Considering that all except two skins are locked behind pay walls, with the legacy skin locked behind the Iron Crown collection along with an additional charge and the way the devs responded, the level of upset is hardly surprising. The practical thing is to ignore and not pay a dime for any of the skins, just enjoy the base game but some would not be able to resist. *shrug*
I don't play this game but it can't help being in the news.

I sense a lot of developer frustration, probably because the game can't hit the projected "realistic" EA revenue targets.
This 235$ (or 200$ if you don't care for the 35$ axe) event fiasco could have been easily avoided. I don't play the game, but even I hear about it and am amazed not by the fact that EA wants to squeeze every cent of it's customers, but by the silly methods they use. I read up a quick summary of the event notes when it launched and even to me it was clear the whole point of the event wasn't the gameplay/quests/updates. They could have summed up the notes with "gimme 200 bucks" since clearly that was the only reason for the whole update.

EA is upset because they couldn't successfully nickle and dime all of their Marks, and were even called out by them for such a blatant attempt. Lol freeloaders.

Yeah saw that, that dev is a moron, very disrespectful.
I haven't put in a penny mostly because I'm not a fan of the current cosmetics but definitely not going to support the devs now

Unreleased Apex Legends character Newcastle was uncovered in a huge leak in March, but what are their abilities, and are they the Season 13 Legend?
Although Respawn releases a new Legend every three months with the seasonal update, the community is always looking for clues about upcoming characters ahead of time.
This information usually comes from dataminers who trawl through the game files looking for any hints about who is arriving in the Outlands next.
Occasionally, major leaks surface from insiders who manage to record gameplay from the dev’s version of Apex. Well, that’s exactly what happened in March with the leak revealing nine unreleased Legends, multiple new weapons, and even Heirlooms.
Out of all of the Legends that were uncovered, Newcastle has received most of the attention, and based on the recent teasers, it looks like he’ll be the new face arriving in Season 13.If you are looking for Apex Coins and Packs, just google search Aoeah and check it out, use code FORUM for discount!
Who is Newcastle in Apex Legends?
In terms of lore, a clue from the Korean version of Apex Legends may have revealed that Newcastle is Bangalore’s brother, Jackson.
While completing the Jackson Bow Challenge, Twitter user locojung522 noticed that the subtitles for the male voice refer to Newcastle while playing a piece of audio from Jackson.
In the line after Newcastle has spoken, Bangalore even responds with her brother’s name: “Jackson! Hold on tight”.
If this is true, we already know a lot about Jackson thanks to the Gridiron Story from the Outlands that arrived in January.
It’s worth noting that the subtitles may be a mistake, but it seems unlikely given the recent focus on Bangalore ahead of Season 13’s release.
Newcastle abilities in Apex Legends
When it comes to gameplay, the major leak that was posted to the ApexUncovered subreddit in March showcased all of Newcastle’s abilities.
It’s worth noting that the abilities and animations in the clip could have changed since this was recorded, it’s even possible some of them have been scrapped, so take the leak with a pinch of salt.
Finally, although KralRindo’s watermark is shown at the bottom right of the clip, the dataminer has denied that they were the source of the leaks.
Falling into the Defensive category, Newcastle’s kit revolves around protecting allies from gunfire and reviving teammates in safe positions. Check out the ability descriptions below:
--Passive: Retrieve The Wounded – Drag downed allies as you revive and protect them with your Revive Shield. --Tactical: Mobile Shield – Throw a controllable drone that creates a moving energy shield. --Ultimate: Castle Wall – Leap and slam to a target ally or area and create a fortified stronghold.
Will Newcastle be added in Season 13 of Apex Legends?
With the April 7 patch, Respawn added the first set of teasers for the Season 13 update and they indirectly confirmed that Newcastle will be the new Legend arriving in early May.
Appearing on a banner in the Control mode, a giant sign included a silhouette of Newcastle with the statement: “The wait is over, he’s here!”.
Although some of the community are worried that the devs are attempting another Forge scenario, this seems almost impossible given the huge leaks that surfaced in March.
