Do I have to have a 64 bit Operating System to download and use mods for any of the games? I need apparently for nexus (Skyrim) and was wondering if the same applies here. Thanks in advance.

Depends on what mod do you want to install. Mods that add some new content to the game are often in DLC format - you just drag-and-drop folder to the game files. As they only contain modified files that come from original game, they should work on 32bit. Other mods (eg. texture ones) require use of user-made programs which aren't abandoned and require 64 bit now. Maybe you can find some ancient 32bit versions, but their quality may be poor - operations will proceed slower, if at all. I bet you won't see any support from devs either.

To add to that: Texture mods (especially the large ones like MEUITM for ME1 or the ALOT packages for all three games) may require more memory than the OS will allow the game. Or rather: they might require up to all the memory that a 32bit OS can handle.
