I know you needed it for xbox 360 but do I need xbox gold on xbox one to play ME3 MP and andromeda MP for that matter

Yes, you do. For both games.
However, there is a feature on XBOX One that allows a person to designate a "home xbox". If that owner person has Gold, anyone other account on that XBOX could play MP (Gold) games. I've done that with alt accounts I made, basically to restart my ME3 MP.