So, for now, it’s safe to say we can expect Newcastle to arrive in Season 13, but his finalized abilities will likely remain a mystery until their official reveal.
Rest assured, we’ll update this article with any new leaks or rumors as soon as they surface. Don’t forget to check out alphaINTEL for all the latest Apex Legends news and updates.

Apex Legends Season 13 Ranked Reloaded: Major Ranked mode changesThe Apex Legends Ranked system will be overhauled during the forthcoming Season 13. Here is everything we know about the upcoming changes. The Ranked system was introduced way back in Season 2 of Apex Legends. As the Apex community’s competitive hub, Ranked became the true test of who was the cream of the crop within Respawn Entertainment‘s battle royale. However, in the last few seasons, pros and players alike have called on Respawn to make significant changes to the Ranked system, offering countless ideas and suggestions. Well, the devs are overhauling the competitive mode in Season 13 with the Ranked Reloaded rework and they’ve finally announced all of the fresh changes. If you are looking for Apex Coins and Packs, just google search Aoeah and check it out, use code FORUM for discount! Apex Legends Season 13 Ranked Reloaded
For starters, the heavily requested feature of demotion is finally being introduced to Apex Ranked, occurring when a player’s RP falls below the minimum value for that rank and they’ve exhausted their demotion protection. Demoted players will be pushed down to the midpoint of the next lowest tier. Next, players will be rewarded RP when another member of their squad picks up a kill, and the kill RP cap has been removed. However, the base value of each elimination will be worth increasingly less down to a minimum. When it comes to assists, the assist timer has been increased from 10 seconds to 15 seconds, giving players more of a window to receive credit for their hand in an elimination. Another huge addition is the introduction of the Rookie rank, which will act as an introductory tier to Ranked play which standard players cannot re-enter once they’ve left, giving new players a place to learn the ropes. On top of this, match entry RP costs are now going to be adjusted based on a player’s rank, with Rookie being completely free and Master and Predator costing the most. Finally, the value of each kill or assist that you rack up will be adjusted based on match placement, giving players the incentive to balance placing highly and hunting down eliminations to maximize their RP gains. Apex Legends Season 13 Storm Point map changes: New Downed Beast POIThe Downed Beast POI and IMC Armories have arrived on Storm Point in Apex Legends Season 13 and they’re going to shake up the tropical map. Season 13 of Apex Legends is on the verge of kicking off and while the community is excited about the arrival of Newcastle, a lot of players are focused on the significant changes coming to Storm Point. Although the tropical landscape was only introduced to Apex back in Season 11, it has so far split opinion in the player base, so in Saviors, Respawn is looking to freshen up the experience by adding a new POI and a new way to upgrade your weapons. As showcased in the launch trailer, a giant beast attacked Storm Point but was defeated by the Legends. This sea creature is now a new POI for players to explore and loot during their matches. Finally, IMC Armories are now scattered across the map in a variety of locations, giving competitors a chance to upgrade their gear, if they can survive an onslaught of Spectres. New Storm Point ‘Downed Beast’ POIThe most significant change coming to Storm Point in Season 13 is definitely the Downed Beast POI that allows players to fight inside the carcass of a giant dead sea creature. A high-tier loot area, Downed Beast is filled to the brim with top-tier items, especially in the belly of the beast which will no doubt be heavily contested at the start of a match. However, with buildings surrounding the washed-up monstrosity, it may be worth setting up in power positions outside the animal to catch unsuspecting enemies off guard or even use the Gravity Cannon to get on top of the creature. It’s worth noting that the Downed Beast POI hasn’t replaced any of the other locations on Storm Point, so The Mill and North Pad will remain intact. Either way, this is without a doubt one of the most unique POIs that’s ever been added to Apex and it’s almost guaranteed to be a hot drop location for the foreseeable future. Storm Point ArmoriesFollowing the seismic activity caused by the giant beast on the Storm Point coastline, dormant IMC Armories have risen up from underground across the map. These mini-event areas give players a chance to take on waves of Spectres and in return, they’ll be able to upgrade their weapons with better hop-ups and attachments. The rewards for surviving the 60-second onslaught come in the form of Smart Lootbins which cater upgrades to your specific loadout, meaning you’re always going to receive useful items.

