Fucking hell...not even a date slipping (which still would've been incredibly pathetic), but the announcement of the date...? What the hell is wrong with these people?

Lol, people are taking the tweet waaayyyy too seriously. Sure. Are you surprised though? The company has a target painted on their forehead. Deservedly so. Thus, we must ask the question - Why make anywhere near this sort of smug statement that had even a minute chance of misinterpretation, when you are standing in a room of duck shooters and you have a red target painted on your forehead? This is not a surprising outcome. The damage control was even worse. Perfect example of EA's pisspoor marketing department. Bad brains work there. More like people are little too oversensitive to me. Dragon Age is going to be mostly single player, Fallen Order is getting a sequel and It Takes Two had mostly positive reviews. It's obvious that EA is shifting some attention to single player but people just want to be outraged for whatever reason. The damage control was fine, people just want to be mad at EA.

I am glad you are the arbiter of who is too sensitive for X reason. Take a look in a mirror sometime. The schtick is not transparent. People are allowed to be sensitive to abusive corporations. This is a simple truth.

Personally I'm glad Spiderman's coming as it means I can play it finally. The main differnce being I'll be playing to enjoy it a sI've always enjoyed Spidreman games not to brag. Here's a vid showing some of their reactions Amazing Lucas's is especially salty. But yeah it is sad really I don't care what plastic box I'm using to play a game I just want to enjoy playing it the plastic box fo rme is just a means to an end. I mainl ygame on PC because it's easier for me to use keyboard and mouse and the fac tther are thimngs like god cheats available on PC that I can use should a struggle a bit due to my disability. As I keep a foldfe respeciall yrfo rchea tstuff in case I need it on one of my secondary drives.

In EA's PR Department's soulless attempt to appear cool, and hip their mention of consumers only liking Single Player games as a negative seems like they're still bitter at the negative reception their games as a service business models have received.

At this point in time, I do wonder why any developer is active on social media. With Mass Effect 3 is when I became aware of this for you had BioWare developers talking about it, such as the one threat to Jennifer Helper based on an interview she gave years earlier as an excuse to threatened to kill her kids. Working conditions are far from great in game development, but at the same time the way they are treated on social media by the gaming community isn't any better and its over trivial things like the release schedule of a game.

For example yesterday playing ME1 I wa sreminded about how awkward using the Mako is at times. Struggling due to the Mako bouncing all over the shop. Because whilst I am gla dthe Mako can take a lo tof punishment tha tbouncy here bouncy there nature does annoy me sometimes and it wa sannoying me a bit yesterday as I wasn't feeling particularly patient. Bioware are just lucfk ytha the game as a whole is good fun despite all this and that's why I still return and play it.

Remember when Hello Games initially released early No Man’s Sky and they were bombarded with hate? Instead of responding to the trolls, they ignored them, listened to legit criticism, and worked quietly on the game until they made it great.
My point here is to ignore the trolls, report any threats and crimes to the authorities and don’t mention details when you are being actively bombarded.
Just quietly work on the game.

I just think Bioware devs are overreacting even though THEY have problems that they need to deal with.

Just Wow on R*
To illustrate that I don't hate EA exclusively, Ubisoft Squeenix and R* are essentially the same company as EA with different suits running them. We are talking about Unilever, Schlumberger etc.... conglomeration is killing creativity in all the spaces, not just gaming.
R* made the absolute worst "remaster" anyone had seen (until Nightdive did Blade Runner, wew lad) with their trilogy, and then use their shitty effort as an excuse as to why they didn't make these newer remasters. No shit it didn't sell well guize, you made an offensively bad product and tried selling it for top dollar, and took many top dollars. Fuck R* with melon baller.
Jokes are fine smilesja, but they should be funny and not stomping your own balls by accident when you make them. Better, if you did stomp your own balls trying to make a joke, just wince and roll with it rather than doubling down or rephrasing some rando's tweet as your loljk.
Again, if you're living in glass houses don't throw stones. And if you can't take blows brother, don't throw blows.

I agree, but I think with BioWare it is still a no-win situation. For even if they make changes to the game quietly (or at least changes) when it released you still have the complaints. Looking at Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut how many people are claiming what BioWare did wasn't what they wanted, but at the same time its BioWare saying that is the majority of the complaints they heard. Then you have things like ME3MP where you had people upset BioWare added multiplayer and it was something that was part of all BioWare games prior to ME1. So I have a hard time believing BioWare could pull off what a small developer like Hello Games did because the expectations I think are so vast between groups of people.

Very true, but they did themselves no favors by making statements such as their fanbase was toxic and the ending follows their creative integrity or something. Keeping silent and then releasing the extended cut would have fared far better for BioWare and their reputation. Sometimes, you don’t have to respond to trolling or hate.

I'm not even angry anymore. Still shocked a little by it, but this is where we are in our history right now. Since we are so laser-focused here on gaming that we feign oblivity to anything relevant with current events, there can only be one response to this as an informed consumer - If you are a fan of their games and don't like this, you need to let them know. If you are like me and gave up on them years ago because of their obvious avarice, speak to the market with your wallet. Many will say that my protest is meaningless, but it isn't meaningless to me. Don't buy their shit. Don't believe their lies. Game preservation occurs in spaces we don't discuss here, but IMO if you own any of these titles and are unable to play them after this comes into effect you are in the right morally to have an offline backup of all of this that works, which can be found on websites.... that you would not learn from a Jedi.
