I have a question I know there's a droid on the ship and the Jedi Knight has a utility droid as a companion. But in any of the questlines for the classes do we get a trigger happy protocol droid like HK-47? If you play the expansion content that happens after the class stories (specifically the Knights of the Fallen Empire storyline) you will eventually team up with HK-51!
The Trooper also has an aggressively patriotic droid companion called M1-4X, but he doesn't quite have the same vibe.

ONCE (I'm not a big fan of the KotFE storyline, and much less so on its gameplay).
BTW, did you know you can get an HK companion by playing a treasure hunt like set of missions/tasks? It starts in Section-X. Also a lot of people treat this as a one-time since the last task is ... rather long. I've done it maybe a half-dozen times

Oh, one more thing If you have the time, I strongly recommend you put down the game and first read the novel "Star Wars the Old Republic: Revan"REALLY!
It's a good read, not too long, and it sets up major plot points in SWTOR.

If you have to read a book or any other external media besides the manual that comes with the game first to understand the plot of the game, you need a new plot to your game. Or better yet, adapt that plot to a game instead.

I've read that fans have mixed feelings about this book. Then again I heard the same thing about SWTOR. Though I never read the book I do know what they did to my beloved Exile. Anyone who knows me knows that KOTOR 2 is my favorite Star Wars game and that I preferred the Exile over Revan. So when I read what they did to her. It turned me off. My main beef was that Chris Avellone respected Revan and made him better in KOTOR 2. Drew Karpyshyn never played KOTOR 2, so he did not give the Exile the same respect. BUT!!! Like I said I also read mixed reviews on SWTOR and I am enjoying the game. So I will check out the book.

You don't need to read the book to understand the plot, SWTOR just references the last part of the novel in two flashpoints and one of the Jedi Knight companion was in it. It's irrelevant for 99% of the game storylines and what you need to know is explained in SWTOR. I own the novel and Deceived (the Darth Malgus novel, the first one that released before the game).

I agree I think what DoctorDAM meant by referring the novel was to use it as background lore. To be honest I don't know what happens to Revan after KOTOR, I do know what happens to the Exile because I remember the uproar from TSL fans. So I will read the novel just to find out what happened to Revan and their companions like Canderous or Bastila.

Thought he meant something along the lines of the 343i approach to books and other abysmal anti-consumer practices over the last decade where it was required reading or you would be lost as in the case of the Didact, their main antagonist, being quietly killed off in a spinoff comic instead of being the pivotal moment of a mainline game.

Yes, to clarify, I meant that it enhances your SWTOR gaming experience (especially for us story-driven types), not that it is necessary.
talyn82 given your stated preferences, I think you'll enjoy the book. Even though I don't share your love for KOTOR2.
[I loved the first half, buggy though it was. The last half was an absolute mess that turned me off to it. I've since purchased the PC version and have attempted a TSL replay, but just can't seem to get through the unending back and forth parts of the gaming. And frankly, I find most of the convo's, especially Kreia's, to be be college freshman dorm navel-gazing. Fight me ]

She's just a cynical old woman who has grown to rely on something she hates and most of the idiots who blindly praise her are discordfags who only saw clips from some youtube channel and never played the games that showed she was really just a manipulator and tormented everyone. I just find it funny how the citadel station battle was the prototype for what would later become the endings for ME1 and ME3. You could get the Mandalorians, Onderon military (dark side),TSF, Republic, and M4-78 battle droids to come together to stop Darth Nihlus/Sovereign/take earth back. This was in 2004 btw.

Yes, as a TSL fan we are left wondering what could have been if the game had been given more time. I use the restoration mod but it does not add everything like Bao Dur's death. But yeah I don't wish you or @jolt any ill will.

She reminds me of Darth Sidious creating grand plots that effect the universe. But the first time I played I immediately knew she was Sith upon first meeting her. So I always knew she was manipulating everyone including the Exile.

DoctorDAM I checked the book out on amazon their selling with three other books apart of the SWTOR timeline for a reasonable price. I bought the bundle. But I will start reading the Revan novel after I finish Tatooine with my Jedi Knight. Oh I forgot to mention this my favorite era in Star Wars is the Old Republic era. Has been since I first read the Tales of the Jedi comics when I was a teen back in the 90's.

Though her survival up to the end of KOTOR 2 was mostly through her games of 4D chess and spelling it out in her own cryptic shakespearian manner that there is always a bigger fish on a meta level.