Season 13 has introduced the Heroic Defender Newcastle to Apex Legends and all of his abilities revolve around protecting his squadmates. Here are our top tips for how to play Newcastle in Apex.
Season 13 of Apex Legends kicked off on May 10, and Newcastle was the main attraction of the update, alongside the Ranked overhaul. With a defensive kit that’s centered around protecting his teammates at all costs and dragging them to safety, Newcastle is perfect for those who prefer to take a more selfless role in a squad. Although mastering his kit won’t be an easy task, those who put in the hours will be capable of shielding and protecting their aggressive teammates, giving them the best chance of securing the victory. How to use Newcastle’s abilities in Apex Legends Passive: Retrieve the Wounded
Newcastle’s Passive Retrieve the Wounded allows the Heroic Defender to drag downed allies as he revives and protects them with his Revive Shield. The durability of the Revive Shield is determined by the tier of Knockdown Shield that Newcastle has equipped. Tactical: Mobile Shield
Newcastle’s Tactical Mobile Shield deploys a drone that projects a moveable energy shield. By reactivating the ability, Newcastle can command the shield to float in a specific direction, allowing him and his teammates to retreat or push toward an enemy squad. The shield lasts a total of 20 seconds if it’s not destroyed and is made up of a top and bottom section, each deflecting a total of 350 damage. Ultimate: Castle Wall
Newcastle’s Ultimate Castle Wall allows him to leap to an ally or target area and slam down, creating a fortified stronghold wall that provides cover. In total, the ability has a 120-second cooldown and each section of the wall has an impressive 750 health. Not only that, the outward-facing side of the wall is electrified, stunning and damaging enemies who attempt to climb over it. Key tips & tricks for Newcastle in Apex Legends 1.Keep a close eye on your teammates
As simple as this tip sounds, it’s absolutely essential that you stay in Ultimate range of your allies at all times, as the Newcastle’s kit is completely centered around protecting his teammates. While playing Legends like Octane, Wraith, and Bloodhound, you can afford to stray a little too far away or hyper-focus on securing a kill. However, as Newcastle, your abilities are so invaluable to your teammates, that it’s important you’re always ready to leap to their safety or drag them out of danger if necessary. Remember, Castle Wall has a leap range of 35m, so that’s a rough guide of how close you should stay to your squad at all times, just in case they run into trouble. 2. The silent revive technique
Although Newcastle’s Passive is ideal for aiding fallen teammates during intense gunfights, it can be a hindrance when you’re looking to pull off a stealth revive under the nose of your opponents. This is because the Heroic Defender’s res-animation makes more noise than any other Legend on the roster, immediately giving away his position. Well, as showcased by Apex Legends YouTuber More OhDough, if you unequip your Knockdown Shield before reviving a teammate, the res is almost completely silent. Of course, this is a trick that won’t always be useful, but when you’re looking to remain undetected, it’s a technique that could save your entire squad. 3. Reach vantage points with your Ultimate
As Castle Wall is on a 120-second cooldown, it’s an ability that you should be using regularly to gain advantages for yourself and your squad. While its primary use is protecting allies from gunfire, it can also be utilized to leap up into vantage points and power positions. This can be incredibly useful in the late game when you want to get the high ground over your opponents. Of course, this does have a chance of backfiring as you may not have the ability ready to save a teammate, but it’s definitely a trick worth having in your back pocket. Hopefully, this guide has given you plenty of tips and tricks to completely master the new Legend Newcastle.

