Gem @gemma_m_storey Well, the 25 years of @bioware book arrived. There are small art preview sections for the new ME and DA4 at the end of the book.
Look at this DA4 snippet:
Gotta love how it says "the Evil gods". As opposed to the "not evil" gods, of which we know none. lol
Or at least the "neutral" gods, I suppose. Its deliciously ambiguous cus the Forgotten Ones are almost certainly gonna have a side in this, but will they be evil or not? And which is the more expected? That they actually be evil or that they be maligned as evil and it turns out "Nah, they're actually ok, the Dalish had it kinda wrong again."? I mean, it *is* notable that Solas never mentions a second faction when he talks about why he formed the veil and what he did. Its always just the one "evanuris" group mentioned. Is he including the Forgotten Ones in that group that killed Mythal? Is he not mentioning them b/c they had nothing to do with his motives and any sealing away of them anywhere was just collateral damage? Is he not mentioning them cus he's actively hiding information about them?

I think its one of the themes of DA that those with power are kind of crap. I have little doubt that the Forgotten Ones are worse. Now the Titans might be an exception though. Might be.

Its interesting that ‘The Evil Gods’ is capitalised...just a strange stylistic choice or is it a rather lame title we give the Evanuris or something

"The Evil Gods have Thedas in their sights" Sounds like they're trying to be general to cover all the gods that Thedas has to deal with, which so far has been: the Old Gods rising as arch demons to lead the blight, Hakkon Winterbreath and the Dread Wolf. For all we know the rest of the evanuris, the forgotten ones, the titans, spirit-gods of the avvar and Rivain, and gods we don't even know about yet do aswell. That's alot of pantheons, not all of whoms every member might be evil, easier to just say "evil gods"

It's not a stylistic choice. It's a band. Bards confirmed for DA4! 😂

I would love to hear Solas sing in game, tbh. If it's anything like Blue Gillespie, it would be a very different sound for Thedas, for sure.
Ooo can Gareth sing? I must investigate this. I do know he can narrate the hell out of a Cthulu book, though.
EDIT:
Ok I found it. Hard to tell with the audio quality, but I think he can carry a tune. Good to know.
He is (was? their latest album was released in 2012) lead singer in his own band, Blue Gillespie. You can find some of their music on YouTube. It's kind of... heavy rock progressive metal (that's how they self-describe on their website). Definitely not anything Maryden would sing. ^-^
SimplyRas @simply_rassy Also the concept art of the “Gods” note looks like it’s coming out of water, maybe the sea? Giving me vibes from Horrors of Hormak so maybe Ghilain’nain?
- Okay, this is the first we've seen of the creature's head. Yeah, that could be Ghilain’nain herself!
Now we know why Deep Roads are so freaking huge in height

So now that The Last Court is gone, they said that there would be a way for people who never finished it to unlock the rewards in the Career section of the Keep. I looked for it, but am not seeing anything. Anyone know what they were talking about?
One day, the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part, and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see. -Sandal Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a world to save. Again. -Inquisitor
seb hanlon @hanlsp Dragon Age: Inquisition launched 6 years ago today.
My strongest memory of the launch, though, was the week before—Nov 11—when the review embargo came off. I was in Montreal at a conference, all nerves, refreshing between panels on my phone as reviews and scores went up.
Fresh in my mind was the DA2 launch; the kind of thing that carves a groove in your memory.
DAI had been 3 years of heavy sledding—1st BW title on Frostbite, first on Gen4, 1st on 5 platforms, 1st open world at scale. So many steps to climb; so many chances to slip and fall.
… and then the lights go down, the curtains part, and the team holds their breath.
What’s the world gonna say this time?
I was standing in the Palais de Congres, scrolling and refreshing, watching the reviews and scores come in.
It looked good! Was it safe to hope?
… more reviews. More scores. It’s holding. Holy smokes…
I texted some pals back in Edmonton.
“We did it, guys.
We’re home.”
It was a hard road for the team to get there, and just as hard personally—leaving marks I’d still be finding over the following years—but we made it.
There’s blood, souls, joy, tears, and muscle burned for fuel in every inch of that game. We launched it with every stick of fuel we had in the shop.
It’s the game that made me a lead, made me a designer, and it started for me coming back 3 weeks after my son was born.
For some folks, it’s their favorite of the DA games; others prefer DA2 or Origins, for personal reasons. Each game does things a bit differently.
Inquisition’s the only one I can whistle the title melody to, though. There’s bits of that game under my skin I’ll never get out.
Happy 6th anniversary, DAI; happy anniversary to the comrades who made it so, through the flood, fire, and famine.
Happy anniversary, most of all, to the players we made it for. I’m glad you liked it.
Happy Birthday DAI! I'm in the middle of another PT right now (finally doing the Solas romance and also my first with Loghain alive).
It's still the last time I've been truly excited about a game at its release. When I finished the character creation I freaked out over how hideous my character was that I missed the cut scenes and had to shut off the game and restart.
Playing again now, I think it holds up fairly well, although many of the problems I've had with it still stick out (side quests, zoomed out camera, some of the combat design).
I can't say I expected 6 years later we wouldn't even have the title for the next game, but here we are. I'm anxious to have that feeling of a brand new DA game to return but hopefully it'll be worth the wait.
