Star Wars: The Old Republic Discussion

Honestly, apart from the class stories, it's Operative heals that keeps me playing. Maybe I'm not min-maxed or practice 10 hours a day to be perfect in squeezing out every last hps, but I know that class, like no other. When I first made an agent I couldn't believe I could get both stealth and heals on one character. That seemed too good to be true. But it's there, a perfect fit for the story role I think, with utility up the ass. Prior to Disciplines it was my second most effective hybrid, behind sorcerer as I had put a fair amount of points into Medicine but still had enough to get a few attacks from the other trees. When they forced me to choose I went full Medicine and I'm glad I did. I forget how I started doing flashpoints (maybe it was the second 12xp when I'd be running Kuat to supplement my leveling) but when I did I was set. I remember thinking "ok, DPS are a dime a dozen and tanking scares the hell out of me. But healing is just the right mix of responsibility and reward. People like you (you keep them alive after all) and if things go wrong, it's rarely your fault." I skimmed a guide on the rotation and it was off to the races. These days I'm in better gear than I've ever been and in fairly top form. I won't be doing anything crazy like PVP or Ops, but I'll get you through an HM FP (unless it's Blood Hunt which can go fuck itself with a rusty shank) and anything lower, I can practically make you invincible (again, unless it's Blood Hunt, which can now progress to gangbanging itself with said rusty implements).

Otherwise I've also found myself enjoying the Rage/[guardian equivalent] spec of Juggernaut/Guardian. As a tank capable class you feel tougher but it's also got some nice one-two punch combos that feel good and no-nonsense, plus that one utility that resets my saber throw and Force Leap- makes combat fly by so much faster. My original Jedi was a sentinel so when I made a warrior I thought let's try something different. It was a good contrast- my sentinel, all flashy with dual sabers dancing around, while my Juggernaut just leaps in and beats fools, no fuss, just straight up pummeling. I ended up liking the spec so much that when I made my Knight clone for DvL, I made him a guardian with the same mirror spec. If I ever get around to it, I'll make him look older and he'll be the older, maybe wiser version of my first main.
