Solo Gold Medal Challenge

Nearly cried when I didn't get the last two medals...

It was the Krogan Sentinel with Graal and Executioner for lore and stuff.

From what I've seen, if a Pyro dies in explosion of its tank shot through the head, it still counts at least towards headshots so it should also count towards the weapon itself.

In theory, wave budgets and targeting weakest enemies do allow to stack up around 300 kills even without objective waves. Bugs are the most tricky in that. In theory.

Edit: I've forgotten about kllstreaks. Those would probably be more efficient when done during objective waves.

Might not be the best choice of character but it was a matter of principle in the end.

Also, learned quite a lot during tries.

I've chosen the one and only biotic turian girl.

Yep, I was hoping Nightshade blades would count as tech kills. Wrong. A test run killing everything with blades only resulted in a 25 kills medal while getting neither tech nor bio.

Sad, but by that time I was determined to carry on anyway so equipped Incendiary rounds for 50 tech kills through fire explosions detonated by Poison Strike.

The arsenal included Crusader and Arc, both with lightweight mods since i didn't really need any damage boost.

During W1 the target were husks (I can confirm there are 44 to 45 of them on budget) killed in melee or grabs. W2 continued with husks but only to get gold melee medal. After i had to switch to cannibals since they were the easiest target for fire explosions. Husks can't be killed wlike that unless they are close to the main target of the explosion, otherwise Poison Strike kills them outright, and the marauders are much more cowardly than cannibals and not as easy to reliably prime since a little more or little less health left means they will be killed by PS instead of FE.

On W3 the objective was targets which allowed some free kills for a shotgun or FE. The last target was left until little time left while I was chasing cannibals for FE. Got a silver tech medal by then.

After that came W4 with husks so it was a fine opportunity to stack up pistol kills.

W5 was the last one to spawn cannibals, IIRC I've got the trickiest medal by the end of it.

W6 demanded hack which I was mostly doing distantly to hunt for marauders for pistol kills medal.

W7 is the last opportunity to chase husks and this time they helped me with gold pistol and biotic kills medal as well as silver shotgun medal.

By the end of W8 I've got the last gold kills medal from cowardly marauders. Have to admit, up until now it was quite a torture to have the murderous efficiency of Crusader and not be able to use it on anything (I only used it on banshees besides main targets to slow them down), but when that last medal ticked, the real fun began.

W9 cleared very quickly, and W10 threw targets again. Well, bad for them then. Incendiary Crusader along with (finally!) Nightshade Blades took short work of everything.

The final kill count was much higher than the necessary 300 since at least two additional husks were killed in melee when I allowed them to be grabbed (was trying to stop banshee at the time), somewhere between 10 and 20 enemies, perhaps more, were killed by Inci DoT which doesn't count as weapon kill and besides there were two full waves of enemies to clear and then some unlucky ones on extraction wave.

Can't say for sure how many lowest-tier kills can be done against other factions but I'm almost sure there will be enough to get medals against them as well. Reapers leave more room for errors.

Oh, killstreaks. Those are my weak spot as a lot of time I've spent hoarding enough enemies together for a guaranteed strike. Contrary to my previous suggestion, these might be easiest and most effective to get by targeting the last five enemies of a wave when its budget is spent (somehow there are exactly five of them for most of the waves).

I suppose, that's the whole report. It surely is more compact than a video recording of the process would've been.

The build used in this specific run is a little respecced version of my usual one. Bar the weapon loadout. Ammo is Incendiary IV for the first one and AP II-III for the second.
