I would assume them speaking up again would likely be a precursor to them getting ready to make major changes to the game; as outlined by Casey Hudson. With that being said, how long do you think it'll be before then? I'm gonna take a guess and say it'll be November/December before they start speaking up again.

But as far as things we can tangibly see, I don't see that happening till the end of the year; at best.

I hope they do continue ANTHEM, but I would like to see more variety in terms of the seasonal stuff, a larger map, greater ability to explore.....and of course a continuation of the story.

Playerbase is actually growing from what I can tell. New players joining the discord. Also a lot of players just head for a different game and eventually come back to Anthem to either just play a bit because it's fun or to see if there is something new.
My guess is they won't launch a major update that changes a lot of things and mechanics until they feel certain it's good and maybe even have players test it. And then do a new marketing campaign, maybe make it free to play and have it released with the new consoles or a while after. Might also not be before the 2 year anniversary next february until we see Anthem 2.0 launch.

2021 at its earliest.
With major conventions cancelled and Gamescon on the chopping block (imo) + the "new normal" (ie: job losses, economy tanking) I really doubt Bio will announce anything new until the situation "normalizes itself".

Don't mind me, just passing through, seeing how it all points out to 2021 for Anthem 2.0, as I've talked about before, to say "I told you so". It gets tiresome to be right all the time. Ah well, what can you do.

So you knew about impending pandemia before everyone else? Because it certainly affected their schedule. Far from it. I was talking about the original schedule and now people are arguing whether it will even make 2021 at all. Unless the remote work thing catches on and Bioware gets restaffed by people that want to work for Bioware, but don't want to move to Edmonton. That would be an interesting turnaround. Apparently, location is a deal breaker for a lot of talent. Frankly, Im worried that it might actually cause it be canceled. Well, if it helps, EA is wrapping up support for Battlefield V this summer. And it was the game previous to release to Anthem. There was a 3 month distance between the two, so I'd not expect any news on Anthem 2.0's cancellation before July, but I've not heard anything about Anthem 2.0 getting cancelled. Hopefully it stays that way.

If they're smart, they'll capitalize on the pandemic to justify any delays or even cancel it. After all, EA's just pulled the plug on BFV and that game was certainly more popular than Anthem.

Mark Darrah seemed to point out that his team (the Dragon Age team) is still able to work on the product, though likely in a more limited capacity. I imagine the same to be true for Anthem. I wouldn't deny that it is likely harder for the Anthem team since they're probably a smaller group now, and since the game is largely online-only, it could also mean that IT/Server problems that need fixing (in-person) likely need held off till the pandemic clears up.

Communication is secondary atm imo. They have a lot to figure out and a lot of work to do on the game so ... let them work It was always going to take them a couple of years to get things into shape : )

I don't even think they would have to plan for it, with how close the hardware is now for PCs and Consoles they could probably just tweak it some and release for the new consoles. I don't expect anything flashy for Anthem 2.0 when its released. I do wonder what might happen for PS owners, for with the Xbox and PC they might just allow people to use the game since this is being billed as an overall and not a new game release for a PC is a PC and the Xbox is really good at its backwards compatibility. edit: Going forward I doubt there will be a lot of communication, there really isn't anything to report especially since they are taking the approach of more then just tweaks and hopefully something will work <looks at Destiny and The Division>. Then you look at all the people that took the report and found ways to make into more then just a heads up which it was for me I just don't see them wanting to make the press regularly when they don't have anything to report.