Apex Legends Saviors is an engaging update that shines bright with the addition of Newcastle and Ranked Reloaded but is let down slightly by an underwhelming set of Storm Point map changes.Breaking its Steam player count record with the release of Season 13, Respawn’s battle royale Apex Legends is more popular than ever and continues to build a passionate community of players. With its thirteenth season arriving on May 10, ‘Saviors’ aimed to refine Apex’s most competitive mode with Ranked Reloaded, spruce up the Storm Point map with a new POI, and of course, introduce Newcastle to the roster. While Season 13 certainly delivered with the Heroic Defender Newcastle and heavily requested Ranked Reloaded rework, an underwhelming set of map changes has left the update feeling slightly lackluster. If you are looking for Apex Coins and Packs, just google search Aoeah and check it out, use code FORUM for discount! Apex Legends Saviors Key DetailsPrice: Free Developer: Respawn Entertainment Release Date: May 10, 2022 Platforms: Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch Newcastle – The protector the Outlands neededWhenever a character is leaked ahead of an intended update, there’s always a concern that the hype and excitement will die down for their official release. Fortunately, this hasn’t been the case for Newcastle whose selfless and heartwarming personality has immediately established him as a fan-favorite Legend. Of course, Respawn has also ensured that the Heroic Defender’s abilities are just as intriguing as his backstory. With a kit that’s completely centered around protecting allies from gunfire and dragging them out of danger, Newcastle is a hybrid Defensive Support Legend who thrives when the odds are stacked against his squad. The most impressive aspects of Newcastle’s abilities are in the details that are easy to miss. These include the tier of Knockdown Shield determining the strength of his Passive and making it possible to redirect his Tactical. Not only does this encourage players to communicate with their team when playing Newcastle, but it also ensures his kit is dynamic and capable of adjusting to any encounter, making him a true protector in the Outlands. Perhaps most importantly, Newcastle’s entrance to the Apex Games feels balanced and fair. There’s no x-ray vision or scans hidden away in his kit, he’s a Defensive Legend with a useful set of tools that’s slotted straight into B-tier for the best Legends to use in Season 13. Ranked Reloaded – More competition than ever beforeFor countless seasons, Apex pros and competitive players alike had been calling on Respawn to address the issues facing Ranked and introduce a set of heavily-requested features. Well, the devs decided to do exactly that in Saviors, and overall, Ranked Reloaded appears to have been an overwhelming success. By far, the most impactful feature of the update has been demotion as its added a level of risk once a player reaches a specific tier. Competitors can no longer lock in their desired rank once they’ve hit their goal, instead, players will be demoted if they receive a certain amount of losses in a row. While some members of the community have complained this system is too grindy, it does ensure that the skill level of players is more equally distributed and makes higher ranks more of a challenge to obtain. With changes to assists. the Rookie rank for new players, and teamwork-based RP, Ranked feels like a more competitive mode that rewards players who are willing to put in the hours and practice. Storm Point map changes – A set of underwhelming additionsAs always, Respawn delivered another incredible launch trailer ahead of the release of Saviors, showcasing the Apex roster defeating a menacing sea creature that had invaded the island. The Legends made short work of the monster which now makes up the new Downed Beast POI, a visually impressive area that feels slightly underwhelming considering the size of Storm Point. Although the carcass of the beast is filled with top-tier loot and is incredibly fun to traverse, there have been no fundamental changes to the map that are quickly identifiable. This can make it easy to forget that the POI has even been added, or notice any differences between Season 12 and Season 13 Storm Point. Unfortunately, this issue carries over to the IMC Armories, a brilliant feature that are too easily missed in the chaos of battle royale matches. With only four of them on the map, they’re more of a mini-game that players run into once every 10 matches, than a feature that squads will go out and seek to complete. While both of the changes made on Storm Point in Season 13 are positive, they lack punching power and memorability, two important aspects for keeping players invested until next season. Battle Pass – The best set of rewards yetAfter improving the battle pass in Defiance, the devs have taken another step