It takes away from moments when the character is emoting and having a heavy moment. Like watching someone have a meaningful heart to heart in a film but one of the characters is wearing these goofy sunglasses. But it makes sense for Jack, who is always trying to hide her more emotional, vulnerable side. She wouldn't want you to notice, or even know its there.

Sure, but of course this isn’t really by design in the base product, since this is just a player choice in an appearance pack. I can’t imagine Thane would feel the same way, even though he can wear what looks like Matrix glasses while he’s having his Drell flashbacks.

Hey, everybody! More news! The unannounced ME remaster may get unannounced from its October announcement, to be left unannounced perpetually, until it eventually gets permanently announced to remain unannounced. Because it's not happening.

I'm sorry, but rumors or not, I'm not so very excited about this. EA has become so corporate that they care less about quality and more about making a profit. I understand wanting to make a profit, but creating good quality games should also be a priority. Is that how they want to be remembered: making a profit by producing bad games? I mean, look what happened recently with Madden 21.
It's a damn shame. I know it's BioWare, but it's still under EA's flag, which casts a shadow over everything, so the remaster might be half-assed.

Because it's not happening. My stance now is since Jeff Grubb has been constantly altering the date we are going to hear about it, his claims the remaster is coming is no longer trustworthy. If someone else makes the claim then I will entertain the idea it might be happening, even though I still don't fully understand why for I don't think it would get a positive reception and fall flat like Andromeda.

If true when they make the official announcement they need to be crystal clear on what they are doing to the game to try and mitigate the people with big dreams what might happen. Not to mention making sure if its not BioWare doing it they say it is being done by a third party.

Exactly!
I mean why delay the announcement? I can think of few reasons:
1) Is it just another case of Covid-19 causing more problems. I mean most people would understand.
2) Isn't because it's just a glorified graphics update and nothing else and they know some, if not a lot of the fans aren't going to like that? An announcement would hopefully get clarify what people can expect and not expect. Maybe it convinces some people not to buy it, and others, like me, who are on fence to buy it.
3) Are they waiting for the launches of the PS5 and XSX? Which would make sense because the last time they released a game on 5 platforms didn't work out so well for those who couldn't afford a PS4 or XB1 at the time. That also IMHO hurt DAI because they couldn't take full advantage of the power of the XB1 and PS4 and had to downscale the game quite a bit.

IMHO hurt DAI because they couldn't take full advantage of the power of the XB1 and PS4 and had to downscale the game quite a bit. That was true of all cross-gen games of the time. Other games did it better. It also afforded DA:I to reach the biggest market available to it, in a very long time, with a hungry, growing customer base on the current gen hardware and the peak population of the old gen hardware. Bioware chose to do so and whether they failed or succeeded is on them.

It was a huge hassle on top of the compromises they had to make, and then the sales on old gen wound up being ridiculously low, like less than 10% across all old-gen platforms.

I could be remembering wrong, but I think he also has said that they wouldn't go the multiple generation route again either for those reasons you mentioned.

The better way to look at it is three to four years after the last release. So if Dragon Age is released in 2022 it would be 2025 or maybe 2026, but even then its really hard to base it on anything, the reason for these delays was that BioWare added a new game into the mix so everything was pushed back one cycle.

If there isn't going to be a remaster, I'm happy with it on PC with mods, which essential remaster the game in their own right. If there is a remaster, it's more than likely just a simple upgrade. I love this trilogy, but I doubt it will be anything as substantial as Shadow Of The Colossus on PS4. It may be something like Assassin's Creed 3 remastered, or Batman: Arkham Asylum/City on the current gen consoles. If its more then a simple remaster it would then be moving into the remake territory. A remaster is just using the base content an re-releasing it pretty much with maximum settings. Doing anything else requires them to go back into the source code and start making changes. Even just making use of new graphic technologies would require them to move to a newer version of Unreal and making all the changes needed to get the game to work there along with doing the programming work in the game itself to call upon the new technology.

So yeah, not really holding my breath on this one. If that's really the case, then it's more fitting for people who play Mass Effect on the consoles (especially on PlayStation).

I gave up PC gaming a long time ago and never have regretted it. There are plenty of great games on the PS4 like: The Last of Us: Remastered, The Last of Us Part II, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Final Fantasy VII: Remake, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, God of War, Kingdom Hearts III, and there are others that are on both the PS4 and the XB1 Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Life is Strange: Season 1, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Transformers: Devastation, and many more. Even the mods are now on consoles Fallout 4 and Skyrim: The Special Edition allow player based mods to be used the consoles. Even Assassin's Creed: Odyssey allows player created stories to be played on consoles.
Throw in the XB1's backwards compatibility and I can play every BioWare game released on console from KOTOR all the way to Anthem as well as the remastered editions of Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 on one platform without having to jury rig my PC to do it. You can play KOTOR and Jade Empire in 4K if you have a XB1X and a 4K TV. I replayed the MET on XB1 and a lot of the graphical problems with ME1 especially are gone (except when I played Pinnacle Station which was always a piece of shit DLC and the worst DLC of the series IMO) and there was no disc swapping on ME2 and ME3 I still got "please inset disc 2" message but it quickly loaded the quest.

To be honest I'm not really happy with the PC. I thought for a bit, and now I have decided to stick with consoles for gaming and limit my pc for other things like art. Deep down I just want to sit on my bed, face my TV with controller in hand and relax. Just bought an Xbox One S, which should be coming soon.
