I looked up out of curiosity...and it may be nothing, like, maybe I just missed it, but no where, in either the 2020 trailer, or on the site, it's mentioned the frostbite engine for DA4. I remember the frostbite logo being always there in DAI, but...at least is not exactly exposed as usual. Food for thought.
edit: Because I was curious if it was just me, I looked uo at the DAI page on the BioWare site: at the end of the page, the Frostbite logo is right there with BioWare. In the DA4 page, there is only BioWare. Probably just a mistake, or waiting for the official announcement, but I'm not so 100% of the Frostibite engine now (still mostly sure of it, but...it's just strange). I looked up at the Italian site, maybe other languages is different? I think if they were going to change engine again they would have said something before now. I seem to recall them saying they were using Anthem codes, although that could be for the abandoned multi-player element, but that would still point to Frostbite for the single-player as well because they wouldn't be using two different engines. They just aren't publicising the game engine for DA4 because they are holding back on everything connected with it until they are ready to start building up to the release. Also using the same engine as for DAI is not as noteworthy as changing it so there was no reason to announce it ahead of time. My guess, though, is that DA4 will be the last game on Frostbite and they will switch to Unreal for the next Mass Effect.

But why not put the logo if it's confirmed? The thing about reusing the codes was quite old, tho... probably before the reboot? I didn't kept up lately. Even if Frostbite is the used engine (and I have no reason to think is not) it just feel strange that the logo is not there. There is no reason to not leave it there, right? Or is just that the engine is announced later? I'm quite curious.

I'm kinda surprised that the "Behind the Scenes" video is still up on the Dragon Age website, given how several of the devs in the video no longer work there.

I struggle to think of a video that was that in depth of that but we have had devs that are speaking about things in previous BioWare games that aren'[t there and the vids are still up. I mean even if it is a general rah rah we are working on it we promise type of video hopefully some of the info is still relevant. Hopefully they are trying their best to make a game with memorable characters, good stories, and choices that matter.

That's fine. I would expect it to come out on the PS5 and XBox Series X, and both consoles are still really hard to acquire right now without paying a bundle to scalpers. You don't want to know what I did to finally get a PS5.

Blair Thorburn @oiblairIt has been 0 days since how horny the Dragon Age fandom is came up in a work meeting. *sits here hoping for non-horny romances* Does this mean you might actually give the New Hero a chance, eventhough they aren't the Inquisitor?

I'm kinda surprised that the "Behind the Scenes" video is still up on the Dragon Age website, given how several of the devs in the video no longer work there. Even if they don't work there anymore, it doesn't mean that all the work they've done at the time they worked there has been scrapped. What they've left behind may still be part of the game, in one way or another. In that sense, they are still part of the team that's built DA.

Well, if they started developing for Frostbite, then switched to Unreal, that might also have contributed to the longer development time, along with COVID pandemic, a good chunk of the studio having to switch to Anthem in order to get it released on time, etc. Might have been what triggered one of the reboots, too. I looked up out of curiosity...and it may be nothing, like, maybe I just missed it, but no where, in either the 2020 trailer, or on the site, it's mentioned the frostbite engine for DA4. I looked up at the Italian site, maybe other languages is different? When the news that BioWare was considering Unreal for ME5, Jeff Grubb tweeted out that DA4 was still a Frostbite game. He also later said (pretty recently actually) that animating many human-like characters in Frostbite is difficult, but BioWare has talented developers working on it. So it would appear that DA4 will still be a Frostbite game.

I suppose I just don't understand why some people concern themselves with *any* aspects of media that they don't engage with.

I suppose I just don't understand why some people concern themselves with *any* aspects of media that they don't engage with. You'd be surprised how many people would just trash a game even though they've stopped playing it. For me personally, it was tough to talk about anything Battlefield 2042 without being downvoted. It's as if it's illegal to say anything remotely positive about the game or even to request to team up and play by folks who claim to have sworn off Battlefield games.

You saying that only makes me curious All I'm going to say, is that it cost me a piece of myself. Yeah, an arm and leg, most likely. lol At this point, I'm convinced DA4 is never coming out. (That works as a countercurse to the Bun's 2016 witchery, right???)

Brady lost in the NFC Divisional game against the Rams I am not too mad though, hell of a game and fought until the end, but then the idea occured to me if like Sony buys EA and then they announce Dragon Age is cancelled by the end of the week that'll be one hell of a double whammy.
