I was all on Shirrako side at 1st, but now he's just posting videos for the sake of being edgy. I'm happy he got his channel back, but now he knows how YouTube operates. If they ban him a 2nd he's not getting any sympathy from me.
of course he is, it gets him views and attention. That's basically internet 101 . though the last couple of videos have pretty tame titles , for him anyway.
I'm not a supporter of his, never even watched any vids except one where he hunted down KKK encounters. Just not a fan of banning for something so completely silly (one sole npc getting killed was their reason). He only did more because it got him so many views *shrugs* that's how youtubers work.
That's fair I understand wanting to generate views, but I just think he's being childish at this point. He has a video titled beating up gay vampire because the vampire said I'll suck you dry. He has every right to post what ever video he wants. I'm just saying I don't want to hear him whining if YouTube makes another move.

Except.. she's not the sole representative of that group, and she is the only annoying one. That one just got a ban when surprise surprise worse irl stuff is absolutely fine on youtube.
This is a spoiler but it seems people don't realise that the one npc is not the only suffragette in the whole game -.-'

Both rely on shock value to get attention. And the hypocrites on youtube promote one, while the other gets censored. I think it's a perfectly valid comparison.

Rather you like the video or not it serves a purpose, and opened up dialogue. Shirrako on the hand is acting like a 12 year old posting immature content. I can't stand extreme SJWs who get offended for the sake of being offended, and I can't extreme anti SJWs who wants be edgy for the sake of being edgy. Like I said I'm not arguing against his right to post whatever he wants. One of his latest videos is about him taking a black NPC to the KKK. At this point it's clear he's daring YouTube to do something, and when they do I don't want to hear him whining.

The motivations are not the reason for my analogy, but the content. Both contain gratuitius violence for the sake of providing some form of entertainment. Be it killing a feminist in a video game to get a laugh from 4chan dwellers or showing people getting slaughtered in a music clip as a form of thought provoking social commentary on current day issues. Not to mention I only gave one example. Never mind the whole Logan Paul controversy, or the fact I can find hundreds of videos containing real life footage of people being murdered that never get taken down. The one and only issue I have is that youtube is run by ideologically biased twats who are far less concerned with protecting viewers from harmful content, and more corcerned making sure that only videos that conform to their worldview get promoted. While the opposite can easily get censored on a whim. I personally can't stand that at all.

I suppose they could have eliminated them from the game entirely as they aren't the first thing people think of when they see the words 'Wild West'. But, that was a movement that was going on during that time frame, and to exclude mention of that historical context; in a game who's major selling point is about playing in the historical western US; seems to be counter intuitive. As for the potential violence players can commit towards them, Rockstar isn't responsible for that any more than they would be guilty of animal cruelty when players hunt wild animals or shoot horses in the face, nor is Rockstar anti-police when players rack up five stars in GTA, and blow up law enforcement with a rocket launcher. All Rockstar did was create a sandbox for players to experience, what said players choose to do in that sandbox is entirely up to them.

I haven't finished the game yet (I did complete the Suffragettes). That said, it doesn't add anything to the game nor does it take away anything; it's just there. Which led me to believe that they had to have some idea this would happen, because GTA 5 is also that sandbox experience.

Which led me to believe that they had to have some idea this would happen, because GTA 5 is also that sandbox experience. That's a rather broad accusation to make towards Rockstar though. They created the game world and then inhabited it with NPCs yes, but then the player has complete freedom to choose how they interact with said characters; the suffragettes actually have the equality they were campaigning for in-game because they are no different than the male NPCs the player encounters. But Rockstar can't be held accountable for every conceivable action that players may do in their sandbox. Going by that logic, Rockstar is simultaneously a champion against minority discrimination, as well as a perpetuator of racism, since the player can kill all KKK members they see, or bring a hog-tied person of color to one of their meetings. They would also be for and against animal cruelty considering how the player can abuse their horses, or take steps to care for and bond with their steed. Going a step further, if Rockstar is guilty of misogyny because some players decide to assault a turn of the century feminist in their game, then BioWare is guilty of promoting violence against (holographic) children because certain players decided to shoot glow brat in the face.

So, who do you put the blame on then if it's not the player doing the action? Yes, you can ignore the KKK and the Suffragists all together. YouTube is a business not a government organization. Like James Gunn, they have the right to fire (or ban in this case) any YouTuber that may damage their brand. Just for the record, I did say part of the blame. I'm not putting this all on Rockstar's plate, btw.

