it isn't hitting most of the right notes.

I need at least GOTY nomination, not for BioWare's sake but to piss off the irrational haters.

No game is flawless though. The point is to judge a game by how much "fun" it has. 

I've been an ardent defender of the game here but I have my issues with the game.

I dislike most of the armor set visuals (thankfully Warden heavies look good).
I think the loot chests in timed/critical missions are terrible for pacing/immersion.
I believe there could have been more local exposition of cultures.
I feel the pacing between companion quests could have been done better.
Etc.
Etc.

But I think it has an interesting plot.
I thought the settings were the best in the series.
I think combat is the best BioWare has ever done. 
I love how they more or less credibly tied up most plot threads since DAO. That's incredibly hard to do.
I love Alex Jordan's VA for male Rook. Best in the series.
Davrin is the hottest male LI since Alistair and Kaidan for me.

I can continue to praise it or critique it but overall I walked away having had *fun*. That's what matters.

It's why I've been saying that people are just being uncharitable about DAVG, even people who may dislike it overall in good faith. Things that didn't matter in other games or were acceptable in others are apparently groundbreaking issues in DAVG. That's what pisses me off. Not that they dislike it.

And the worst part is, even those that like it feel like they have to justify why they like it. That's what happens when something is inundated with bad opinions and terrible takes. It's, ironically, like a blight that corrupts everything about a game. I loathe it.

So far, I do not get the impression that DAtV should not be nominated for GOTY, but that it should be nominated for RPG of the year (but not win).
