Y'all probably killed several hundred animals for crafting materials in DAI, and now you're blanching at the description of roasted nug? The sound you hear is the anguished cries of a a hundred dead snoufleurs screaming “What the shit, dude?” I killed bears, tyvm.
Its more the idea of eating nugs at all. Its the hands thing. Weirds me out. Also the fact they're essentially naked mole rats.

I crafted with whatever I had gotten from drops in self defense. DAI was never difficult enough to need to farm. While you did so for good reasons, I still don't think it counts as "self-defence" when you're, say, venturing into the den of a pack of wolves or intruding into the territory of a high dragon.
"Yes, I killed that man, your Honour, but it was in self-defence." "You were breaking into his home." "Sure, but I only intended to rob him. The situation only escalated when he pulled a knife on me."

The situation only escalated when he pulled a knife on me." I don't honestly understand what you're trying to argue. Regardless of their true existence, I don't enjoy descriptions of butchering/cooking of cute animals. I especially found it jarring that they started with the "they're meat! Yum!" Followed by a reminder that we may like them as pets. The dissonance struck me. Whether or not I try to play as some sort of vegan Inquisitor in a medieval ish world that drowns in leather is irrelevant to my being jarred by the tweet.

The situation only escalated when he pulled a knife on me." I don't honestly understand what you're trying to argue. I thought it was self-explanatory. You can't say you're "acting in self-defence" when you intrude into an animal's lair and kill it, as you likely did during the Trouble with Wolves side quest or when you slew any high dragon other than Corypheus' drago. It might have been necessary or even the right thing to do, but it wasn't self-defence. In fact, I’m pretty sure it counts as a violation of Vegandian Law.
Anyways, that's enough on that subject.

Here's the full concept art image: I was wondering if BW was going to introduce the Evanuris in this one, or save them for the next. This one looks like one of the Ghilan'nain sea monsters, or one of her Horrors from one of the other sites like Hormak.

SimplyRas @simply_rassyAlso the concept art of the “Gods” note looks like it’s coming out of water, maybe the sea? Giving me vibes from Horrors of Hormak so maybe Ghilain’nain? - Okay, this is the first we've seen of the creature's head. Yeah, that could be Ghilain’nain herself!

- Okay, this is the first we've seen of the creature's head. Yeah, that could be Ghilain’nain herself! Gosh you could be right about that. That looks too humanoid to be just any old sea monster, although the monsters in Horror of Hormack were a hybrid of humanoid and creature, so it could just be one of those. It's big though. It's also carrying a spear and Andruil was known for her spear.

It's been quite a bit of time since I played Awakening... May the Mother and the Architect actually be "changed" darkspawn like the ones in the Horror of Hormak? Still, I have my doubt is a coincidence.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Some correlation between the Darkspawn and Ghilan'nain? There have been plenty of hints there could be a link between the Evanuris and the Blight so why not the darkspawn as well? It would make sense that the original broodmother was one of Ghilan'nain's experiments that was locked away in the depths, only the be released when the seal was broken on its prison by the Magisters breaking into the Black City. The Ancient Thaig also pre-dated that period and since the idol is known to Solas, must have dated back to the time that Mythal and the other Evanuris were running around in the Deep Roads. Since red lyrium is infected with the Blight, it would seem it has been around from their time. Remember that "Pride" also stayed Ghilan'nain's hand so she didn't destroy her sea monsters, so it could still be that this is an aquatic broodmother.
