Male Knight's where it's at though. It took me a long time to finally get into the Jedi Knight's story, but I think that was because I picked shitty dialogue options. After returning to the game a few years later, picking some more renegade options, romancing the shit out of Kira, and playing the expansions - I now consider the male Knight my main character. He's not quite Kyle Katarn levels of awesome Jedi, but I feel like he's close now

I still have not played any of the force user classes, nor do I really plan too. I don't like the force or force users; I get more enjoyment out of playing the muggles basically. Despite considering my Jedi Knight my main, I still love the smuggler. In fact, pre-expansion it was my favorite class and the only one that jived with me. I felt at the time most of the other classes had missed the mark and didn't quite have the right tone. Smuggler on the other hand was exactly what it needed to be about and you got to revel in how much of a non-special savoir you were. Everyone else is off to either go save the galaxy or make a big name for themselves in the first 10-15 hours, while the poor smuggler is just trying to get their blasted ship back. They're constantly an underdog that manages to exploit that to their advantage. Also you can change Skavak's medical record so that potential love interests will think he has incurable STDs...I'd take that over electrocuting someone every single time. Only thing that changed for me was that the story expansions shifted in way that just makes non-force user characters horribly misused. The quality in the Eternal Throne stuff is surprisingly well done, but doesn't work with a smuggler.

Still recall the time I tricked an undercover sith to reveal her true loyalties in front of a pair of Jedi. I was able to tell them "all yours, fellas" (or something to that effect) and walk away. Leaving everyone speechless

Which happens, like, three times in Chapter I.

KotFE/KotET work just as well for Tech classes as Force classes...heck, in some ways, they work better! And Smuggler not working with the Eternal Throne? That's crazy. After all... In the Light Side ending to KotET, you literally turn the entire Eternal Fleet into an unstoppable, extralegal freight-transport service.

In the Light Side ending to KotET, you literally turn the entire Eternal Fleet into an unstoppable, extralegal freight-transport service. The personal vendetta the Emperor has with you makes so much more sense when you killed him as a Jedi Knight. The whole "you're unique and have so much potential to be more than you are" bit where the emperor is obsessed with you just doesn't fit when your skill set is mostly limited to drinking, getting into bar fights, flying, and smooching space babes. Maybe if they played that up a bit and made it feel like an actual arc for the character to overcome their more basic lifestyle I'd have felt differently. But they pretty much start and end KotFE/KotET from a position of authority that is pretty much the exact opposite of how I played the smuggler in their vanilla main story campaign. So much of that character can be played as a person who has no interest in getting involved with factions, politics, fighting people's wars, and by the end of the expansions you're a supreme leader that's bringing together all the various factions that hate one another. It feels natural as a Knight who slowly assumes more and more responsibilities in their class story and ends up becoming a master. Your main adversaries in the Eternal Throne expansions are all force users who are constantly described as extremely powerful, unique force wielders, who are nigh-unstoppable and require you to defeat two through one on one combat and the other through your brain/force in the end of the game. I like that the smuggler can be under-estimated and they find a way to use that against their enemies, but they don't do that in the expansions because it's all one same story at that point and you're forced to confront your enemies head on every time. Han Solo shouldn't be able to shoot Vader to death and then later go on to beat the Emperor through sheer will-power.

So is there any sexy time with Theron in the new content? And how long is it? Like a chapter in Kotet? Story spoilers ahead: If you side with the empire, Jace dies and you get a kiss. If you side with the republic, Jace lives and you get an "I love you" before the final mission. I play male and female characters. And I loved the game up to and including RotHC. It started to fall off after that for me because all the stories were one size fits all. I really wish they would go back to what made SWtOR different to begin with and brought people to play: class/planet/companion stories. With interesting FPs and Ops that fit into the stories. I'm sure my wish on this will never get fulfilled though I keep playing though. By leveling alts through Makeb and then making a new one

On the contrary, I this is one of the places where people get it backwards. From Valkorion's perspective, neither one is a rival. He's attained UNLIMITED POWAAAAAHHHHHH and both the Knight and Smuggler are ants to him. However... the Knight is someone who, despite the entire backing of the Jedi order has tried to kill him twice, and ultimately failed both times. The Smuggler, on the other hand, is "just a random guy", but has flown out of a black hole, become the most respected figure in the underworld, and was instrumental in the defeat of the Imperial Fleet on Corellia. Vitiakorian already has power by the time you meet him. He wants someone he finds interesting. Funny that you use that analogy, since Han was the one responsible for beating Vader in the very first movie! I can't and won't speak for the entire Expanded Universe, but I don't know that it's germaine to the discussion anyway, as you have probably hundreds of different authors with an equal number of perspectives who are all going to claim different things. But if you look at the movies, and if you look at SWTOR in the pre-KotFE era, you'll see that being strong in the Force is not ever an insurpassable advantage. Obi-Wan in the prequels was a Jedi Master and got pretty hard fights from Jango and Grevious (and Grevious even had the lightsabers he'd claimed from killing a bunch of Jedi previously). Heck, all but two of the Jedi, including most of the council, get killed by normal clone troopers. And in SWTOR? Even putting aside the Planetary arcs, all the Tech classes in SWTOR take down Jedi/Sith in their class stories, up to and including Dark Council members or the Battlemaster of the Jedi. On the flip side, the strongest enemy the Knight fights in their class story is an elite, but Force-insensitive soldier.
