I've seen lots of rants on this. So, can someone explain the generally accepted best method(s) for Hacks (and maybe Uploads, Devices) when playing Platinum and Gold?
Case 1) you have one or more stealth gridders Case 2) no stealth grid, but have one or more tactical cloakers Case 3) none of above
(and maybe if you have a mix & match of stealth grid and tactical cloak)
I think it is generally: if you are none of above, stay away from the circle, draw aggro elsewhere. If you are made invisible by a stealth gridder, you can stay in circle (presumably best to do so, right?), but don't shoot. But I'd appreciate a nice step by step. Flowchart if you like
Too often, it devolves into a chaotic struggle to hold the circle while it seems every single mob in the universe is right on top of you.

It's fairly simple in theory, but execution is where it likely falls apart, especially in a PUG where gear, experience and even language could be a problem.
Hack 1. If you have Stealth Gridders, 2 or 3 players enter the Hack Zone, 1 player stays in visible range but far enough away from the hack zone to draw enemies over to them instead of to the Hack Zone. If enemies persist to enter the Hack Zone, evactuate the zone, and leave only the Stealth Grid player to solo the Hack, they should be aware of best proceedure for Stealthing (whilst in Jump/Out of Hack Zone) before returning so as to not draw attention that moves into the Hack Zone and disrupt it. 2. If you only have Tactical Cloak, all players with Tactical Cloak should enter the Hack Zone and the rest draw aggro away from the Hack Zone. The only exception is if the team happens to be heavy debuffers and hitters, where you can then dps tank the Hack Zone entirely throughout the Hack. But this assumes that the Hack Zone is in a location where this is viable (mostly one direction where opponents come from), otherwise, it may get a bit hairy on Platinum. 3. If none of the above, 2 or 3 players should enter the Hack Zone to get the Hack completed as soon as possible, preferably the three with the best dps. Take down any mobs that happen to approach. The other(s) should stay in relative positions in the most approachable positions to the Hack Zone and effectively act as tanks whilst the 2 or three players in the Hack Zone do the Hack.
Upload 1 and 2. Depending on how confident each Stealther is, they can each take an Upload circle and then let one person take all the aggro. Not easy on Platinum, and if enemies lose aggro on the tank, they will revert to last known locations of the Uploaders, so the Tank will need to resist evading (and hence stealthing) if they are a Stealth unit and just take it all head on. Otherwise, to make it quicker, all the Stealthers can work together on each one and move around to each Upload circle as each one is done, but this puts greater pressure on the Tank, and there aren't many tanks capable of standing against the hoarde on Platinum. 3. On Platinum, if you don't have incredible debuffing ability to kill enemies super quick, your only viable option is to position enough players in front of Upload Circle to aggro most enemies, whilst the Uploader(s) provide support fire. Gold is less of an issue, especially if well geared out as well.
Devices 1 and 2. Let them do it unless you're much closer to the device when it spawns. Especially important on Platinum if it's a bad location (wide open, or multiple entry points). You don't want to try unless it's safe for you to fully disarm the device. If it is not, all you end up doing is dragging aggro to the Device and make it harder for the Stealthers to complete their job with Boss Units and Grabbers nearby (who can ignore Stealth). 3. Give it as much time as possible before rushing to the device, lure all enemies away from the Device as much as possible before heading to the Device. This is to give the person who gets there first more time to disable the device before enemies that grab or stagger (and break the disable attempt) arrive back and attack.

Hack Stealth most important when on PUG platinum hack: jump forward out of the area, keep hovering in air, launch cloak, evade back to hack area. Now the signature for enemies is in air and if you did this right way, you chose the best side where they can shoot into the air and not the side where they rush the hack area Anyway, this was demonstrated by my Canadian friend long ago, and I've been using it since. It works like a flytrap

I’ll add that if you’re playing Gold, focus on eliminating the Boss and mini-Boss units as quickly as possible. Against Outlaws, that’s the Hydra and the two Berserkers and against the Remnant, it’s the two Destroyers. They will not respawn. Against the Kett, the Ascendant and Fiend will respawn exactly once.
Once those enemies have been removed, you mainly have to worry about the Adhis, Wraiths, and Breachers entering the Hack/Upload circles. It’s still not easy, esp. if you have no crowd-control abilities or low-level weapons, but it’s a lot easier when you don’t have to deal with the boss units.

since i mostly play tanky characters (turian soldier in full-tank build or an human with reliquant armor, also full tank build) my methods may vary from other characters (for exemple, don't try this with an asari ). for hack i use the stalingrad method (aka "hold the line!!!" ) and i spamm all my ammunitions, i consume my cobras if necesarry, opspec also. (and, depending of people around, sometime they leave and bring attention away, so i just got few tiny ennemies to handle, otherwise, ally stay in the circle, and at least, the total amounf of firepower is often enough to wipe the waves of ennemies comming) i often shot under-cover with only left click (so, i take only few dmg but i loos some accuracy) for multiple-circle hack (upload it's called?) i see where other are going, and i go in another circle (so, the associal méthod), so that, no matter wich circle the ennemies choose to go, at least one circle will be finished. for the devices, the méthod that i use is the good old fashion "rush B cyka blyat!" i just rush toward the devices, if necessary, i burn an op-spec before beginning to press E, and then, i do it (most of the time, my brute resistance will allow me to finish, and often get away before the death)
