Thanks to a buddy I'll get a great high end monitor from him and I was wondering if any of those small form factor PCs like Intel's NUC (8 Hades Canyon), MacMinis etc. would be enough to run a modded out MET smoothly and calmly? I'm looking to either buy a pre-built PC or self built one to exclusively play the modded out MET (ALOT, ALOV, EGM etc.) in at least 1080p or more in an as small (form factor), as calm and affordable as possible. My main issue specifically is that I have no idea if those graphic processors or sometimes even inegrated GPUs would do the trick. Upgrade-ability would be nice, but isn't a must. I'm NOT looking for a laptop, regular sized desktop tower, external GPU or to play current high end triple AAA games. Hope you fellow Mass Effect fans can help me

Integrated GPU's will be slower and will run out of their own memory with ALOT 4k. I would not suggest trying to use them. Have a GPU that has 6GB or more memory for future proofing. Those CPU's can run the game. ME1 in 1920x1200 with ALOT + AO + resamping antialiasing will even drop frames on GTX1070OC from 60fps to 30fps (vsync of course on). But it does look very good

Thank you very much. Your feedback is very appreciated! I‘m not in a hurry thankfully, so can wait a bit for new hardware to be released before I decide (example NUC Phantom Canyon or the bigger NUCs with PCIe x16 slot, supports discrete graphics, up to 8-inch card length, dual-slot capable). Despite the disadvantages of the small form factor and integrated gpu‘s (lower performance, high price, low upgradeability) I‘m tempted. NUC Hades Canyon (Intel NUC 8 Extreme mini PC – NUC8i7HVKVA) 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8809G processor Radeon RX Vega M GH graphics, 1063 MHz–1190 MHz which is around a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-RX-Vega-M-GH-GPU.278680.0.html16 GB DDR4-2400 RAM 1 TB NVMe SSD Source: www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/docs/boards-kits/nuc/nuc-gaming.htmlAfaik the whole MET game and cut scenes are in 720p. Does ALOT (4k) allow and scale for „just“ a full HD 1080p mode which is less taxing on the hardware than 4k? About how good or bad would the above speced mini PC run MET with ALOT & ALOV?

That will surely run MET fine, except maybe 1 which is the heaviest of the bunch especially with some eyecandy adjustments. MET on PC runs on the resolution you choose. I think ALOT has two versions, for 2k textures and 4k textures, if I remember right.

muchos gracias. I'll post my experience here for any future interested folks once I have my pc system later this year. Note that if 4K textures are implemented the load times will increase making a SSD or M.2 an absolute must. If small form factor is a concern you may want to look into a Zotac Box or a ASRock Industries Ibox:

I concur.

After checking out Intel upcoming "Gaming" NUCs, looking at a self built NUC and Mini ATXs I originally ordered an MSI Trident 3 (not the big A or X versions), but that order was cancelled by Newegg after UPS returned the package as "dangerous goods"... So 2nd attempt and after selling off almost all my tech-things I went ahead and ordered a Zotac Zbox with a RTX 2070 (magnus-en72070v). If said order arrives, I'll post an update.

Yes, sorry forgot to post about it here, did so in another thread. It's a powerful and versatile machine with pretty much all possible existing ports and runs a modded MET and many other modern games without any problems It covers my computing needs for many years to come. When it gets hot and ramps up the fans under heavy load obviously you could hear it (the case is pretty open due to cooling requirements), but I have my gaming headphones on, so that is not an issue. Sizes wise it's pretty much about the size of an 2 Mac Minis from Apple stacked on top of each other. the power brick is huge, but under the table in a tray so again I don't mind I believe they since revised the models.
