There were some very small good bits in the new stuff, but it doesn't make up for the absolute sameness of playing through on different characters now

Hey folks,

We have seen a few questions about what is required in order to get these companions. Here are the requirements:

You must be the Class where the Companion was originally introduced. Ex: A Smuggler to get Risha.
You must have completed the KOTET story. The reason for this requirement is that the story of these Companions takes place after the events of KOTET.

We know there has been interest in players being able to acquire Companions outside of these restrictions, such as through the Companion Locator Terminal. Although that is not something we can do quickly, the team is absolutely aware of the feedback.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

I have forced all my original 8 characters through FE/ET and a couple extras for Lana/Theron so I'm good to go on all returning companions....but it was pretty hard at times  

It does make it much more tolerable if you do just a chapter or 2 at a time.  That's actually how I did it after the first few times.  I especially hate that party chapter...all the running back and forth...ugh.  I feel your pain about the skytroopers as well.  Even as a stealther you have to fight them all 

Aw that's bullshit. I just read yesterday that you can start Iokath by skipping KOTFE/KOTET and doing so doesn't incur teh drawbacks of starting the expac, namely the loss of companions and locking out of story. I was going to test with some clones but if true, it meant I could actually progress some of my mains, and get my smuggler more time with Risha. Now this...

I have to laugh, because I've come across at least 10 other smugglers in the last 2 days trying to get through the chapters like I am. Guess I'm not the only one who didn't want to take this class through.

I've gotten up to the chapter where you recruit Scorpio. So much more to go...

The Andronikos reunion was enjoyable. Short, but good. Now my sorc has a quest that I think is to break up with one of the 'new' romances (Lana, Koth, Theron), only she never started one and when I go to my rooms nothing happens. Can't abandon the quest either. Guessing this is a bug.

So I just watched Risha's scene on youtube...

Every time I think BioWare can't do the worst thing ever... they go and do the worst thing ever.

Well... gg I guess. I'll go back to recording the cutscenes for the good stuff and then I'm out. It's perfectly clear the story of TOR is dead.

There seems to be... too much negativity around this game and community right now. Maybe some of it is deserved, but seems kind of much at times. I would think that a real cutscene that's personal is still better than those annoying Alliance Alerts, right?

Still waiting for that Arcann romance though. I try not be disappointed, whatever it's going to be, 'cause it's still better than not having it at all. I hope we get some new companions soon... to replace the traitor for starters. Some new romances would be nice too...

It's ironic, perhaps, but if it meant a last ditch bandaid some of the group-only story content so that I could view them and check them off, I might actually be more inclined to resubscribe for a "maintenance mode" version of the game. Guess we'll see. Kotaku has a tendency to credit their posterior openings as "sources", though, so I'd take that article with a Death Star-sized grain of salt, though.

I would not mind buying it to finish the story off at some point once they are completely done.

I was planning on getting around to running some of my still level 60 characters through Iokath once I got them to the proper level but I don't know.  I mean, do you still keep your companions if you skip FE/ET?  If they stay then maybe I still will.

I've only played through the entire (solo content of the) game with my main so far. I haven't started KOTFE or KOTET with others yet. I still play all the class stories (having played all of them at least once). I always have ideas for new characters. Just started a new Chiss Consular. I usually take long breaks from playing SWTOR but always come back at some point.
