I like the follow up after KotET. Barely enough time to do anything with the fleet when enter ex machina to blow everything up and put the protag back without any strong military. The purpose of it is of course to return everything to the old board; imp vs rep. Completely defeating the light side declaration / choice that the Alliance would be peacekeepers.

There's no gradual build up to the realization that perhaps that intention could not be attained. You're immediately forced to take sides and start taking orders from somebody. Both sides treat you as an underling now that there's no eternal fleet. So much for the previous crying; planets were bombarded, millions of people died, we're running out of resources, boo hoo hoo, do something, we're so piteous. They were all ready to bombard and die some more after the Zakuul problem was solved. Nobody on either side seems tired / exhausted. They must be constantly taking steriods.

I'd rather have an interim in which the Imp and Rep are quiet; recovering and rebuilding. New mysterious elements could be introduced, in which the universe of Star Wars can be explored. Instead, straight back into the old cycle. *yawn*
