Just wanted to mention an attempt to upload the last device that was placed in the reactor....might've been wave 6

Anyway we was all right the entry of the reactor in cover behind the wall entry/column etc...but there was i believe two Primes along with rocket troopers, piros coming through....so i'm a demolisher, i think there was a Cabal, A turian, and  an Asari adept?.....but the geth faction was keeping us at bay at the other entry and whenever any one of us tried to go in there, it was like a million pulse cannons would erupt and the person would have to retreat.

This happened like 3 times with each of us trying and having to retreat,...then there was a weird moment where everybody stopped firing, looked at each other as if wondering *okay who's going to go in there?*.... ....of course time is winding down, then EVERYBODY rushed in...lol... ...it was a revive party until somebody just pulled out a rocket and ended the chaos... .....too funny...i think everybody had a few revive medals in that game...we made it to extraction, but that small moment was hilarious!

Lagging the whole day. I really cannot tell why. My connection seems to be stable - 14-20ms, 28mb download; 1,6mb/s upload. If I host, then I see people teleporting. Is it me or what? I use Leatrix Latency Fix 3. Why did the effing BW nuke the old forum? Everything was already there
Can someone provide me a link to a programme that checks host's ping? I'd use it in the past, but had a hardware clean up some time ago.

1,6 up, never host, ever, please, think of others. Personally, I wouldn't even play off-host with that, but NEVER EVER EVEN CONSIDER HOSTING. Uploading is as important as downloads in gaming, especially hosting.

Everything else is more than fine, but your uploads are attrocious.

I think your friends are too polite. Also, if you mean 1 MEGABYTE, that's fine, as that would actually be 8mbps. 1mbps is utterly worthless. Trying to host with under 5mbps is a kick in the quad to anybody else. We're dealing with technical limitations here, not just "personal preference." It's my "personal preference" to not play off-host at those speeds, but it's not prerefence stopping me from hosting at those speeds.

Additional information: Just to refresh people's memories, this is a Peer2Peer based system, with a validation server. This means all connections (host or off-host) are maintaining a connection with the validation server (In California, US, I believe) and the off-host peers each maintain a connection with the host. The host also has to manage the connection of all peers. The host's system not only calculates most of the game, but also negotiates the information between all 4 peers. Additionally, as a PS3 player, the coding is less optimized due to shitty hardware, so the strain is often even more noticable there.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I know it's crap but I have never ever had such a series with lag adventures. I'm not used to it even on my home network, which is even slower than that, with 30 ping, 10mb/s download and 0,8mb/s upload. I really cannot tell what's been going on lately with it. Thanks anyway.

I wondered about this.  My xbone tests at 300 down, 60 up.  Whenever I host, I will get somewhat laggy games on occasion.  I never understood why.


I don't host too often, because it takes forever to fill a lobby sometimes.  I'll keep a lobby when a host leaves though.  It seems to fill faster that way.  Don't know why.


 Now I'm rambling...

I suppose there must be more considerations at play than ping and up/download speed. Of course there exists a cut-off point where ping/speed falls below the parameters necessary to play the game. Does the platform (i.e. PC, Xbone etc.) used by players make a difference? Thing is, my ping is a steady sub-20ms, 15Mb down and 1Mb up (ish), yet sometimes I'm told my hosting is great and, conversely, that it's pretty laggy on occasion (but never that it's unplayable); and the kicker here is that the geographical location of the other players doesn't always seem to stack-up i.e. I'm in the UK (on PC) and it's not unknown for Europeans to report more lag than do Americans when I'm hosting. I have no answers, only suppositions  .

We typically end up with your host as we all seem to have difficulties connecting to eachother.

Lag is present, but it's not a problem. Not bad for Euros and Canucks. 

I rarely host even though I have a pretty strong connection (but capped U/L). Last test I did was 939.47 Mbps d/l, 37.27Mbps u/l.
