Haha. Yes, Henry is quite the diplomat. To be honest, why'll I don't believe the current state of the show is the main reason he left, I doubt that it played no part. He is living his best life though, dude just goes from one passion project to the next.

i just watched first episode and i m pretty sure i should stop. first scene with a kikimore (iirc) sucked, i should have stopped there but it s rather insignificant. Acting and cinematography are ok i guess, especially the Cintra royal family. Geralt actor is not convincing/classy enough, but also not bad. It s just the writing that already sucks or i was really tired. I thought first episode (once the season main line writing is established) should be pretty easy to write. So much good material in the game and i imagine far more in the books. Nothing really fits, resolution is rushed and stupid. Or it s just i failed to follow as i must recognize my english failed me a few times.
PS: also "the price of neutrality" is one of the best RPG sequence i ever played, i wonder if it could be made worse

I have only played the games, not read the books, so for me, season 2 was a huge improvement on season 1, which was only 'ok'. People in this thread who've both read and played do hold different views. Based on what some book readers have said; I would say that, if you're a person that believes any television/movie adaption of a book has to be 100% faithful in every conceivable way or it has failed...don't bother going any further. If you're capable of enjoying something on its own merits, then maybe stick with it for a few more episodes. It's not the best thing available out there, but it is far from the worst.

Well to be fair I don't think following the books to the letter would make for great tv, the story and characters needed some fleshing out to turn it into something that is both good and that would also have mass appeal, personally I would've liked to see this as there was a lot of potential to expand even further than just the books. Problem is the writers don't care all that much. And going back to season 2, it doesn't follow Blood of Elves at all, other than some Witcher's were at Kaer Morhen that one time.
I expect the same in season 3, some mages were at Thanedd Isle that one time. Though I'm enough of a Witcher diehard I'll probably keep watching, sometimes bad things can be funny, for instance they butchered Eyck so bad in season 1, but I actually find it legitimately hilarious, and I'm laughing right now thinking about it.
I find it hard not to compare the show to the games, the games can be pretty bad as well in terms of an adaptation, but CDPR clearly cared and that shines through most of time.

I find it hard not to compare the show to the games TW2 & 3 are definitely better than the series. No question in my mind. (I leave TW1 out because I haven't played it, not that I don't think it is good). As for the writers not caring, we'll agree to disagree on that but that doesn't mean I don't think it could have been a lot better. I look to an adaption of a book series I care a hell of a lot more about - Wheel of Time - and the books are far superior to the show. But I can enjoy the show for what it is.

Ep.2 was pretty ok (but i forgot everything already, lol), and ep.3 was cool, as i m now used to SuperGeralt. Writing stays cheap, but at least they played the script of ada's curse ok (which makes a great episode as far as i understand everything) and the actors are good imo ! especially king foltest . I havent played TW3 yet, but i dont feel i ll be spoiled too much

I look to an adaption of a book series I care a hell of a lot more about - Wheel of Time - and the books are far superior to the show. But I can enjoy the show for what it is. Late reply. I was more referring to caring about the source material, though yes, I suppose it is unfair to blanketly state that. I spend most of my time under a rock, and with what little I've been hearing about working conditions for writers on these streaming shows, maybe it is a miracle they produce anything at all. Anyway, back to whether that care or not, as a Toronto Maple Leaf fan, we in the fanbase have a meme we call "The Passion", to me it is clear that CDPR had "The Passion", hopefully they still do, sometimes there work sucked but overall you could feel "The Passion". I've done some thinking about what the goal should even be regarding these adaptions, and how maybe it is better to create smaller stories within existing universes, and then I compare Thronebreaker to Netflix's Blood Origin and it is just night and day difference. And I think well, this group had "The Passion" and this group did not. Anyway, the Toronto Maple Leafs suffered yet another brutal playoff loss, and I wish I didn't have "The Passion". LOL. Speaking of Blood Origin, did anyone watch it? In theory it should've been right up my alley, I found the first couple episodes to be at least watchable, I stopped as it was clear the show wasn't heading anywhere good. From what I understand the show was in production hell for quite a while. THE PASSION THE PASSION THE PASSION

i m done with the second season, and i m surprised S2 was liked more. Maybe cause the main story adavances and kicks more ass. But many episodes or sequences suck imo. The hut vilain arc could have been good, but wtf, resolution makes it ridiculous. Whatever, all in all, it s ok and many good sequences too, just a bit too much ridiculous ones.
