so, I've heard some people have had this kind of a game freeze as I'm now getting (on my backup laptop win7), that does not fit the standard retaliation glitch scenario:
I get to MP just fine, lobby fine or join friends fine, but once the game starts (or if joining GIP), my game freezes in the first few seconds or within perhaps half a minute. And I have to kill the program from Task Manager. Peculiarly,after restarting me3mp, this repeats once more the exact same way. However, after the 2nd restart, I can join GIP just fine or go into game normally. 
Do you guys/gals have any ideas what causes this and/or how to fix it? I'd appreciate any hints - or link to some fix (couldn't find suitable ones on the forum's search either).

Do you use the new Origin status mod? I think that removing it helped me.

Do you use the new Origin status mod? I think that removing it helped me. I don't know even what that is. ---edit: oh, it's the asi mod. Hm, I don't think I have it on this laptop.
but also, what is this sorcery?? -> After asking about this problem here, I went to have a few games.. and for the first time in weeks, I did not have any problems   ..hoping I'm not jinxing it by writing this here. We shall see later today.

Thanks for the inquiries. Ok, updates finally after having a few games today: (yeah I did try a clean reinstall earlier, didn't help). I checked my modmanager just in case, and indeed, I did have that status asi installed - has been a while since played on this old laptop so didn't remember. So, burningcherry , you get the Achievement of Helping a Damsel in Distress  . I disabled it last night and tested once today, and no join-freeze detected! Thank you for the helpful advice!  Oh and another symptom I noticed earlier about it, in case someone has the same problem: it only affected offhost joining. In my own lobby, no issues. |
