Now that Mass effect 2 and 3 are both out of the way, I have only ME1 to platinum so I can be done with the trilogy. I have eight achievements left. 1 - finish the game on hardcore 2 - finish the game on insanity. I wished to beat both at throphies same time with an insanity playthrough, but apparently ME1 will only let you raise difficulty one level at a time. Go figure... 3 - lift mastery 4 - warp mastery 5 - singularity mastery 6 - stasis mastery 7 - AI hacking specialist 8 - neural shock specialist So most of the achievements left are due to the fact that I always play as soldier. So, they are not much of a challenge, most people get them without much work; but from where I am standing, it's just busy work, what is a shame. I could combine much of the effort by playing the hardcore and insanity playthroughs with new classes. But sound kinda risky doing that exactly when I'm ramping up the difficulty. I know I can do it as a soldier, with my high level fully equipped character. Not so sure if I have to be, I dunno, a vanguard, or an adept, for the first time. Safe path will be very boring, because it will entail at least 2 more playthroughs with the soldier, and than some more gameplay - not necessarily all the way - to get the extra powers. As themikefest pointed out, you can rush through just the the primary missions on Hardcore and Insanity with an existing character. You should be able to complete a single playthrough in about 7 hours, so about 14 hours total. (Note that this is a rough estimate based on my own experience starting from level 1 on Insanity, doing only primary missions plus Rogue VI.) As for the extra powers, you can start Adept and Engineer playthroughs. Note that you do not actually have to complete these playthroughs; you only need to play them long enough to unlock the achievements. It will take several hours though. General gameplan: 1. I believe you will have to at least become a Spectre and the get back on the the Normandy. (This is so you have a high enough level and have enough points to unlock the required talents.) 2. Put at least one point into the powers you need; do not put points into Charm or Intimidate. Alternatively, do not spend your points right away. Make a save, so you can put all your points towards certain powers. Make a second and third save accordingly (different saves for different powers if you need to. for example as an Engineer, a build to get AI Hacking or a build to get Medicine.) 3. Go to any mission > save before a fight > start the fight and use your powers > reload save. Repeat until you unlock the achievement. Note for AI Hacking, I recommend Feros since basic AI Hacking only works on Geth Troopers. You start Feros with a fight almost immediately against a bunch of Geth including Geth Troopers. Getting the achievements for using powers 75 times is tedious if you are only reloading saves constantly to use the powers once each time to get the achievement. If you do it over a full playthrough, it takes longer but is not tedious. Note that a full playthrough will take 20+ hours which is a big time commitment, so 40+ hours if you do both Engineer and Adept. I recommend getting your achievement unlocks by save-scumming first, then do your Hardcore and Insanity playthroughs since that will be more enjoyable and palate cleanser. Regarding build advice, there are some ME1 builds in this thread. capn233 also has levelling guides for each class, linked in this thread.

Safe path will be very boring, because it will entail at least 2 more playthroughs with the soldier, and than some more gameplay - not necessarily all the way - to get the extra powers. So I have two questions: Is there a minimum percentage completion of the game for unlocking the difficulty achievements, or can I just ignore most content, and shoot straight for the main missions to unlock them (what would actually be interesting to do once, feel an extra sense of urgency with all filler removed). And do you guys have build suggestions for characthers, or strategies that I can use to grab those throphies with the minimum amount of playtime required? Thanks In avance! You need to do a hardcore and insanity run, and with those achievements, you need to do Adept and Engineer (since the relevant bonus talent is unlocked with those achievements).
Red already covered this, I am repeating due to happy hour I guess.
It would probably be easiest if you did Engineer for the hardcore run, then Adept for insanity. But as pointed out, if you have those characters you can do New Game +, which is a lot easier early game than starting from level 1 on those modes.
The power achievements just involve using those powers a zillion times, and are pretty simple to get in a playthrough with the right class.
Engineer is arguably the weakest of the classes in ME1, mostly because it doesn't have Barrier or Immunity and is stuck in light armor. But you can get very high shields, and you have decent powers. Also decent medicine talents if you want to go that way. Really though you just have to focus on high shields getting Master Electronics (Overload) and shield boost. I prefer to take Assault Rifles as the bonus because I like having two weapons I am competent with.

This is really bizarre.
Entered my gamerscore today, and the insanity achievements are marked as locked on ME3.
I saw the damn things unlock. Bizarre. And I'm completely sure I saw the gamerscore in 100% right after I unlocked them, because I reviewed the dates of my first and my last achievements to gather the time difference.
I've heard of achievements not unlocking. First time I hear of one locking back.
Ah, well; I know I did it. Guess that will have to be enough.

I was thinking about what might have happened with the achievement thing, and figured it was likely that some internet connection had dropped me out of the xbox live when I unlocked them, so maybe they unlocked in the console but not in my profile. As the game, after all, resets to before the Cerberus base, I thought I could simply unlock them again, after all, I didn't change difficulty after endgame. But I was ready to move on for other games for now (having done a full trilogy playthrough), and decided to delay replaying those levels to my vacation time, which should be in a couple of months. Nevertheless, it occurred me yesterday that I might have a save state already in the crucible, so I could skip the banshee bonanza. So I reinstalled the game to see if I could get them back playing just the starchild dialog. To my surprise, despite not having communicated to the web, the game recorded the fact that I had unlocked them, and now uploaded my 100%. Problem solved, but now I am curious. Apparently, there is an achievement database in the console that is independent from the both the internet and the save game (unless the save game was kept despite me deleting the game files). Even the completion date - 16/08/2020, was correctly recorded, despite the upload registry having happened half an hour previous to this message. It's very weird, I really was expecting that the files deletion with no internet connection would have caused the loss of the data. Do you guys have any notion on how this record keeping works? Really curious now... Regards .

Ps.: Also, out of curiosity, I decided to see if I could load a save bypassing the final combat missions. Turns out, I apparently could; there is an autosave restarting the mission "Citadel: the return", which both by reasoning and by the thumbnail for the save file, is the part you start after killing Marauder Shields.
I would have to redownload all my dlcs to be able to load it, so I won't confirm it because now I don't have to, the achievements are unlocked in my internet profile (so the 15gb of the game were enough just to make the achievements pop up, no need to download all the rest of the content). Still, good to know my plan would have worked.

Today, I decided to advance my "completion of ME1" plan.
Looked for some shortcuts online, and got all my missing power mastery achievements. Took about 6 hours.
Now, just 2 playthroughs, on hardcore and insanity. Played just Eden Prime for now, fully equipped specter gear, on hardcore, and it was a piece of cake. Let's see how difficulty will evolve until the end of the nightmare run...

Just an update; Finished getting 100% on ME1 earlier today. Guess thread title should have been 11 trophies left, and a couple of plans. It was the most boring, because of the kinda outdated gameplay, the amount of roadblocks bioware put on the way (really: increasing one difficulty level at a time is unjustifiable to me) and, curiously enough, by far the easiest of the three on insanity. Full specter gear is waaaay overpowered in that game, with the exception of the crazy stunts you have to pull off on pinnacle station, because there you do need it. Anyways, original trilogy out of the way. Should I try to platinun Andromeda too? I have it on Playstation, and recently I started a new PSN ID, so it would be starting from scratch on that one. Even if I decide to platinun on my old ID, it would be 16 achievements left, more than the 13 I had pending on the original trilogy (yeah, Andromeda didn't get the same love as the other ones, for obvious reasons), but it is doable, because they are all achievable in single player (I hate MP trophies, never go for them)... Regards .
