What I really love about Merrill is her interest in anything new. "Oh a giant dragon! We are going there, right, right?"
She is way beyond good and/or evil, if she can grasp the concept

Handing over the mages to the templars brought me -35 in friendship with her, though it is the only solution where nobody dies. Killing Kelder on the other hand gives you positive feedback, being a mage who isn't really possessed but just evil crazy?.*

*when Lia (the elven girl) leaves, after you told them of Keldar's death, she looks weird closed up into the camera as if this is going to come back at me... is she now hosting the demon?

You can be fond of someone without it being romantic in nature.
