I have not used this game for a long time and I die a lot now because I have locking finger joints , I have reluctantly looked for god mode commands but cant find one.
Also I forgot the answer to this …….. can I only go back to Normandy at the end of a mission , I press N and nothing happens.

What game are you playing and at what stage? This is posted in the Andromeda forum but you mention the Normandy, which is only in ME1/2/3.

did not realise I had posted in wrong forum I am on me1 and then moving on again to 2 and 3 Wel if it's ME1 use the tactical pause feature that's always a good idea anyway when firing off powers in that game. Especially if you don't have particularly quick reactions.

No worries … using Mod Magic TM to move this thread to the right sub-forum … Mass Effect Trilogy Modding, Mechanics and Builds. It will get a bit more attention, plus good advice from folks like sjsharp2010.

Unless you are trying to unlock an achievement for playing on a specific difficulty (such as Insanity), then I recommend lowering the combat difficulty. Drop it Casual if you have to. The lower the difficulty, the less health enemies have and the less damage they deal. So if your finger joints lock up, hopefully the enemies will not kill you before you have a chance to correct the situation.
Otherwise: 1. As sjsharp2010 wrote, use the tactical pause (weapon wheel or power wheel on consoles) to plan your attack and use powers.
2. Hang back as much as possible. This should prevent you from needing to move around a lot.
In driving sections, you can kill enemies using the Mako. Use the terrain to your advantage to avoid fire and then fire back. You can scope the Mako up to 2x zoom, letting you shoot enemies from afar.
For indoor sections, stay behind cover. Indoors, you can open doors and just stay outside shooting from relative safety. There are a few segments where you are kind of forced into getting surrounded by enemies, but you can usually try to kite or lead enemies into a straight line in front of you.
Hopefully this advice helps somewhat.
As for finishing a mission: 1. On uncharted worlds, you need to be in the Mako to exit the planet. Alternatively, you should be able to exit the planet from the map whether you are in the Mako or not. You should be able to access the map from the pause menu.
2. On story missions, you typically need to complete the entire mission; there is no end button. Eden Prime, Therum, and Virmire require you complete the mission before you go back to the Mako. On Noveria, you can head back to the Normandy at any time although it can be a long trek back. on Feros, you can head back to the Normandy at any point until you drop down a specific point in Exogeni building (just inside after you finish the skyway); after that point you must complete the mission before you go back to the Normandy.

The difficulty setting is accessed through the Options section of the main menu in game. Casual is probably as close to "god mode" as you can get. Set your squad power usage to active so that they will use their powers automatically. They will generally blow off all their powers right away upon entering combat, which works OK on casual difficulty since they can generally take out most groups of enemies very quickly without Shepard participating much at all. If you have the option available to "select an existing ID" when starting a new game, use it to re-import an old character of yours that has already completed the game before. That way, you'll start at a higher level and with whatever gear you had whenever you ended the game before.
You cannot return to Normandy during the first mission on Eden Prime or during the mission on Therum (to find Liara) or during the missions on Virmire and on Ilos. During Feros and Noveria, you can return to the Normandy before certain points by first driving back to the space port and walking onto Normandy while it is docked (much the same way you can return to Normandy when it is docked at the Citadel. On the Citadel, of course, you have to have become a spectre and had the command of the Normandy already turned over to you. On the side mission planets, you must be inside the mako to return to the Normandy from the planet.

While the suggestions to potentially change difficulty settings are good, the other option is to enable console and then use the two following commands: GiveSuperArmor GiveSuperGun
