The Kroguard shotgun build with Reegar, incendiary. adrenaline, armored compartments, can be even faster. The Reegar attack can do about triple the damage of a melee attack.

If I'm using my melee kroguard against Geth on Gold (which is literally the easiest combination I've found in the game barring bronze, I find it oddly relaxing) I love using Disruptor. Why? Because I love seeing them do this...  Also Geth take less Incendiary damage (more shielded/more shields/no firedance) so if you're aiming to shave off seconds AP might serve you better than the Incin recommendation in this particularly unique case. Maybe even Warp? But do what's fun, ney? Given the lolcolyte (with the HB and melee stunner), shields are not a factor and they're very well primed for Fire Booms. Also for a speedrun with a melee build, as suggested above, the Dark Lord is a better choice, as you can get the sweet 50% melee bonus. But the main point for me is the satisfaction that you get bashing toasters. You got synced on platinum, because stunlock? Nothing is more cathartic than some hate-surfing (R)Troopers or Hunters, in a melee solo afterwards.  |

And yes, I can see that the Reegar would offer advantages over the Acolyte (being able to equip the [50%-damage] Omni Blade would be particularly welcome); BUT, the downside is that a Reegar-Omni Blade setup adds over a second to Biotic Charge's cooldown, which in turn means that you need survive that much longer before your shields are recharged: so I suppose it's a bit of 'six of one and a half dozen of the other,' and personal preference/ playstyle must enter the equation too. There is, of course, no wrong answer if you're after a laugh and that's what a particular build and/or loadout delivers. As Docsteely infers - when it comes to satisfaction and cathartic fun, there's a lot to be said for a melee-focused KroGuard over a weapon-based build of the same. |

Then spec for charge 6A and throw on a Cyclonic IV, Fitness 4B, 5A, 6B if you're worried about survivability. That shouldn't be an issue though with Fortification and Rage mode plus invinc frames from charge and DR from heavy melee. I agree with Doc, if you're going for speed then Reegar all the way. You could always go Phasic/Disruptor Wraith and weight glitch it too. |

Low: started what was supposed to be a quick bronze solo (before sleepy night nights) on Giant/unknown with the Quarian male engineer (so only equipped Grenade Capacity V), but neglected to switch from silver. Got Collectors and wondered why stuff was taking so long to kill, then, when it twigged that there was only one 'nade per ammo box, the penny dropped. High: five- and three-wave survived medals. Low: bloody flies! Got three awfully-placed sets of pizza collections. Used 3 rockets and 3 medi-gels. Game took 50.39 mins  . High: extracted, got paid and learnt (again) that it's sensible to check Settings before soloing . PS, I might've posted this in the wrong thread  |

I see what you mean, lolacolyte: you were talking about a weapon-based (Reegar) KroGuard build and I was focusing, still, on a melee-biased build with the shotgun's Omni Blade. Of course I'll check the thread and give your suggestions a whirl. Thanks for your interest and for taking the time to explain your thinking. |

Cloaked Javelin X shot with rank 6 Sniper Damage, full weapon damage in passives, and Sniper Amp 3 failed to kill non-possessed Abomination.
After failing wave 10 Raider Volus Adept (Gold) to a magnet grab from a Banshee. Having that happen in wave 1 after half a wave of lag spikes was a sign that that solo was not meant to happen today.

BansheeWarpDoT  As in what ultimately denied me my last night's attempt at Post-Traumatic Tiptree. It's the no dying on objectives waves tripped me again... Wave 3, Targets - nuked the first got it switched to marauders. In the hindsight should have left it to DC really since hunting marauders is a pain with all their buddies providing suppresive fire is quite a pain. Nuked another one, used a couple of ops packs getting a los long enough to cast dc/be Wave 6, Devices - lots of kiting and an ops pack just to be able to get away each time. No ops packs left as the result. Wave 10, Targets. first spawn two banshees and a marauder hence no switch. nuked the second one, switched to Brutes. a bit of kiting and thedc with bes took care of them. all of that and only to get the faceful of one of them warp balls shortly after Finished cleanup got through to extraction on the autopilot really. Sigh |

Decided to give a platinum solo another try, this time with Venom DAI combo. Actually didn't do too poorly, but by wave five, I was down to a single gel, because I forgot to check my six all too often. Banshee hug at wave five was almost a mercy. Still, this combo shows promise. Phantrolls are trivialized and bosses are pretty easy, thanks to buffed up recon mine. If I can train myself to check my surroundings more often, there's a chance, however small, that I may manage it.

Engineers take their tole all too often, they seem to shit those turrets SaveHolding your position is a very important thing.If you do so,at least on 4 wave(if the solo is vs derperus)you will be fine.Don't rush the objectives and stay calm under preasure.Also i have thousands solos with that combo,but i prefer venom or wraith or even claymore.Venom is love,venom is life. |

I feel lately that my ability to use space magic the Force cheese is diminishing. Nevertheless, @thetechnoturian and Clyde made me laugh re-reading this thread, and Heldarion Alquinn reminded me of my scrubbiness. Ergo, I shall go home from work early, (like, right now) and attempt Flawless with the Reegernaut. I have never soloed with his slow ass, kinda sounds fun all of a sudden. |
