Seems it isn't as bad for many employees as the first to speak said. There's always two sides, and many different stories. I'm glad the social media ban got lifted for a bit. So no issue, same as any job with a deadline from what I read, and improving on this game.
Didn't bother my hype lol

Yesterday, Red Dead Redemption developer Rockstar Games lifted its social media policies, telling employees they were no longer banned from speaking about their work experiences on Twitter and Facebook. The move has led to a number of current staff sharing mostly positive stories from their time at the massive game company.
“First off, this was one of the most rewarding and least stressful projects I’ve worked on,” said Keith Thorburn, who works in the music department at Rockstar North in Edinburgh, Scotland. “I know what epic crunch feels like but this was managed in such a way that I felt happy and healthy.”
“In the time that I’ve been at the studio, work practices have definitely improved,” said Phil Beveridge, a coder at Rockstar North. “Crunch on Red Dead Redemption 2 has definitely been a lot better that it was on GTA V, where I was pulling a month of 70+ hour weeks (while being told by my boss at the time to go home...)”
“I have never worked more than maybe 50 hours a week (and that’s a rare occurrence), but I generally work about 2-6 hours of paid overtime per week,” said Vivianne Langdon, a tools programmer at Rockstar San Diego.
“I have been at Rockstar for two years, and worked on RDR2,” said Danny Bannister, a vehicle artist at Rockstar North. “I have never worked anywhere close to 100 hrs a week. There was some crunch sure but nothing ridiculous. We worked hard on the game but we weren’t being abused. I think the most I did on RDR2 was 60 for one week.”
(Just to conceptualise that, 60 hours would be five 12-hour days or six 10-hour days.)
“As a worker at Rockstar North, I should probably add my voice to the conversation going on around crunch,” wrote tools designer Tom Fautley.
“We do crunch. I’ve not seen anybody forced to work 100 hour weeks, but I’ve definitely seen friends get closer to that figure than is healthy. I am asked, encouraged and expected to work overtime (both nights and weekends) when coming up to a big deadline. The most I’ve ever worked in a single week during my nearly-five years here has been 79 hours, but that was not recently.”www.kotaku.com.au/2018/10/red-dead-redemption-2-developers-speak-out-after-rockstar-lifts-social-media-ban/They all said at gunpoint Nah I kid. Rockstar look to be taking care of their staff comparatively speaking. Nice to see The 100GB download size is NOT nice to see, but whatever

Rockstar look to be taking care of their staff comparatively speaking. Nice to see The 100GB download size is NOT nice to see, but whatever I personally never expected Rockstar to be forcing people to work 100 hours, to me that would be inviting either an investigation or a lawsuit. The problem is even with the tweets and even the interview they are demonstrating that people are doing and some are feeling obligated to do so. Maybe not at 100 hours, but I think it could get to unhealthy levels. I do wonder what the story would have been with Andromeda if the reports were instead of EA pulling people from different studios that they had a small group of employees working 100 hours because they choose to do so. It seems to be a similar story to me, but instead of making fun of BioWare people are coming to the defense of Rockstar, for I have seen people saying that the people are concerned about this are "first world problems" because those employees are paid well. With that said I do wonder how crunch works for EA and BioWare now for I have read that EA could actually be one of the better studios to work for now.

Probably "oh wow! This game is surprisingly free of bugs!" EA gets criticism for being anti-consumer, not for being anti-dev.

-snip- They all said at gunpoint Nah I kid. Rockstar look to be taking care of their staff comparatively speaking. Nice to see The 100GB download size is NOT nice to see, but whatever I don't completely discount either set of stories, as many who spoke up after the lift stated - it depends on managers, departments etc and everyone has a different experience. Nice to hear they are improving as they go and no company is perfect especially if they have a ton of employees. I'm not impressed with such a huge download xD I had to do some calculating to see how many games I need to uninstall from my console to fit it since I have a small drive space one. (500gb). it's gonna take up all the space in the end! lmao From what I've read up about it, it's everything I want from an RDR game.. apart from one thing. In this lady's opinion, the main protagonist, Arthur?, is uglier than Marston.

Since it's a R* game and it's right after GTA5, the biggest game probably sold ever (nearing 100 million copies), I don't doubt this red dead 2 will blow up, I can see lots if records bring broke the first week, hell probably the first day.
That said I myself actually don't like the old cowboy themes, it's to old school of a theme for me and I just never liked cowboys. Funny cause I'd watch a lot of John Wayne movies since my dad loves that stuff. I did try the first one, I made it like an hour lol. There is also the issue that I just don't like R* games anymore, not since San Andreas.

A very reliable leaker says RDR2 is coming next year to PC, maybe June or July @41:30. He's a guy who has accurately leaked lots of GTA updates in the past. Back in Sept. a Take Two rep contacted him and asked him to stop leaking, which he has. Not that this is a surprise to anyone but it's the most tangible evidence yet and anyone with a good PC should wait imo. The GTA5 port for PC is actually pretty damn good, and this game will be their first next gen title so I bet Red Dead will shine on PC.

Why wait a year when you can buy for pc and console.
I plan to buy the game twice. Because why not.

I'm conflicted!
I could play on the Pro, making excellent use of my new surround speakers. OR wait for the PC version that will maybe look a bit better if the game is well optimized. (I "only" have a GTX 1070.) A friend who wants to get the game too can only play on PC. If the MP allows co-op with friends then that's something worth considering.
I currently favor the PS4 version, however.

Buying on PS4 on release day. If I enjoy it enough to switch platforms if it comes out on PC I'll just buy a second copy. I've done that for quite a few games including DAO and Skyrim. Got console versions first, then swapped to pc later.

haha I kept my schedule completely empty. I'll buy AC Odyssey after I'm done in RDR 2. Priorities xD I've waited for rdr 2 much longer. Means I have been absolutely bored out of my mind waiting for release day though.
Bring me my sweet sweet wild west adventure!

Jason Schreier @jasonschreierI've talked to nearly 90 current and former Rockstar employees. Although their experiences varied, a pattern has emerged: Rockstar has a culture of intense overtime. Those who work there say they hope that by speaking out, things will change. Inside Rockstar Games' Culture Of Crunchkotaku.com/inside-rockstar-games-culture-of-crunch-1829936466This is a long article, but I hope you'll read it all. It's a rare look into a company that has been secretive for years. It includes thoughts from employees all across Rockstar -- including QA people at R* Lincoln, who work very long hours -- and my own strange trip to R* NYC.

If it's as kick ass on release as is being toted everywhere they at least can add,"the work hours sucked etc, now look what we did!"
It is far, FAR from the only industry that works it's employees incredibly hard. I guess that's why I'm not so sympathetic about it. Sure they can, and should with every right of voicing up, ask for things to relax a little bit, but in the end it is a job, and they can resign and find one far better suited within work conditions for them.
