Dragon Age The Joyguard (formerly Hype Train) [Spoilers]

It's a good chance to get another run of the previous DA games in one more time. I've been doing a DAI run the last few weeks and am about to start Tresspasser.

I'm about half way through DAI, just completed DAO and DA2, but I'm running out of steam. Not sure whether to keep going or just read through the wiki before Veilguard. It's been a lot of fun replaying, but I forgot how big DAI was compared to 2!

To cut back time, you could run a save editor to remove the power barrier and steam roll through on easy. I did this often to experience all the various paths and options.

Yeah good call, I just started my first DAI playthrough in probably a year or two. Enjoying it more than I have for a while, and its purely fueled by DAV hype

Speaking of hype, I can't decide which I'm more excited about: the combat and gameplay (which looks fucking incrediballs) or the story and lore, since it seems like we're really getting deep into the stuff that I find most interesting- the backstory of the Blights, the Old Gods, the Evanuris, etc etc. This wait is going to be really painful.

Technically nukes are a type of bomb, just on a magnitude greater than we'd expect. That being said, I used that one since while the revelations are huge, they for the most part are things we have been theorizing about rather than aspects we never expected.

Take the history of the Archdaemons; while the Elven Gods secretly being the Archdaemons of Tevinter history has turned out to be false, the Evanuris still have ties to them that is being clarified and have turned out to be even more significant than expected, esp the relation the Evanuris have to the Blight in Ghilan'nain's case.

I figured way back when Trespasser was first announced that we'd probably see some of them but I didn't expect an entire campaign centered around them.

I'm about half way through DAI, just completed DAO and DA2, but I'm running out of steam. Not sure whether to keep going or just read through the wiki before Veilguard. It's been a lot of fun replaying, but I forgot how big DAI was compared to 2!

DAI is definitely a monster of a game, finally got all the shards for the first time in my last playthrough. I don't know if I will ever do that again. But there is no better way to both get hyped and take off the edge of waiting for a new game than going back and playing the older games in a series.

My DAI play was interrupted by the game crashing. Seeing the GPU hitting thermal limit was the reason, again, so I think the crust is embedded into the fins of the gpu and I would need to clean it. I was playing around with a DA name generator, and when it gave me “Ermengardis Carnifex”, I was like… yeah, I can’t.

Usually, I’ll get a character’s name or potential names, only when I lock down a look in the CC and concept and everything… it’s like, a whole process. I’m finding it a little more difficult now with the faction surnames, ngl. With the exception of “Thorne”, perhaps.

In my current PT of the series, I ended up with Kara, Tara and Zara...because I just didn't want to use Kara for all 3. I am very low effort with names. :whistle:

And I think that Ermengardis Ingellvar sound cool.

Small confession, all my DA characters have variations on the same name, Alexandria Amell, Alex Hawke, Alexia Trevelyan, and I am running out of options because Alexa? Hell no. RUINED. I'm going to have to peek onto a reddit babyname starterpack thread for some unexpected letter replacements.

Though Alix de Riva might work??? Alyx Thorne? I'm actually finding myself considering a background based on surname rather than backstory.

Maybe the addition of a random name generator will free me from my confines.
