It's okay for what it is. A vapid first person shooter in a barely conceived world that looks like something that was left on the cutting room floor over the years for various Final Fantasy games, with the coherence of kawaii pikachu worldbuilding. Some other observations: - Your Cypher is another annoying little jerk cliche presented as endearingly quirky. It's too bad you can't get a different watcher persona when you begin the game. I wanted to crush his neck until I stopped feeling things crunch or there was no more noise, whichever came first
- Flying is fun and the movement and combat are reminiscent of ME:A. For me that's a positive.
- It's just another "wear a big suit with a cosmetic ftp moneysink for decor" deal.
- Bioware showed their transformation is complete and now they simply make dry husks with splodeys, call them games and EA charges 60 bucks.
Overall with about 2 hours of play, it wasn't an awful time and it was occasionally fun, but even ME:A had me wanting to keep going to see what happens next. I know Anthem is an MMO/shooter sorta but "the gods left broken things that make big monsters omgz" doesn't leave me caring at all. It's essentially the bare outline of ME:A. And finally, note that I made my decision after actually playing the game for a while and my evaluation could improve or worsen as i play a little further, although I don't know with the slow queue pops if there's really a large amount of people playing any longer. That's just for those who cite Pewdiepie and other youtubers, who consider watching someone play a game in a video to be the same as playing it yourself.

You are more courageous than me. After ME:A, I can't give a dime to Bioware, or EA for that matter.

I haven't been in Anthem for a while, but put several hundred enjoyable hours into the game. Your mileage may vary.

I'm sitting at around 1.575 hours logged in Origin. You can add about 50 more that Origin didn't track in the first days of the pre-launch week for some reason. Still enjoying it and eagerly waiting for the big changes when they finally come. Obviously also waiting for more content and 2 or 3 more difficulty levels.
Also @op: first person shooter? You must have played a different game, the only time you are in first person is in Fort Tarsis
