This doesn't help my concern about the remake at all. It really seems like they want to take the same approach they did with Part 2 and it wasn't a game I enjoyed at all.

“Contrary to many of the allegations, the Board and its external advisors have determined that there is no evidence to suggest that Activision Blizzard senior executives ever intentionally ignored or attempted to downplay the instances of gender harassment that occurred and were reported,” the Workplace Responsibility Committee wrote to shareholders in a June 16 SEC filing. “While there are some substantiated instances of gender harassment, those unfortunate circumstances do not support the conclusion that Activision senior leadership or the Board were aware of and tolerated gender harassment or that there was ever a systemic issue with harassment, discrimination, or retaliation.”
The summary is also hard to square with the landmark $US18 ($25) million settlement with the EEOC for recent victims of harassment and discrimination at the company. “What we have come to realise over the past several months is that there are many truths about our company — individual and collective, experiential and data-driven — and sometimes they can be difficult to reconcile,” the Board writes. It does not elaborate on the details or nature of those opposing “truths,” but goes on to complain about being wrongly maligned by an “unrelenting barrage of media criticism.”

This company is run by scum. My condolences to the people working there.
With the cost of lawyers that companies like Acti/Blizz can hire they might have taken that settlement as a way to save money on lawyers fees. I am not saying that is the case, but I have seen too much corporate BS in my few years to know that is how a lot of corporations view a settlement like that especially if I remember correctly there was the same declaration of that they weren't admitting to doing anything wrong at the time either. Of course that doesn't change the opinions of people that are too small for corporations like that to care about, but its probably how they see it and others that have more money then I would ever see.

Good thing California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing won't be accepting a settlement then.

Oh wow, Overwatch 2 isn't launching with its hype new PvE mode? I don't actually know why it's worth buying then TBH, wasn't everybody saying in the beta that the PvP game was virtually the same and that it could have just been rolled out in a patch or something :S.
Any of you guys played any of the classics on PlayStation Plus?
There’s this really amazing mode where you can rewind gameplay and cutscenes in real-time like a DVR. But that’s not all, you can use the DVR function to save without messing around the in game save functions nor checkpoints.
That guy who blew you up with a grenade just out of visual range? Rewind 10 seconds and run at him. No need to restart to the checkpoint five minutes ago. You keep falling for a cheap puzzle trick? Keep resetting to the exact moment in 2 seconds.

I thought the PvP version was just going to be a big patch, so that it didn’t divide the player base. The part you buy will be the PvE campaign. Similar to Halo Infinite where the MP is free. Did they change that for Overwatch 2?

It’s like you are Prince of Persia.
Yeah, I've been playing Syphon Filter. I was avoiding Rewind early on, but after a series of stealth or escort mission I started abusing the heck out of it. Its great! Haha.
Its never too late. LOL.

Ahhhhhhh okay, I didn't know that. That definitely makes the game more palatable for sure.

I need a good game! I'm playing Tales of Arise and its super annoying and I'm playing Red Dead 2 which while interesting is very slow and plodding. I can replay a ton of good games but really want something new. 😩😩
Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, KOTOR, Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect Andromeda, Anthem, Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Atm I'm jus tslogging throug hm ybacklog knocking off a few games from it such as the Witcher trilogy before Spiderman swings onto PC in August. So not sure I can help you as I'm mostly waiting for the games that come from Octobe onwards so saving the money I have till then.

I have no idea what you played already and how variable is your taste. But my list of good games I played in the past few years is kinda small, so:
AC Odyssey
Frostpunk
Greedfall
Plague Tale
Horizon Zero Dawn
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (combat is boring, but rest is pretty fun)
Yakuza series (just recently got into that and some of them are extremely awesome like Yakuza 0)
Jedi Fallen Order (only if you are Star Wars fan)
Disco Elysium
Subnautica (I don't like survival games, but this one turned out to be the one and only exception)
Outer Wilds (not to be confused with The Outer Worlds)
And some older or weird games that I got attached to:
FTL
Unpacking
This War of Mine
Not For Broadcast
Into the Breach
Honorable mention:
SWTOR - I keep getting back to it to replay the stories.

Hey duckley - not sure if you've progressed or given up on RDR2, but I too found it very slow going early on. It tries - too hard, in my opinion - to explain every little thing. For what it is worth, once you've completed a small handful of chapter 2 story missions (and unlocked the Fence at Emerald Ranch) things open up and you can do an astonishing number of things and complete Stranger Missions which are almost all multi-threaded mini stories.
It is definitely not for everyone, but it is one of the most satisfying and - in the end - moving gaming experiences of my life.
----
I've just started playing Greedfall, and am getting strong Dragon Age Origins vibes from it (albeit with a voiced protagonist).
I know you had issues with Guardians of the Galaxy which is a real shame because that was hilarious and fun and the first game I've ever been compelled to 'review' on Steam.
Remedy's Control is very different and cool.

This sounds more and more promising. I've yet to play the first one but I will when I get the second.
The rat swarm attack reminds me of the Dishonored games in which the protags can summon rats to attack enemies except that their numbers are not as huge as the ones in A Plague Tale.

Yeah I really wanted to play Galaxy but just couldn't make that one move on my controller and it became too annoying. I enjoyed Greedfall. Haven't heard about Remedy Control but will check it out!

Nice got AC Oddyssey myself but don't know when I'll play it maybe after my next attempt at the Witcher trilogy. I don' tthink I'll leav ehte Witche rquiet as long this time though as I did last time though. I may give it another go somewhere in between the October games and Hogwarts Legacy but we'll see.

Ghost of Tsushima 2 May Include Multiplayer According to New Job Listings
Now that Ghost of Tsushima has been out for nearly two years and development wound down back in April, it makes sense that developer Sucker Punch will have other projects in the works. Rumors that Ghost of Tsushima 2 may be in development have been spreading since the end of 2020, but recent job listings have added fuel to the fire and suggest they may be thinking of adding multiplayer into the game from the start.
Sucker Punch is working on a AAA “open-world game, with a particular focus on melee combat and stealth” according to the listing for an Encounter Designer. However, new listings suggest there is also a “spectacular multiplayer game” in development and the Senior Multiplayer Mission Designer needs to “build missions that combine challenging combat encounters and cooperative mechanics together with beautiful environments and engaging stories”. These missions are intended to be replayable multiple times and suggest a co-op multiplayer experience rather than a competitive multiplayer experience.
The campaign will have “the narrative golden path, secondary mission content, and even systemic encounters.” According to a new listing for an AI Systems Designer, the world will “be populated with compelling characters” and will include “combat engagements via buddy NPC interactions”. The listing for a Senior Multiplayer Mission Designer goes a bit further, describing “missions that combine challenging combat encounters and cooperative mechanics together with beautiful environments and engaging stories.” We’re assuming these listings are all for the same game and it could be that a Legends-type experience is included in a sequel from day one.