forward in Saviors and introduced what can be considered the best set of rewards yet. While the filler collectibles between tier 1 and 100 are still present, it’s the instant upfront unlocks that really make this reward track shine. With Gilded Grappler Pathfinder, Lava Queen Mad Maggie, Firewall Newcastle, and the Wyrmborn CAR all immediately unlocked as soon as you buy the battle pass, Respawn has knocked it out of the park with the upfront Epics and arguably one of the best Legendary weapon skins in the game. As expected, tiers 25 and 50 both provide two impressive Legend skins with Sir Fitzroy Fuse and Feral’s Future Bloodhound. Tier 100 and 110 do not disappoint either, offering the incredible Winter Soul and Molten Soul Spitfire skins that each boast impressive visual effects. While there’s still room for improvement when it comes to the battle pass, Respawn are heading in the right direction and have upgraded the rewards for two seasons running, let’s hope the trend continues. Rating 8/10Season 13 of Apex Legends is a solid update that feels slightly underwhelming in terms of the quantity of content but certainly doesn’t lack quality. Whether it’s the Heroic Defender’s balanced and versatile set of abilities, the Ranked Reloaded update filled with heavily requested features, or the improved battle pass, it’s obvious Respawn put a lot of effort into Saviors. Unfortunately, the positive but lackluster additions to the Storm Point map let Season 13 down, and may leave the community wishing that Respawn added a new weapon or LTM in Saviors, just to give the update the memorability and replayability it’s missing.

Following the release of Apex Legends Season 13, Respawn’s iconic battle royale has surged to the top of Twitch and looks set to remain there.Apex Legends Season 13 has been out in the world for quite a while now, introducing players to lovable new Legend, Newcastle, and his touching story of family, hardship, and redemption. While for some 13 is an unlucky number, the game has grown exponentially since the new chapter’s debut, shattering its player count record on Steam and proving that the game is very much alive and kicking. Apex hasn’t only dominated Steam, though; it has skyrocketed to the top of the Twitch charts, clocking in as the platform’s most-streamed game since Season 13’s release. If you are looking for Apex Coins and Packs, just google search Aoeah and check it out, use code FORUM for discount! Apex Legends dominates Twitch post-Season 13Following the arrival of the new season, Apex has beaten out the likes of Valorant and Fortnite to secure the top spot on Twitch’s ‘most streamed games’ list. According to data obtained via SullyGnome, the hours streamed has spiked by 4% (a considerable amount given the size of Twitch,) a total of 1,781,233 hours have been broadcast since Season 13 first dropped. Valorant has slipped down the table to second with quite a considerable drop (7.7%), and is flanked by Fortnite and League of Legends. Given that LoL’s premier global tournament, MSI, is currently being broadcast on the streaming behemoth, this is even more shocking. Apex Legends has been the most streamed game on Twitch since Season 13 started. Terrible Apex Legends bug creates instant death location on Storm Point mapAn Apex Legends player encountered a bug on Storm Point map that sent them straight through the bottom of the map and directly to their death. As Season 13 for Apex Legends continues to play out, fans of the popular FPS have been exploring new updates as well as the new character, Newcastle. On top of an all-new character, Storm Point has received some massive changes including massive Downed Beast carcass players can battle inside of in the middle of the map. Although the changes to the map are exciting, one player encountered an unintended glitch on the map that ended their match instantly. Storm Point map glitch insta-kills Apex playerReddit user Chieres posted on May 24 a clip that instantly shot up to the top of the Apex Legends subreddit. The gameplay clip they posted showed Chieres playing Seer on Storm Point gliding directly through the ground, then under the map, then descending to their death. Chieres didn’t even have a chance to play out the match as the specific spot on the map was seemingly bugged, allowing them to grind right through it to their untimely demise. Their post was titled, sarcastically, “Thank you, Respawn, very cool.” The clip has amassed over 8,000 upvotes and 300 comments since it was posted. One user in the comment section has encountered a similar bug and said, “Similar thing happened to me last night, but instead of breaking through the floor, the landing animation never triggered, so I just watched Fuse torpedo into the ground and ricochet into a building at full drop speed. Had a good laugh.” This isn’t the only glitch that’s allowing players to get under Apex maps.