"Oh no, a person posted a video of punching a collection of pixels in a video game that just so happens to look like a suffragette from the real world. Let's ban, boycott and sue anyone who we can remotely tie to this offense."As far as who's the most to 'blame' here in this particular instance: I would say that the Youtuber was definitely trolling for extra views, but YouTube did over react when they outright banned his channel; as well as showcase a bit of bias on their part since there are videos of other games that literally revolve around assassinating the president and yet they aren't flagged at all (not even a mature content warning).

Exactly, he was 'trolling' and he knew what he was doing to. The very next thing he uploaded after the ban was taking a Black man to the KKK. However, why that showed up in my recommendations in the first place I have no idea. I never knew who he was before this whole mess.

You watch one second of one video and then it assumes you want to see any and all videos related to the one you briefly glanced at. Yes the youtuber was 'trolling' but that is hardly a bannable offense when other 'trolls', like the content creators posting their playthroughs of presidential assassination games (and specifically making said president look like Trump in their videos), goes completely unmolested; unless, of course, Youtube was operating under a selective outrage bias.

I bought RDR2 early because I'm home with a weird stomach bug. I was planning on getting it for Christmas but then I found myself with some time on my hands. So I'm making the best of it. I totally get now why a lot of people don't like the game, especially the endless 2-3 initial hours with zero freedom that probably deterred quite a few people from giving it a real chance. It was a bit of a rough start for me as well. Not so much because you're basically stuck in an interactive movie for way too long but because the gameplay can be downright infuriating, making you fail quests all the time. At least *I* failed about 50% of them (and still do), sometimes multiple times because trying to remember which button does what is extremely confusing in the beginning. And then you can't even save manually as long as a mission is active and you have to rely on that godawful autosave function. I almost rage quit when I messed up that loong carriage passage down into the valley seconds before finishing it hitting a rock, having had to redo it all over again. And no matter if you died and respawn or just load a savefile, you never spawn where you were before. I constantly got disoriented the first few hours, thinking I loaded the wrong save. What is this shit?! I've been ambushed and gunned or knifed down before I could even react and navigate the radial menu to get the appropriate weapon to defend myself. Then your pelts are always gone. They are also gone when you fail a mission and restart the checkpoint. After a while this stops being funny... The first person camera is awful. The head bopping makes even *me* sick. But you HAVE to go into first person in cramped spaces or you can't see what the hell you're even looting! And then you have to fiddle around until you've highlighted everything so you can pick it up. One. By. One. Everything in this game takes forever.
And then you die because you didn't leave a farm fast enough you were just cruising by and the farmer starts shooting at you and your last save was 20min ago and no proper autosave and all your hunting was for nothing one way or another. Or maybe you accidentally shot a door and the entire town starts shooting at you...
The gameplay is all kinds of awful, inconvenient and just feels bad.
But... BUT once you surrender to the game being like this and just start enjoying this amazing jaw droppingly beautiful open world on a level of immersion I've never seen before, it starts to become a lot of fun. Gameplay really isn't very fun. The reviews were right about that. You're playing a very slow horse riding simulator. I'm having the most fun just taking it all in.
The first time I got into a thunderstorm in the marshes, knee deep in the mud, alligators and snakes and turtles around me, that was something else! And then I got even more impressed when the alligator I tried to hunt RAN away, into the deep water where I couldn't follow. Then I got horribly mauled by a bear an hour later. On the third reload I managed to fend it off with my bare hands, grab my knife and finish it off with a shotgun shot to the face. Arthur was almost dead, blood all over his clothes. Damn that was visceral!!!
The first time my beautiful horse with the cheesy name Hotshot hit a rock and sent Arthur flying I almost had a heart attack. DEAR CHRIST! This has happened countless times to everyone, I'm sure. But it still HURTS to see that, every damn time. It's so fucking brutal. I mean, the horse AI can be incredibly stupid. Like, WHY DID YOU NOT JUMP OVER THAT ROCK; HORSE?!? But the game sure has the most... impactful... horse accidents ever. I start to sweat just thinking about it... I live in constant terror of accidentally shooting it. Any time I point my gun instead of going into the horse inventory my mind starts screaming "Omfg, noooooo!!!"
Last time I was truly impressed with an open world was Witcher 3. RDR2 is yet on another level of immersive. Birds flying off startled when you rush past lakes on your trusted horse feels SO GOOD, there is so much wildlife everywhere. The dogs running around excited on farms, barking at you or wagging their tails. All the other farm animals. It feels alive like no other open world I've played. I walked around a pig pen in utter amazement, stupidly happy just watching them run around, lol.
Towns all have a distinct flair to them. So much variety in the terrain too. You can spend dozens of hours just riding around, setting up camp, cooking some dinner, feeding your horse, hunting a bit and then moving on to do the same thing all over again. It takes me forever to get to a quest location because I stop at night to camp and recharge.
I do enjoy the slowness of the experience now. But I can see how that's not what people expected?
Quests themselves are well written. Very cinematic. Often quite funny. That one famous gunslinger lady was a real blast! Loved it! However there is very little roleplaying in main quests. I was especially annoyed about the quest involving Micah. You HAVE to save him. Even though it would have been perfectly easy to let him die. But the game won't let you. I restarted the quest 4 times trying to make it play out differently until I went online and learned it's not possible. Quests are very very linear. Most of the roleplaying is done talking to random strangers. Arthur will hurt and kill people no matter what you might want. ...which is fine because you're playing a criminal. Arthur is not a good person. This may be an open world game but quests are linear and Arthur is a pretty set character, way more than Geralt. I don't particularly like Arthur myself nor his voice or his face. But I'm not that bothered by it either. I'm working on making him the least awful I can manage outside main missions. Let's see how it goes!
I would post cinematic screenshots if I had a USB storage device the PS4 accepts... *sigh*

