That was almost my setup. I used the melee stunner, piercing mod and warp ammo, with power amp gear. As I said, it was fun, but a Krogan without a Claymore or Graal just feels wrong to me on every level - possibly even straying into pyjack territory, but then I am something of a lore-purist!

They also have one of the best dodge and melee animations. Love the Vorcha Engie. Raider + Incendiary + AMIII = 

YEah, that's a good one. Also like either of the Biotic God banners. But nobody messes with a MONSTER

It was exactly that kind of thing that resulted in me having at least 3 anonymous alt accounts on PS3. I loved having the freedom to surprise, if not downright troll higher ranked players. MaxCrushmore was the king of alts, but I'm sure we ran into each other a couple of times without actually knowing for sure. Lancer KroDept must be fairly obscene, in a good way, but creating a persona based on Grunt is like a millstone round my neck sometimes. Shotgun + Omniblade or GTFO! And as for q5tyhj and his Venom, going to the bother of hiding that behind a spoiler was comedy gold. 

Yeah it definitely has its issues off-host, especially with charged shots. That's why I host like 99% of the time, so I can Venom (and Vanguard, and Dark Sphere, and GPS, and Siege Pulse, and everything else in the game that sucks off-host)

Also, off host venom is charged all the time in my book

APIV and BE spam on boss targets for plat, plus no one uses the Shaman. I'll use the Wraith if I want to Incendiary cheese. Shockwave pretty much works on Xbox so BEs are consistent. On gold I spam barrier/melee/BE bosses with whatever shotgun needs completion for the banner.

Well, shotguns are king in this game imho, in terms of variety and feel. Pistols? Eh - not so much. To paraphrase GruntKitterhand , a Krogan-Pistol setup seems more like finesse. Something I would say in general about all pistols.

I just prefer big/heavy/bulky over finesse. Hence shotgun mastery is double that of pistol mastery. The bigger the better. Yes, it is perfectly legit for a Volus to run around with the Javelin. Maybe I'm trying to compensate for something?    .

As far as pistol use, nothing new here with the Arc and Talon completed every time in all 19 pistol masteries. 3 kits are pistol kits 99% of the time: Paladin because, well Paladin-Paladin. I don't know who came up with Hengie/Carnifex setup but that has been the standard issue gun for years on both vanilla engineers.


As far as banners go, there is only one to rule them all. All the cool kids rock the BotB banner because they are the bestest of the bestest.

I have to actually play again to see how many completions I have per gun, on the HQ I can only see 30 overall PM and of course the current points for each. Would have been a nice little thing to add, but that bridge washed out years ago.

Edit: I see Eagle. Missed it because SMG tag. Al pls. Is Arc Pistol also an SMG? What SMG buyer would want an Eagle with it's ridiculously slow RoF? (A smart one, but I digress)

I need to use sniper rifles more?

Like lars said shotguns are king, I really have to force myself to use anything else. ARs are a ton of fun though and also have a lot of variety, much like shotguns do, and I'm a big fan of them even if some are more niche than practical. What I'm not a fan of is sniper rifles, which is a shame because in basically every other game (PvP or Co-op, or single player shooters) I generally prefer sniper rifles and shotguns are total trash, especially if you're more than 10 feet from a target.

That's one thing I never understood from game devs: how can I snipe with a pistol from any range, but a shotgun from the same distance is straight dog poo? Shooting a pistol is a total crap shoot from like 10 yards away (I'm being generous for some rounds too) when 00 buck would probably kill from 50+ if a pellet hits. Bring slugs into the mix and your talking at least 100 yards if your sights are good. Man shotguns get no love, except the pre-patch Akimbo 1887s from Modern Warfare 2 those were stupid good; though I preferred the M1014.
