Please enjoy the following with a healthy grain of salt since it's just taken from a random German gaming magazine.
I've wondered for a while why the game only refers to Harding by her last name instead of her first name "Lace" like it does with every other companion.
Apparently, in the international versions of the game, "Lace" is being translated into the appropriate word for the textile element. So in the German version, she is "Borte Harding".
EDIT: then again, it's a gaming magazine and I wouldn't be overly surprised if a bunch of yo-yos there just ran everything through Google translate and slapped together some "article".

You could have easily told me Borte was a Frisian name and I would have bought it. "Ah, a Frisian name? Beautiful Frisian name!"

I mean when you think about it her first name having to be translated does make complete sense. Sure most names mean something in a specific language, but the whole point is her mother literally named her Lace after the fabric - the lore doesn't make sense in other languages if her name is still the English word.
So of course marketing favours her surname because it's universal across all languages. Hell that's probably why in-universe she favours her surname too - it keeps it simple and reduces the chances of the English version slipping through.

I have a lore question. Not about Harding herself but more regardling her personal quest precisely Valta. Maybe i miss this in the lore but how on earth had Valta a living dwarf turned into stone?

What surprised me was how Lace was pretty accepting of her powers. But then again her attitude is probably tied to Rook's reaction. I am a little afraid that she'll end up like Valta. Just a husk for the Titans.
