Hello BSN Community. Here's an all-new ME3 mod with a proof of concept and WIP footage.
Here's the skinny: Your Choices Matter(TM) AKA YCM Mod is a mod that removes all autodialogue and restores neutral choices as well as unused dialogue and story paths to Mass Effect 3.
A mod that trilogizes dialogue wheels, A mod that puts player agency back where it should be.
An addition that provides choices that matter™!
You want it? You'll have to wait a bit longer but for now, I have videos!
Your Choices Matter(TM) Will Restore The Dialogue Options YOU Want!
Q&A Q: Where can I download it? A: Not yet, no NexusMods page either, because it's a work in progress and I only have until a point in Menae, so I'll keep people posted.
Q: Does this change the outcomes I can get? A: The short answer is probably "no". This mod is supposed to ADD things to the game, not change or remove things. At worst there are choices that will cut dialogues short, but those are designed for players who find certain parts obnoxious, uninteresting or over-indulgent.
Q: Can I try your mod? A: Okay, but you're gonna have to ask politely, and I can't promise you won't run into painfully obvious glitches in its current state.
Q: Will you let me have my Normandy Orgy with all the sexy aliens that I always wanted to have? A: You're gonna have to slow down a little bit... it's coming, maybe.
Lastly, I would like to ask anyone here, because I need your help: If my job is to create more than 170% the amount of dialogue choices and wheels the original game has, I need YOU guys to help me decide which choices the game actually needs. I have a fair grasp myself of how to translate much of the spoken dialogue into paraphrases, and add new choices that follow Armando Troisi (Cinematic Designer of ME1 and 2)'s "The Agreement" aka "Give the player the choices they WANT to have." I just need someone who has a passion for Mass Effect as a trilogy to tell me what particular choices you felt BioWare never allowed you to have in Mass Effect 3. I can make fairly large alterations to the plot if I really have to, but I make no promises. However, simple dialogue choices with your favorite characters or certain moral conflicts that weren't fleshed out in the direction you hoped, is something I can look into.
So if you guys have any suggestions, I gladly take them!

Nice.
I fear I can't offer anything in the way of help, but for what it's worth, I hope this mod reaches completion very soon.
A question I do have is, are you planning on making it compatible with the EGM mod?

Looking fantastic so far!
My suggestion would be to replay 1 & 2 sometime and take notes on the phrases used to represent the different choices.

Here's snippets of my latest progress. As we speak I've rid the game of rollercoaster autodialogue between Earth:Vancouver and Priority: Palaven. I'd say I've covered 15% of the game already (2.5 months of sporadic work!) First video showcases an extended dialogue with more choice at the beginning if you import and didn't romance Ashley. The decisions and options available depend on what the plot-state is, naturally. And here's a footage video of a lot of scattered work, just so I won't give all of it away!

If you didn't watch it, here is my N7 day update and fun little trailer. It re-introduces the features of my mod and shows some of the changes to the game so far.

I'm sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. Would love to give feedback and help in any way I can. A couple of questions:
Will this be compatible with Backoff? I'm guessing that would be very hard if not impossible. I never hated the amount of conversations the base game has with Liara, but, iirc backoff fixes some non dialogue related bugs other mods don't.
Will the mod have any impact on the paragon/renegade system? The game could do with more chances to increase renegade score while still making paragon major choices and visa versa. Base game makes it hard to be a true paragrade or renegon.

With my limited understanding of how ME3 modding works, the two mods should be compatible without anything special needing to be done. EGM to my knowledge doesn't do anything with dialogue so there shouldn't be anything which creates a conflict.

Compatibility is secondary to me right now. I've been developing it solely from Vanilla and DLC files without overlap from other mods. When I'm done I will get the support I can from other modders to make compatibility work. So far we're talking maybe 15% done? I have Earth until the beginning of Sur'Kesh and all main dialogues between those levels reworked with more dialogue options, and a bunch of additional side things, and 30% of Normandy's characters overhauled to have cutscene-conversations with choices instead of ambients. There will still be ambients but only when it seems like it isn't taking away a potential personal player-to-crew moment. You will be able to hit the investigate dialogue any time they run out of other things to say. As for Paragon and Renegade, YES. I've been editing the Paragon and Renegade rewards a few areas. Sometimes I cheat a bit with a Paragon or renegade choice leading to the same spoken line (and I try not to overdo this!) But I've done it in a way in which you actually get +2 to either morality depending on that choice. There are times that now have opportunities such as getting +5 to Paragon, +5 to renegade OR +2 to reputation and such. As we know some of the final Illusive Man persuades require a high default rep and Paragon or renegade total, so I try to make sure I don't over-reward or undermine the base game balance too much. I'll need a lot of time when the new content is done to actually test all this. Overall the solution to paragade/renegon is that the game will be full of neutrals, which means you can get across dialogues without feeling forced to have a moral alignment about an issue, take paragons where you feel like it and renegade when you're in the mood.

Got to say, I like it that Hackett didn't automatically know Anderson wasn't commandeering the Normandy. I also like having the dialogue options even if they don't ultimately go anywhere.

'Yeehaaa' might be better fitting for casual difficulty than for insanity. But a great Idea, even If I probably won't see many variations then...

I figured the Yeehaa goes in Insanity because it's gettin crazy
And on a more serious note, the higher you set the difficulty of combat I figure the more likely you aren't playing for the story or choices.

Ah, I felt the higher the difficulty, the more intense and/or serious the situation becomes. In which case something that loco would be weird. But I guess you are right w.r.t. the difficulty relation to replaying cause. (Though I guess I would have phrased that exactly the other way around, the lower the difficulty the less likely someone plays for the combat.)

(Though I guess I would have phrased that exactly the other way around, the lower the difficulty the less likely someone plays for the combat.) If you don't like to play it, then what else are you there for but the story and characters?
I put the two most dramatic lines in Normal and Narrative. Normal has the vanilla line and Narrative he says "Not if I can help it!" And really they are all just flavors of the same thing. Insanity is the most "bonus" line of them all, where I assume you've at least played the game once on Normal or Hardcore before diving into the toughest challenge.
And there is a new followup dialogue before you hit the Citadel in which depending on certain conditions Liara will inquire you about James as an addition to your unit where you evaluate if you think he's okay or too reckless.

Yes, but I have taken a couple of breaks along the way, so it's been on hold a few times throughout the years due to life and motivation. I'm 100% getting it done though.
