I want to play MEA now on my desktop PC. Reason A, better graphic. Reason B, modding possibilities and it is not possible on PS4. I want to know what I have to pay attention by updateing my PC. At first my PC Hardware.
Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-LE CPU: AMD FX-4100 (am3 socked), 3,6 GHz QuadCore Graphic: GTX 960 RAM: 8GB
By the way, I would like to play The Sims 4/The Sims 3 on max Settings, to. The Sims 4 had this cool lightning that looks on very high settings realistic. Can this CPU handle a better graphic card? Would it be enough?

It seems to be twice slower than my i7-4960X and I had GTX 970OC that couldnt run it with all the bells and whistles set on ultra 60fps at 1920x1200 - so I'd say if you update your GPU only, your CPU is a bit on the way of the performance. Then next thing: you'll gonna run out of memory with only 8GB -> slower perf.

I set Display Resolution in general on 1600x900 not on full solution. (The Settlers UI is very small on big screens with big resolutions) So, you mean I should upgrade CPU, too? Is it still possible on this MB? RAM is no problem, because there are still 2 slots unused.

I am not sure, it depends on your motherboard. You may want to see from the manufacturers website what CPU's it supports.

But I am wondering that higher graphic settings require a new CPU an not a better graphic card. Actually, if 3,6GHz or 4,0 GHz, would I even notice it?

Faster GPU needs also faster CPU to feed it, thats why I think the old 4100 isnt maybe enough. Faster GPU is always going to make more difference also than just faster CPU.

What I have to look for by choosing CPU and GraphicCard? Let me assume I will buy the FX-8350. How do I know I have found a GraphicCard that will fit?
Or is the correct way to get MEA on better Graphic Settings at first buying a new GraphicCard than wait if CPU can handle it?

The Sims 4 had this cool lightning that looks on very high settings realistic. Can this CPU handle a better graphic card? Would it be enough? The CPU you have can easily be overclocked to roughly 4.5 and will out perform the Fx-8350 at that speed. No game will use the full 8 cores of that cpu so it's wasted unless you use other programs that fully utilize those cores. Plus your just adding more heat to the whole setup. You don't need 16 gigs of memory as another poster said. 8 is more than enough for MEA. The only time you may use more is if you heavily mod games like Skyrim. The main thing holding you back is your 960 graphics card. Even if you overclock it it still won't be enough. Your motherboard allows for overclocking (It's unlocked) and so does your cpu. Start there and get a better graphics card. I've been building computers for the better part of 20 years now from mild to full blown custom water cooled tri-card setups.

This is flat out bad advice. There are many a games out there that are FAR more cpu reliant than on the gpu (most mmo style of games). The Fx-4100 overclocked will out perform the Fx-8350 at base and is much easier to overclock due to less cores (less heat). You can overclock the 4100 on air and still get it to 4.5g. Hell...the $500 dollar pc I built for my son will run MEA no problems with it's Pentium G4560 2 core (4 with hyper threading)

8GB may be enough if you shut down browsers and stuff from background, I do not. Also overclocking is always a bad idea, never know how it'll go out, wasting time to stability test... I was there, when I was 20 years "stupider" nowadays I'm not bothering with it. Also "4100 isnt maybe enough" is if one updates GPU on it, the CPU will be the dragging part then. You can see this in many tests when used low end CPU and high(er) end GPU. I've been building computesr over 30 years now

I've overclocked ALL my cpu's with no problem and all my customers whom wish it. The 4100 overclocked is more than enough for MEA. He would just need to upgrade his gpu to a higher ram model. Something along the lines of 6gig to 8gig.

I guessed right, do say I'm a kid now? You can do overclocking, I wont. I wont discuss more of this.

I guessed right, do say I'm a kid now? You can do overclocking, I wont. I wont discuss more of this. You've guessed right about nothing. If you knew anything about cpu's you'd understand that they're even overclocked straight from the factory. The 4100 and the 8350 run on the exact same lithgraphy of 32nm. If you bump up the 4100 to 4.2 (which is the turbo of the 8350) it will have the same single core efficiency of the the 8350. You don't have to take my word for it. 5 seconds on google will show you. Just own up like a man to your poor advice...
