Please provide a screenshot when possible, as it is difficult to work off of written description; a visual will be easier for us to tackle the issue.
As far as mobile issues go, there are limitations in that ProBoards does not provide a template for modifiying the mobile version of the site.

I have a persistent red '1' above the message tqb. With the day being what it has been, I have received many messages, but even if I clear them all, the 1 , like the Dude, abides. I have closed my browser and returned and still it tasks me. Any ideas?
