SPOILERS for those who have not yet played the expansions.
I just finished KOTET with my Sith Warrior. I loved the story (though the ending was very sad for a few reasons), but...
- The Chapters could've been longer. - I wish you could've talked to your companions like in the original game. - There could've been more meaningful side content. I hated the 'mute' conversations so much. - Would've rather had more new companions and less old ones. It was just too many old faces and most didn't even matter at all in the end. They were just there. - Was disappointed to find out you can't romance Arcann. My Sith was romancing Lana (which was great) but I had another character in mind I was going to romance him with. Koth and Theron are both awfully bland and boring. Just like 90% of the vanilla games romances for female characters were. Seriously, what's up with that?
Other than that I don't have many complaints. Like I said I loved the story. Can't wait to see what's next for the Eternal Emperor.

Of course, they're supposed to give us back all of our original comps too. Still waiting. Any comp who can potentially be dead due to story we'll never hear from again. It stinks. At this point, Lana is the only one we'll ever hear speak anymore.

Out of curiosity, what are you guys all hoping to see them reveal or announce for the first 2018 roadmap? What I'm hoping for? Thinking on the promise of which companions they're "working on" bringing back, this might be setting my expectations awfully high, but what I'd like, and even think is a possibility, if a small one, is that 5.7/5.6.2 will feature the return of [insert romanced companion here]. Basically, with the knowledge that these are the characters that the players probably most want to see in their own stories, rather than simply shoehorning them where convenient (like with Temple going back to the Chiss), we'll see one short-but-sweet mission where the Commander reunites with their old love interest, detailed enough to be character-appropriate, but simple enough to not be bog down development completely with 12 completely unique missions. That would be pretty in-line with the previous reunions, really. Why as soon as that? Well, for one, dataminers have already found content for these style of "special alerts" that are restricted by class, so it's clear the devs are working on something like this behind the scenes for a while already. And based on general update precedence, that will probably be released in mid-February, which means just in time for Valentine's Day... So fingers crossed. I'm not counting on it, but it'd definitely be a nice surprise.

Star Forge is the better server. It's where all the shitlords are. Out of curiosity, what are you guys all hoping to see them reveal or announce for the first 2018 roadmap? I hope they announce the return of the rest of the missing LIs. It's been almost 2 1/2 yrs that some characters have been waiting for their return and it's well past time BioWare stop ignoring the fact that they removed them with the promise of a meaningful return and have done a shitty job thus far. But, in all honesty, they'll probably keep ignoring the fuck right out of us still waiting

Star Forge is the better server. It's where all the shitlords are. Star Forge Imp Fleet, specifically. Out of curiosity, what are you guys all hoping to see them reveal or announce for the first 2018 roadmap? Yeah, I'll also throw in with TOR Episode 6: Return of the Waifus. Even though I probably still won't do KOTFE on any of my mains, more content with Kira et al is about the only thing that's still of interest that they could feasibly do. Also new year, new poll maybe? Any ideas?

Roadmap 2018:
Gimmie HK-55/Bonus Story, dont give a shit about the other stuff like the jetpack ect. Dont lock actual character stuff behind the "oh you werent subbed at the time" wall. Cosmetics, fine but not actual characters.
More Story Expansions, butttttttt.....make it class specific for a more varied playthru.
Actual different maps for PVP.

...its like people don't notice the lack of companion content after the third chapter of each class stories.... (I'm still pissed about Scourge in SOR) There's a companion terminal if you want the waifus back. And yes... SWTOR have the worse and blandest romances for female characters.... but most male options can sometimes be so vanilla like a Mills & Boons novel (except for DS Jaesa and Kaliyo of course). But its adorable to see so many still get so attached. I have the first laugh when they officially announced Arcann to be romanceable. I guess all the years of direct approach and being thirsty for the villain somehow works. Funnily, even mainstream SW fandom aren't happy with the forbidden romance path in TLJ.

I won't use the companion terminal on principle. They are gone in the story and it wouldn't make sense for me to be dragging them around with me everywhere when they're not really "there." It's my personal preference and I will continue to wait for them to return through story as promised for rp purposes.
I'm glad that Arcann is going to be an option. I find him pretty interesting and I'm curious to see how he shapes up.
Scourge/Kira not being included in the story for SoR and KotFE/ET was criminal. Such a missed opportunity on BioWares part.

Should we do a search of the official forums circa 2014 to see all the threads that wanted more companion stuff? It's all part of the class story experience. As far as I've been around, people have always wanted more of what really makes TOR great, which is personalized story (really the general BioWare formula of "use dialog wheel to make the pretty NPC like you"). And the companion terminal is completely irrelevant to what people are asking for which is not strictly speaking "give me this specific drone to follow me around some more" (now that there's so many), but rather go back to the above- let me use the dialog wheel to make the pretty NPC like me. Although if you like Jaesa and Kaliyo I kind of doubt we have much to talk about on the romance front...