But yeah I don't wish you or @jolt any ill will. I think Kotor 2 was more of a product of its time. They never did explain the fate of Juhani, Jolee, Zaalbar, and Mission either even in the EU. I wonder if EA will ever capitalize on the original "Clone wars era Old Republic" pitch set during Episode 2-3? I'm over Swtor's amazing CGI trailers and then being let down by the potato face wow-clone shit at this point when there are no real technical reasons why SWTOR cannot look like that with current gen tools and hardware if they started on a new MMO. Hell Even ME3 more closely resembled its own CGI trailers and there was no such drastic bait & switch in its art style. Geonosis being the only planet would be boring so it would be nice to revisit Rhen Var, Jabiim, Saleucami with the 91st recon, and other classic planets again as a new force sensitive character since Anakin/Darth Vader is not the omnipotent marvel super hero that Disney painted them out to be extremely aggressively early on in the Dark Times. Its hard to really care about Swtor's story at all when its clear they tried to combine mass effect's barebone 3 dialog "choices" system into a game series that is all about having 8 or more possible lines of readable conversation per npc and then all they do is awkwardly stand around and flap their gums and are even sometimes in the wrong place running to where they need to be to talk in the cutscene in the entirety of the basegame. This can be seen consistently during one of the Tatooine heroics where the boss does a dorky run up the ramp before catching up with his guys and confronting you. The Zakool dudes fanfiction club expansion tried to rectify that with some success but they gave up shortly into the venture. There are bits and pieces of the Kotor-dialogue that are still used to this day even in the current onslaught expansions, but its used sparingly while they did consistently try to make the characters seem more alive and actually at least be animated during story segments. Malgus was the most notable improvement other than going back to his default pose every time he shakes his fist angrily at you during one of the flashpoints that don't exist because they were not fun to play more than once. This game is "hammer station" simulator for good reason. Was cool to glitch the game and turn that expansion into a co-op campaign. The walker segment was super broken and could sometimes see unused areas off in the distance as anyone who isnt the host/party leader can just walk through level load triggers and not set them off.

Yeah, that was something I did not like they never said what happened to Revan's companions besides Carth, Bastila, and Canderous. Although KOTOR fans always assumed Juhani and Jolee were among the Jedi that were on Katarr when Darth Nihilus destroyed it. Again that's just a theory that has been going around since K2 released. But Mission was a favorite of mine she was like Revan's kid sister. Would at least like to know what happened to her and Jolee.

She was oddly the most honest main antagonist ever. There were some things that she said I was skeptical with. For example the lethality of her and the Exile's Force bond. Many of the Jedi Masters all say that such a bond is not possible. By that I mean a bond that if the Master dies the student dies. I think she was using that as an excuse to control the Exile. I also think she lost her duel with Darth Sion on the Harbinger on purpose. Just my theories.

Perhaps sacrificing her hand was her way of testing the rumors of how deep the Exile's force bonding goes and as a lesson in pain to control them like she did to Sion. Similar to how the beast tamers controlled the boma during the onderon arc.

Similar to how the beast tamers controlled the boma during the onderon arc. That's true I did not consider that. I guess you do have a point when you say she was the most honest antagonist ever then. The beast riders analogy is a good one when describing Kreia's lesson to Darth Sion and the Exile.

Enjoy! The "correct" (chronological) order is: Revan Deceived Fatal Alliance Annihilation
Deceived is essentially a major fleshing out of the original trailer, which sets the table for SWTOR in general (which starts 10 years later). So it deals a lot with Darth Malgus. So obviously helps in creating more background/story for the events in SWTOR. Fatal Alliance is probably the least "necessary" Annihilation also introduces a character relevant to the game.
Personally, I prefer the first two books, but sounds like you may enjoy them all. Cheers!

Hopefully tomorrow the delivery guy will bring them to the right house. Oh in SWTOR I finished Tatooine. Czerka was trying to uncover an ancient device which turned out to be a prison for a Rakatan known as The One. After a brief fight my Jedi Knight destroyed the device and killed the leader of Czerka on Tatooine.

Czerka was trying to uncover an ancient device which turned out to be a prison for a Rakatan known as The One. Are you even playing the planet story arcs? They are certainly worth doing once per faction as some are quite good. OTOH, I found they tended to get me a bit too sidetracked from the class story such that I might start convolving the two, or just forget where I was in that story. Especially if mixed in with flashpoints (which have their own arc).
Writing of flashpoints, I'll dole out another warning/piece of advice (seem full of that lately ): Look up the original order/timing of them as, IIRC, at least one drops a MAJOR spoiler for your JK story if you get ahead of yourself (ditto starting RoTHC before you finish class story. Maybe your not as spoiler-averse as I am.
This is one of the problems caused by the super-simplified leveling (and combat, but that's another story) that SWTOR changed to many expansions ago. I can get to be a broken record on this in that I think it ruined it for story-driven play. So it used to be the FP's were level-locked and you wouldn't get to that level before you had likely progressed in your story past potential spoilers (unless you did a crap-ton of PvP, etc.)

DoctorDAM Czerka is the planet story for both faction on Tatooine. Thanks. Yeah, I don't even remember which planet stories are faction-specific (are any?)
