At this point we need to hear from BioWare execs. Come out and say we are happy with the success. At this point we hear from larian people etc. I’d like planned roundtables from the cast. We got some of this in dai with the iron bull actor etc. BioWare really needs to setup the after game stuff

"Sure, I *can* write him... but comedy isn't science. I need to find him funny. If I write him, the only comedy I'll mine is where he makes fun of himself." James took that on board and then passed the character onto someone else. The result? Oghren. I laughed so hard. Thank you Gaider for saying no. Some people shouldn't be creative director.
I need to digress. See, at the time James had this (regrettable) period where he believed everything could be derived from a formula. This isn't directing. He is imprisoning the creative mind of the writer. You can give a little back ground or the gender, but not the character of the character.

There's SteamDB activity on the next #Veilguard update. Maybe Thursday again next week? 🤔

Got a game update... at least that's what the EA App said... took a while to download. Having said that, I'm actively engaged in a side-quest to clear the Crossroads from corruption. Super annoying... It's a 3d chess game-like.... running back-&-forth... very tiresome.
This reminds me of a certain area in DAI..... Isn't that one best handled by just hitting the targets when you run into them while doing something else?

There is a survey on Dragon Age Subreddit about Veilguard. There are around 1,800 responses so far. It contains spoilers btw. The results have lots of detail, but I've summarized some: - Demographics: 53% women, 41% men, 6% non-binary
- 51% play as elves. Women and non-binary people prefer playing as elves, while men prefer humans.
- All genders prefer playing as a mage. But the preference is weaker in men.
- Men prefer choosing Grey Warden as faction background, while women and non-binary people prefer Shadow Dragon.
- Emmrich is the most popular and highest rated companion, while Taash is rated lowest. This is true in all three demographics.
- The companion that is considered "Biggest disappointment" is Lucanis. This is true in all three demographics.
- Non-binary people rate the game highest, while men rate the game lowest. The average score is 3.4 out of 5.
- Combats and environments are highly rated, while writing and music have the lowest scores.

3.4 out of 5 is practically the same as BSN's score btw. So all the people here who say "oh BSN is so negative, I'm going to the reddit now because it's so much more positive" ... wooow lies! People across the board are rating it around 66-68% and I fully expect Steam to settle here also

And in comparison to the amateur Internet survey based on 1,800 self-reported DA players? Like... how is it that more concrete metrics - like sales charts - are overly-analyzed to try and get a realistic picture of DAVe's success, but one small survey on Reddit is apparently the true and indisputable sentiment of "people across the board"?

You can keep arguing that the scores aren't comprehensive all you want, and all day long. But Reddit scores the game at 68%, BSN scores it about the same, and Steam's about to dip out of Mostly Positive and into mixed. Almost every metric on consumer sentiment say the same thing. When the game first released it was "79% positive on Steam, watch it increase as people finish the game". When BSN's poll first came out it was "watch it increase as people finish the game". And they haven't increased. If anything scores have stayed the same and on Steam have steadily crept down. It doesn't take much to notice trends

Steamdb is usually about a day before Steam updates it, it seems to update more regularly. About 4 or 5 days ago it was 71.3% ish. So it'll likely hit 70% (once it dips below 70.5) in a few days and then 1 more percentage point and it goes yellow. Yeah. It's teetering. The thing is it;s been steadily down, it hasn't gone up at all.

Like, the whole thing is so preposterous I'm not going to argue anything, because there's no point.

Go and vote! xD The poll's in the "what do people think of Dragon Age" thread. I've been calculating the percentages, it started off around 68% after 40 votes. And people were saying "don't worry it will go up" so I've been providing steady updates. Every time I have BSN's vote is consistently between 66 and 68% which is hilarious to me, that it keeps so steady. 180 votes now. Go add to it EDIT: It's the DA fans, what do you think so far of the game? thread

I track it because it's fun. I find it hilarious that now 3 different voting systems are returning results so similar to one another. So Steam is positive and negative only, BSN is a straight poll and Reddit is an average over many different categories. And BSN is 67%, Reddit was between 67 and 68%, and Steam is 70.75%. That too me is hilariously intriguing. So I keep track of it because it makes me laugh, though it might bore other people. That being said Veilguard needs to keep out of the yellow ratings. It's a psychological barrier for people and it's been marching steadily towards it since release.

Wooooow 17k people daily concurrent still. Add in consoles and you're looking at hundreds of thousands of people still playing daily O.O

If you go to Steamdb you'll see it's 70.75%. If you go to Steamdb and sign in, you can see that VG is steady at 71.8% positive votes and has not moved in four days. Hmmmm, adding the cumulative over the past 4 days, 1200 people votes at 70.4% You're right. Looks like it's stabilizing at 71%. Nice! It desperately needs to stay green