Is nobody playing this game? Or is everybody playing it non stop and too busy to post? OK, then I'll just vent into the void my biggest source of PAIN, serious emotional pain, in this game: Stable limit of 4. Why, Rockstar???? WHY? Why are there so many beautiful breeds and I can only have 4 horses?!?! Every time I tame or buy a new horse, I have to make the agonizing decision which one to sell. I hate this. But I like riding different horses. Yesterday I sold one of my favorite horses, the gray Kentucky Saddler named Thunderbolt. Because it was a wild horse, I needed room for the small unique Nokota race horse. I had JUST tamed a Nokota I'd been dragging around as a pack mule for a few hours, loving it immensely. But since I can't just keep them all, I have to ditch these slow wild horses eventually. So listen to me, Rockstar: I would pay MONEY for a horse DLC! I'd pay ten bucks for a horse ranch. Let us have different horses in different stables. Why are my horses always in every stable anyway? I thought you were going for realism, yo! Or make it so that we can have one of each breed at least. And for the love of god, let me browse horses for sale even when I have already 4 so I can decide if I want to sell one for a new one. Gosh, there are so many nonsensical frustrating design choices and gameplay annoyances in this game. I still rage at least once per session at the stupid save mechanics and the fact that I get attacked and lose all my felts eventually whenever I go out hunting. Be it wolves, cougars or bandits. Yesterday I caught a legendary fish, saved. Got killed by wolves on the way back. Reloaded and of course the stupid fish was gone just like any other big pelt disappears even when you just load a save. Soooo I had to catch it all over again..... I've lost several hours of hunting progress to this shit and it makes me really angry at times. It happens so much that any hunting expedition becomes a nervous race against time. The longer the hunt the more likely something stupid happens and I lose progress.
Once I went fishing from my boat in the swamps. Then the game automatically spawned me on the shore for whatever reason where I got eaten by an alligator before I knew what was happening. WTF?! Gone was my perfect snake skin and whatever else I'd been gathering the past 15 minutes.
Argh.

I'm waiting until it is available on Steam next month, but wondered - for those who've picked it up, how are you finding the performance?
I've seen some fairly eye-popping articles about how hungry it is.

