Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes Game writing means poring over the cast list for any animated show you watch to jot down the names of people who had good line delivery while voicing a catgirl.
I suppose they haven't defined what the Fex look like. I was thinking they'd be lizard people, but since Par Vollen is all jungles, cat people would work, too.
My guess is he's thinking about casting AJ Michalka for something. (Or at least passing on her name to the people who actually do the casting. That's how Eve Myles ended up playing Merrill - David Gaider was keen on her doing the job and she actually said yes when the appropriate people at BioWare asked her agent.)
I too suspect it may be about potential VA talent. I was just making a joke Though... with snake people and race with dragon characteristics and shapeshifters one can never be sure whether there aren't cat-people there somewhere

“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”
I don't think it's that literal, though, but more along the lines of someone being convincing when playing a character that you wouldn't expect to take seriously because at first glance they might be ridiculous. Or someone who gives 120% without any inhibitions.
Like Matt Mercer whenever he makes all his monster sounds.
That, or Thundercats for DA4 #semiconfirmedrumour

Sounds like he's watching the new She-Ra cartoon? I haven't seen it, but I know there's a catgirl

Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes As I appear to have accidentally caused concern and speculation:
1) Not specific to game I’m on now. 2) I am not writing a catgirl in Dragon Age. 3) Yes, it was Catra, whose actor is great and also does Stevonnie on Steven Universe. 4) I AM NOT WRITING A CATGIRL IN DRAGON AGE.

Anyone else is annoyed by their cat&mouse game? They show teaser, spend a week afterwards explaining about next DA, how they have been secretly working on it for quite some time, announce dev team who has been working on it, have a bunch of game devs tweet about working day of writing/design and now: "actually, we didn't announce anything, didn't specify that we are working at any game yada yada". I understand that there are legal stuff, things they can say and absolutely can not- but after teaser, their official statement on bioware.com it's so unnecessary to pretend like nothing is going on. I'd rather they stay silent than tease us like this. (I may come off as overreacting but man, anyone who remembers MEA and their soon tag (which means a complete disaster of marketing and PR for a game) can relate)

Nothing you say will convince twitter to go with you. She loves only me now. I am her friend, while you are just a stranger.

Twitter's reaction has been awesome. I expect a petition for Catgirls in DA4! before the day is out.

a.) legal reasons aside...
b.) they announced DA at the end of the year. Then everybody had a holiday break, plus - as far as we know - they are moving to a new building right about now,
c.) Anthem is going to launch a month from now. It's an absolute priority both for Bioware as well as EA and they likely don't want to distract from it too much.

Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes The support of my fellow writers and editors means so much to me in this “getting ratio’d about catgirls” time.

Melissa Davidson deedlite But Patrick - think of the possibilities, nyaaaa!?

Yeah. And technically, the trailer we got is considered a non-specific teaser, not an official announcement of a new game (due to Point "A").
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes PS: @bbattye is a wonderful person and a great writer, and I am not ACTUALLY going to turn a character she’s working on into a catgirl.
Probably.
John Epler @eplerjc Unpredictable world out there, Patrick. No telling what might happen.

Well. All right then. *tents fingers*