Not all companion stories are created equal, neither was romances. There are 40 companions, a quarter of them returned as Alliance alert and they've brought back 7 out of 19 romanceable companions into the main story. There's already datamined dialogue branches of Vector's return and his romance and also Risha and Corso recruit missions which may or may not happen.
I've been around for years as well. What people seem to want with the companions is Citadel DLC and the story stop moving beyond class stories. After what happened in MEA, I don't really have much faith over whether they actually listen. They already extensively built a story around Scorpio's origins which took two expansions and a half to tell. As the way it is, I'm not really a fan of the existing 5 minutes companions appearances, now with a chance of fridging one over the other.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they want Citadel DLC (though I'm sure that's the case for some people). What they want is a continuation of the story: missions, conversations, and yeah, romances. The problem is, with so many characters now killable or potentially not-recruited, the odds of any of the old character playing any story relevance again whatsoever is minimal. I mean, at this point, Vette, Torian, Kaliyo, Jorgan and Quinn are potentially dead. Dorne and all the Alliance Alert characters are potentially not recruited (or in some cases, dead as well). What are the odds that, say Kaliyo is going to have much to say to the Outlander ever again? Or Guss? or Vette? Odds are Kira, Corso, Vector, Scourge and the other unaccounted for characters are going to end up the same way. And that makes me said. I could listen to Kira read the phone book

They can only draw this current story out for so long before they lose their last loyal subs, and they are really drawing it out. I've been subbed since launch and am seriously considering going back to WoW for awhile because there is nothing in SWTOR to hold my interest right now. Sure...I could replay the class stories, but I've already done that close to 50 times. The current model of a fp as story is just as bad as the all story with no new pvp/fp/ops model was. I guess I'll wait and see if they come out with a roadmap for late winter/spring.

Unfortunately for TOR and it's barely-there dev team and resources, it probably is a bit more binding. I could listen to Kira read the phone book This one understands. Those cartel market prices still amaze me. Just saw they got a single saber on there for over 40$..don't know how they get away with that stuff Because idiots keep buying it, or spending that or more on the gambling packs. I can't entirely dismiss it though, shinies are srs bsns. Thankfully I have almost everything I want in that department. And I'm not too broken up over the last holdout. A direct sale will (hopefully) come.

I am really glad Eric replied to some of the questions about the returning companions.
Nice to know they'll be cinematic and not the KOTOR-style. Still though, I think I may cancel my sub finally once I play through the new alerts. There is not going to be anything new for months - and no reason to keep a sub going during that time.

I am disappointed with the way they handled this companion thing from the beginning.
When people said they wanted their companions to be important to the story, I felt they meant like the 1 - 50 leveling experience. No matter which companion you had out they would sometimes react to what was going on in the story atm. Like they were actually part of the experience. At least that's what I would have liked and I've seen others voice the same opinion on the SWtOR forums.
I feel like now they're just rushing them all back out to us because they've taken entirely too long and messed everything up anyways. I hope they do the remaining returns justice though. People have waited a long time to get nothing. /end rant

Even if they do the returns justice (not holding my breath there), with what they've done with the ones we've gotten back so far, we've got very little to look forward to in regards to companion interaction/participation. Most of them can be dead. We'll never hear from them again. :sob: So it leads me right back to...where the heck are they going with this??

Yep. Even if they do the returns justice (not holding my breath there), with what they've done with the ones we've gotten back so far, we've got very little to look forward to in regards to companion interaction/participation. Most of them can be dead. We'll never hear from them again. So it leads me right back to...where the heck are they going with this?? I don't think they even know anymore I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best, but I won't have high expectations. That way I hopefully won't be too disappointed. But let me just say......when da fuq they gonna give the Consular some of her effing companions back?! Nayelii been waitin' on Iresso a L O N G ass time for Christ's sake. The only consular I've started the KOTFE with is sitting in the Mando chapter because I have had no motivation to complete anymore of it with her. Corso coming back might make me want to start KOTFE finally with one of my smugglers. So tired of it all though. It's the same no matter what class and I've already seen it 8 or 9 times now.

I gotta say I've actually... not done any new content since KOTET finished. Primarily because the only one in a position to do so is my DvL Knight clone and I was recording stuff with him, including these expansions. Is everything after fully repeatable like KTOFE/KOTET? Otherwise my insta60 who was supposed to be my expansion character is mostly gathering dust. I got her to 70 but I haven't continued her on the story. Everyone else is doing FPs or dailies for the lulz and sometimes the moneis, or randomly helping an RL buddy. Possible temptations for doing more new stuff include doing it with my Warrior, my only real main that I'm considering putting through, because I don't care about 80% of his companions. Vette not returning to the ship is a major bummer though. I like my ship. Then maybe with an inquisitor clone, so I can have a proper dark Emperor (though I hear that doesn't amount to much). And maybe an agent clone because Jo Wyatt
