Star Wars: The Old Republic Discussion

One of the main reasons I stopped playing was because they 'force'* you to do group stuff for things like profs and the weapons.  I tried running several on my healer and it was just a nightmare.   Everyone I knew on that game stopped playing long ago I had no guild or friends to play with, so that was that.  The last xpac I truly enjoyed was Wrath.

*Yeah yeah, I get that no one is holding a gun to our heads.

When was the last time you play SWTOR? Class story have never been grindy since... 2015? Flashpoints are now solo-able. Group play are largely optional now.

There are no optional quests for me, because as I stated... I MUST do any and all quests given because I'm just that kind of player. So anything that requires a group to do turns me off of the game. 

That's why I wish it wasn't an mmo. Just make KOTOR 3 dammit

Sith Empire and Galactic Republic will be prominent again in 6.0.

But considering the way the story going, I still want to keep the Alliance instead of going back serving the interest of the faction. The Outlander has proven to be an effective kingmaker and its just an unhealthy position in a reignited conflict. Acina will want the Wrath back to secure her throne but Vowrown would come into the picture either way and I'll see whose loyalty he'll entertain. Considering two Darth tried to destroy my Alliance, safe to say, a lot of people in the Dark Council didn't want their Wrath back. And many are still mad at mine for saving Arcann.. I'd imagine they'll be extra mad if they found out Outlander is in a relationship with him (mwhahaha..). Republic would pose a direct threat since I deposed Saresh and Malcolm, they're without effective leader and still want everyone Sith dead.

Either way, politically, it would be interesting to see how my Wrath deal with things. However, I dread that the story would favor Republic winning as in the class stories.

Thana is Dark Side Kira

It varies a lot for me, and not just on the individual companions. I pretty much always prefer melee, because they make it easier to manage groups of enemies, but role depends on what AC/spec my character is, too. In general:
Prefer DPS companion when playing: Any tank or healer spec, any role when on a solo FP, any companion whose heal lines are messed up (Iresso)
Prefer Heal companion when playing: Guardian DPS, Sentinel, any DPS during Star Fortress bosses
Prefer Tank companion when playing: Everything else

That said, I'll also gear my spec to be efficient with the role I want my companion to take, too. For example, since Iresso's bugged as non-DPS, my Shadow who romanced him is a tank.

No, Thana is far to annoying to be Dark Side Kira. My main SW took great delight in killing Thana at the end of the Taris arc, that never gets old

About time. After having taken a break I came back to finish up the current story arcs and realized why the game was feeling so vanilla to me. It doesn't even feel like a Star Wars game anymore. The whole outlander story could have as easily been used in a Mass Effect DLC. There is no Sith and Jedi, no Empire and Republic anymore. The game really lost its way after you start the outlander stuff.

I thought that would be the end of TOR honestly, that once they wrapped that story up the game would be over. Now that we know that isn't the case they can't even give us a proper payoff for all that. Everything we did through those story arcs needs to be wiped out and reset to bring us all back into the Empire/Republic.

As much as the game needs it to be done if they are indeed moving forward, its still blows that all that effort was in effect for nothing.

I liked the Imperial Agent story the best out of all the classes (Like I said though, I never finished any of them lol). So I agree with JK story being boring.

I liked Bounty hunter for a while too.
