You and your friends know who you are, exactly why you responded lol. Attacking Jason for putting out the truth, and doing what a Journalist should be doing. People are laughing at his meltdown, nothing more. They’re not denying what BioWare is doing and if you read my response. I said I didn’t think Jason was lying. Meltdown? Where?

I do wonder whether Mark Darrah / Mike Laidlaw's serious trimming of content in May 2014 (and the 6-week launch delay) 'saved' DAI. There was criticism of the cut content ('Crestwoodgate') but they got the game shipped with just few enough bugs for that not to become the story. I suspect BioWare dodged a bullet with DAI.

You can find fault with Jason's personality as much as you'd like but it doesn't really detract from the quality of his reporting or what he's saying, Bioware/EA isn't even bothering to disagree on the particulars just the way he's arranged it.

By all accounts... they did. But it's sad to hear that there were devs hoping it would fail, in the hopes that working conditions would improve at BW.
It's just a sad situation all-around...

Will you be satisfied when finally someone will kill their first dev? Will you be satisfied when someone will finally kill himself because years ago he made mistakes and wasn't able to find a job anymore and the internet keep haunting him?
It's much more likely that a dev will have a stroke or heart attack from the stress Than be murdered by a fan. Jason's article helps ameliorate this by exposing bad practices. Come to think of it um..Corey Gaspur. Do anyone know what was his cause of death?

Anyways knowing him bioware did the right thing and furthermore their response was bang on. A. All he has is anomonys sources. No quotes, no names, no nothing. B. "Former employees" are kind of a questionable source to begin with since they have an axe to grind. I'm not sure it's reasonable to expect on-the-record statements from current employees for a story like this.

So *cracks knuckle*. Guess whose raised their head again? Anyways knowing him bioware did the right thing and furthermore their response was bang on. A. All he has is anomonys sources. No quotes, no names, no nothing. B. "Former employees" are kind of a questionable source to begin with since they have an axe to grind. C. Which he seems to have one of those against bioware for some reason. That and some of the other things he has done makes me both question him and Kotaku for employing him. Anyways *shrugs* we'll just have to see who is right but looking from the outside once again the media looks like they are trying to create a story rather then report on one. Right, like any developer is going to commit career suicide by publicly outing themselves... exactly. But that makes this conversation moot. Until we have more to go on then the word of a journalist with questionable integrity there is literally nothing to discuss here.

Jason mentioned Jon Warner specifically in the article and vaguely painted him as someone in over his head...which he may well be. Regardless, it's no shock they "neither confirming nor denying" I mean I know why Hanako phrased it that way, I just wanted to call it out. The answer is very clearly "bad man says bad things about Mommy BioWare who is perfect so he is WRONG". Your not really contributing much either with retorts such as this.

The blog doesn't address the Schreier article key points and was obviously posted without knowledge of Schreier's full article. In an attempt of pre-emptive witch hunt mitigation.

Perhaps, organizational changes might be needed, or may have already occurred for all I know. I'm just saying, a public blog post isn't the place for it and wouldn't be very professional or good for morale. Do you think the developers of FF14 had good morale after their broken, poorly planned game was raked over the coals? Of course not. I would be more disturbed if they did. But they also owed up to their mistakes, apologized profusely (some would argue too strongly) and vowed to make it right... You don't need to publicly flog your own employees obviously, no one should ever do that, under no circumstances. But neither should you possibly make public reception of you worse by what can be interpreted as being dismissive of a journalist doing what he is paid to do. Get to the truth. But people don't like truth, because truth hurts. I don't feel the need for an apology, but it's their own internal morale and employees they need to be making things right with. The end user benefits with a better product if they can manage that. Public reception is about optics not truth, and that itself is a truth I don't like. But I would rather Bioware remain quiet and take real action, than issue an empty apology to soothe public perception, which will no doubt be met with cycnism anyway.

I think the shakeup at the top with Hudson on board is a major component on that, along with the decisive choice to use the code on Anthem for the next Dragon Age game. Whatever game they make it will likely have a clearer vision and hopefully quell the egos. After all, the problems expressed, outside of the crunch, stem from the rudderless period before Hudson returned.

I got to side with Jason Schreier on this one. That was a weak response. I fully suspect BioWare is in the process of humbling itself a bit, as I doubt Hudson has that much of an Ego as it seems the other prodcuers and ditectors did, but this was a chance to really take it in stride, and instead it was a toothless reply in everything but pointing out that they need to do better. I'm dissapointed honestly It's pretty much your typical corporate reply. Read one corporate reply and you've pretty much read them all, including that line which says "press scrutiny only has negative impacts". I mean, how many Government departments or corporations have you heard that from. People keep bagging on people for saying it but Old-Bioware has been dead for years, and imo it's been replaced by a soulless corporation.

No, I worded it that way because at even a hint of a perceived slight against his work he goes in a rant at them about it for not recognizing his genius. Remember the Andromeda drama. I remember the delicious tears of the Bioware fanboys when Schreier called them out publicly for spouting inane bullshit. The number of dramatic "exits" from this forum was a nice popcorn munching moment
