Could be, but that's true of any organization. You could say the same for the Templars, for becoming King or Divine or First Enchanter. Some people put a lot of emphasis on duty and feel bound by it; others are going to follow their heart because being a Grey Warden or a Queen or Keeper is not their whole identity. Really, this is Wynne's whole argument and what she harps on 80% of the time. She's always talking about what she perceives your duty to be, what a Grey Warden "should" be. Foreshadows how you'll have to choose between the whole world and the one you love by the end of the game. "Love is ultimately selfish. It demands that one be devoted to a single person, who may fully occupy one's mind and heart, to the exclusion of all else."

Which usually has me going: Um... Wynne? Are we redefining words here? 'Cause I think your Chantry Circle indoctrination is showing. Love (romantic and platonic both) is, by its very definition, the exact OPPOSITE of selfishness.

I don't think "Love is the Death of Duty" unless you are playing a chantry loyalist. None of the DA storylines limit you by making actions against your LI a matter of "duty". As above, if you are playing as a loyalist then you wouldn't fall for someone whose life and practices go against your sense of duty. You would be revolted by them.
That being said, all your characters tend to have hold a negative opinion of Blood magic, but still allows for a specialization in a skill that draws on blood to boost your own abilities. DA:I being an exception. For a mage character, there is no blood magic exactly, but there is a "dark" specialization. It depends on your playstyle. Even in DA:I, if you do play as chantry faithful, your character should not find someone who uses abilities you disagree with.
I've never been compelled to play as a chantry faithful in DA:O. So Morrigan's use of "forbidden" magics has never been a problem. Therefore killing her when she is my LI is not a thing. The mentality my male warden has tends to make him more curious about Blood magic rather than repulsed. Morrigan is usually my LI as Liliana is not really appealing and Zeveran just doesn't seem dedicated to the relationship.
Morrigan is my canon Waifu. DA2, Isabella. DA:I, Cassandra. Think I'm just drawn to 'difficult" women. Breaking through the icy shell around their heart is challenging. When successful, they tend to be the most dedicated to the relationship.

Speaking of Grey Warden love, how the hell do the LIs not get tainted by having sex with them?

Anyways, same way they don't get sick by just being near them... it's not like the Blight is sexually transmitted (at least I don't think so) it's carried in the blood, so unless said LI starts drinking the Warden's (or a Warden LI) blood I'd say they won't get sick

Nobody stopped Garahel from having a lover. And he was basically all that was holding together the web of alliances he forged.

Warden Commander Cousland and Amell disagree with this prognosis because Alistair is still alive.

It doesn't seem to be an issue for anyone other than Wynne.
Whatshisface turned Justice in DAA was married. Recruit Jory was married, so obviously Duncan didn't care (though maybe he should have). Genevieve from The Calling was engaged....Duncan killed her fiancé which is why she recruited him, hoping he'd die in the Joining.

Whatshisface turned Justice in DAA was married. The name of the Warden that Justice inhabited was Kristoff.
There was also another married Warden in DAA named Keenan. He was the mortally wounded guy in the mines you asked you to return his wedding ring to his wife and inform her of his death, only for the Warden-Commander to discover she'd already been cheating on him with someone else.

Most Wardens love someone - Rica, Cyrion, Shianni, Soris, Marethari, Jowan, Irving, Gorim, Fergus. I'd say they might do their duty at least in part because they love them.

(only reason she became a Warden was because her parents asked her too, they and Fergus are also the reason she keeps fighting)

You know this is about romantic love. Yes but maybe they do it to protect the ones they love. After all one of the duties as a grey warden is to generally protect civilians and their loved ones from the dangers of the Blight. So for me I'd say no and that in fact love can potentially be the beginning of it.
