My goal for the end of this current play through is to have my noble GW, who is romancing Alistair, is to marry him and be king and queen at the end. So in order to do this I have to do Morrigan's Dark Ritual, have Alistair do the deed and both of us will survive the fight with the Archdemon? Anything else I may be missing?

I don't think so...that's basically the gist of it  though you have to make sure you have enough Persuasion to convince the Landsmeet of your marriage with Alistair Also during the Landsmeet don't let Alistair duel Loghain, since if he's hardened Eamon will override any choice given and make Alistair King without you you can however duel Loghain yourself or have a champion do it for you, then have Alistair execute Loghain afterwards (I've done this in a previous playthrough) doing so ensures you still have a say in the matter as Anora interrupts the proceedings

See, missing the little things. The last time I played DAO was in 2017 and that was a speed run city elf romancing Leliana. And before that game, a long time. The politics of the Landsmeet, preferably I duel Loghain.
Should or should I not harden Alistair?

Also during the Landsmeet don't let Alistair duel Loghain, since if he's hardened Eamon will override any choice given and make Alistair King without you that is a very important part: Alistair will ruin your plans as a champion. Better duel Loghain yourself and chop his head off yourself + "Persuasion" and everything will be as you planned. |

House Targaryen hm, don't think it really matters in this case  though he is more assured of himself if he is hardened he'll be more receptive of the idea of being King, and won't give as much disapproval if you decide to go through with it though I believe the disapproval is minimal if the Warden decides to marry him
I also suggest reading through this portion on the wikia since it shows how he'll react to certain things depending on if he's hardened or not

I think I've only done a mistress Warden a few times (both times it was a mage), kinda hate how it isn't acknowledged in Inquisition else I'd do it more though my canon Warden is romance-less anyway

as I said, if you duel yourself then Anora interjects when Eamon wants to put Alistair on the throne though I'm not sure if it has anything to do with declaring "support" for Anora (saying you'll support her claim) beforehand

Oh, man. I didn't have such an option....even with the same choices. hm...maybe it has to do with a fix mod I have installed?
I have a mod that fixes several bugs and unlocks cut dialogue choices as well however I looked at the mod in question and can't find the particular dialogues, so it may not be the mod at all
to the toolset!
...so, went through the toolset, but can't find the exact dialogues I did find the lines that fire before it, but not Anora's line where she objects...odd don't have the playthrough anymore either else I'd look it up

In my female HN playthrough, I had 'hardened' Alistair duel + execute Loghain; I expected Alistair to take the throne without the Warden's input because that's what he'd always done in the past with my non-Cousland Wardens, and I was okay with that. (The price of not making meta choices and accepting what roleplay throws my way...) Instead, the dialogue defaulted to the 'Warden decides' path, and I was able to marry Alistair to Cousland. Now, I do use an UNHOLY number of mods, but none of them touch den600_landsmeet.dlg, which is where all the Landsmeet dialogue happens. I suspect there is a gender/origin check somewhere for female HN that selects which dialogue path is used (so Cousland players aren't inadvertently locked out of the marriage), but I couldn't find it in the toolset. *shrug*

Indeed, I never had that oppotunity. Turns out it could be a really nasty outcome for a player: you do this or that, know what you are going to do, but in the end for some unknown reason the desicion you hoped for, can't be made. And it is already the end of the game (though before everything was alright and PTs ended as I wanted). Have to be on guard with DAO I guess. One of my favorite games. Maybe indeed it is better to install some fix mods to get what I really want (but mods also can break the game).  |

Some broke the game, some were good, but after checking I deleted them, just in case...everything can happen (I remember had to reinstall DAO and DA2 5-6 time because of using mods which accordng to comments were good - maybe didn't stack with each other, a modder can't check out everyting). I really appreciate what modders do, there are a lot of talented modders, no arguement here. Still prefer to use what the game offers, but like in this case, there could be surprises even afet 60 PTs.... |

There are indeed pitfalls in modding DAO, and game breaking combinations of mods. I always recommend checking the comments (on the Nexus), searching the Nexus forums for issues, and thoroughly reading any documentation, such as the mod description or ReadMe file.
I'll also note here that there is a popular overhaul of Alistair's romance which completely reworks how the Landsmeet plays out and (IIRC) removes the Alistair/Cousland engagement from that part of the game and shifts it somewhere else.

I'm a retired Baldur's Gate modder so I know a thing or two about modding. I thought about modding Fallout 4 or DAI but I would rather play the games than mod them these days. Besides someone else has usually already created a mod that I was thinking of.