I'm waiting until it is available on Steam next month, but wondered - for those who've picked it up, how are you finding the performance? I've seen some fairly eye-popping articles about how hungry it is. These are my PC specs: Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz 32 GB Ram Nvidia 1080 Ti (higher than normal clock) 1440p GSync Monitor I used this video as a guide for my settings: Essentially a mix of Ultra and High settings. With my higher clocked setup, I was averaging 55 fps @ 1440 resolution. So a slight tweak might still be in order. But yeah, it's a performance pig. I haven't really been able to put it through its paces yet as is doing it's best to irk me at every turn. 1. Crashed 3x now. Once just in the keyboard menu. 2. Trying to use a mouse in the menus is a mess. 3. I had to google to figure out how to enable keyboard remapping, because the option isn't there when you first launch the game. You actually have to start the game, get through the cutscenes until you have control of your character, then the keyboard remapping menu becomes available. Then if you actually want to change anything, you have to hover over the key with you mouse (but don't click!!), hit enter, make the change, then get taken to a *full-screen warning* if it conflicts with anything, then hit enter again to take you back to the keyboard menu. Then rinse and repeat. Fuuuuuuuuuu... 4. It has built-in benchmarking - yay! But... with no live performance monitoring. Not even fps. You get a super-brief summary at the end, and that's it. It's just baffling. 5. Oh, and while it'll happily create a desktop shortcut for you - it's useless. It just pops up with an error telling you to launch the game from the Rockstar Launcher.

So, a game that looks absolutely stunning on a console can't get 60 fps with a GTX 1080 Ti (and a strong CPU) on PC?!?!? I very much doubt it looks 3-4 times better to justify this! Good grief, PC gaming has become the most expensive joke ever...

So, a game that looks absolutely stunning on a console can't get 60 fps with a GTX 1080 Ti (and a strong CPU) on PC?!?!? I very much doubt it looks 3-4 times better to justify this! Good grief, PC gaming has become the most expensive joke ever... Crappy port optimization and/or extra settings to crank up. Mind you that consoles make a lot of concessions to look good, sacrificing things that are not very noticeable in regular gameplay, plus the average FPS is usually around 30. Then comes the PC Master Race and says "I ain't playin on no Medium, yo. Full Ultra!". If we compare the graphic settings between PC and consoles, you might notice that a lot of stuff on the console is mostly equal to Medium-Low for PC. But it can take just one PC setting set to Medium or High to tank the FPS while making no visual difference otherwise.
Truth is that outside the Texture quality and maybe one or two other things, most settings give very little, if any, difference between High and Ultra and sometimes even between Medium and Ultra (but eats up to 50% more or less resources). Anything "Volumetric" is a performance killer while most people can't tell the difference between Low and Ultra Volumetric Fog and clouds (AC Odyssey, I am looking at you and the huge FPS boost I got from turning those things to Medium). "Shadows" are often something nobody notices if it's on Low or Ultra, but they eat a lot of resources for little gain. "Ambient Occlusion" is very nice on paper, but from the games I played I can't say I can tell the difference between Medium and Ultra, but Ultra always takes much more resources than Very High even. Any kind of "Reflections" is another huge FPS killer, especially in Rockstar games - easily fine on Medium or even Low most of the time. "Draw distance" - this is down to personal preference, but the truth is games become more and more complex, detailed and crowded and you will never escape some pop in textures. You might set everything to Low, but a cranked "Draw Distance" may still give you a game, where you average 5 FPS.
Additionally, PC ports often come with some reworked game assets that look and act better than on console, but eat up more resources.
I have a similar setup to Hrungr, so I expect the same results. It's a game that should be fine with around 60 FPS, which will be my target. Waiting for the Steam release or longer, depending on other factors.

saandrig I'm aware of all that. It's just annoying to me that they do this insane fps killer stuff for little gain. Makes me think it's the hardware industry pushing sales like crazy with these ridiculous requirements for maxed out graphic settings. I like my bling bling A LOT, but when my expensive PC is struggling with it, it makes me wonder why I even bother with PC gaming when I can get 90% as good on console, you know. Sure, mods. But now that Bethesda has gone to shit, that huge factor is becoming irrelevant for me. I wish I was one of those people who can't see the sometimes HUGE difference all that post processing makes. Assassin's Creed Syndicate is a good example, looks like SHIT without it. The game automatically adjusted the settings for 60fps (like many do) and I kept wondering why it looks so rough and ugly. Checked the settings, all the good stuff turned off. Turned it all on, 28 fps. WTF. But yeah, I slightly bumped down a few ultra settings and was good to go with around 40 (on a GTX 1070 at the time) which is FINE by me. But since when has Ultra become a joke setting for e-peen gratification idiots with too much money who upgrade their PC every year to the best card? Fuck PC gaming sometimes. Seriously.
