I don't know about the use of the word 'comeback' when talking about atrocities such as you're describing, but are you condemning baldy without even giving him the chance to attempt any form of redemption? Redemption or forgiveness does not mean endorsement or an escape from consequences. Yes, I am since again there is no redemption from genocide. But he hasn't actually done any genocide yet? Right?

There is no redemption for genocide. Lighting wasn’t redeemed since he was forced to join. Killing yourself isn’t redemption. As for Layla, I more expect her murdering her friend and an asset to the cause in order to get her next fix being ignored if anything. 1. I agree the lighting has sucked in the DA franchise, but I wouldn't say it was beyond redemption. All they need to do is turn it up a notch and things would be a lot nicer. 2. For many cultures, suicide is an approved method of atonement. 3. Layla murdered no one. She just dumped George for EricFinally, there is redemption from genocide. There is redemption for anything other than despair. Just FYI You may believe that there is no redemption for genocide, but others have disagreed, do disagree and will continue to disagree with you on that. I disagree, just so you know.

Yes, I am since again there is no redemption from genocide. But he hasn't actually done any genocide yet? Right? Well there is his first time playing God, as well as his being an accomplice to those like Corypheus. He's now guilty of also at least millions of counts of conspiracy to commit murder, and shouldn't be given the chance to go beyond that. There is no redemption for genocide. Lighting wasn’t redeemed since he was forced to join. Killing yourself isn’t redemption. As for Layla, I more expect her murdering her friend and an asset to the cause in order to get her next fix being ignored if anything. 1. Just FYI You may believe that there is no redemption for genocide, but others have disagree, do disagree and will continue to disagree with you on that. I disagree, just so you know. 1 and 3 are just trolling so not going to honor those with a response. For 2, none of Thedas's cultures have that mindset. As for redemption from genocide, by all means give me examples. Hanako Ikezawa If you could have any conclusion you liked for Solas, what would you pick? First, stopped before he hurts anyone. After that, some poetic justice like being sealed in the same inescapable prison with the other Evanuris for all eternity.

I understand you have concerns, but I have to say I don't share them. I'm a sucker for a comeback story and warm happy feelings are what a hype thread is all about. Concerns? I’d say the mass murder of countless innocent people goes beyond mere ‘concerns’. I’m concerned about how they’d make that a comeback where they and people endorse such atrocities. Unfortunately, people like him instead of liking to hate him (as a villain), so no efforts will be required to make the comeback arc work. Players see him as a misguided lamb they can fix, instead of the wolf in sheep clothing he always was. Also, I think many have already labelled him as not guilty (despite him technically already causing a genocide a long time ago + Corypheus) if they succeed at stopping him...and BioWare doesn't have a great record for handling attempted crimes.

I forgot about his pre-Inquisition history, I tend to base my judgement on his actions in the game. I think I need to replay DAI before DA4 so I can refresh my memory. Especially about the Solas/Cory connection. Hanako Ikezawa If you could have any conclusion you liked for Solas, what would you pick? Oh that would be hilarious

I'm a sucker for a comeback story and warm happy feelings are what a hype thread is all about. I mean, even aside from that... he may technically be the “rebel” god rather than the trickster god, but he is for sure pulling some some weird Trickster God shit with all those half-truth villain monologues. I mean, this guy shows up to shadow Inquisition meetings just to twirl his metaphorical mustache. He can stalk people’s dreams, and instead he takes the opportunity to throw on a wig and conspicuously not drink tea in front of an Inquisition agent who’s known him for years? No way that dude was spying, he wanted to be noticed. His whole villain schtick seems more and more like an elaborate show for some third party. Or, knowing the Dread Wolf legends, probably multiple third parties. Plus, the text of that same story makes it very clear that the people who got killed/petrified were all jerks. Why bother doing that if there isn’t some reveal coming?

Actually I asked for something similar for Morrigan, but what if, in the middle of one of his patented non-answer monologues, some random elf walks up, slams a custard pie in Solas' face and walks away saying "Mythal sends her greetings".

I’m not sure how BioWare would even finagle this kill-all choice. Like, I just want to kill Solas, preferably with a giant magical club on his egg head. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want to beat a single elf like he owes me money and stop his magica-Thanos fade snap whatever the hell it is he’s trying to do. I like to have the main character be given the choice on how to kill the elf. Mine would lure the dog with a steak laced with poison. After eating it, the dog starts gagging, then dies. Or how about putting the knife ear theory to the test. Cut off his ears, then stab him to death with them? Either way, I believe Solas will end up screwing himself when doing his hocus pocus stuff. His plan backfires causing him to be banished, but at the same time releases the evanuris for the main character to deal with. So anything you all are looking forward to? how many long hair styles will be in the character creator screen what upgrades will each class receive that is different from DAI? Besides Solas and possibly Dorian, what other previous character will be seen in the game? fighting more and bigger dragons. Hopefully there will be dragon fighting in the game. If the Inquisitor makes an appearance, will there be a confrontation between him/her and Solas? I’m picturing your PC dancing around Solas, tied to a chair, while Stuck In The Middle With You is playing.

Hanako Ikezawa If you could have any conclusion you liked for Solas, what would you pick? Force him in the qun. Make him tranquil. Become a Warden, if he survives the ritual. Make him wear a jester outfit like making Florianne de Chalons wear one in DAI. Hang him, then rename The Hanged Man to The Hanged Elf.

Hanako Ikezawa If you could have any conclusion you liked for Solas, what would you pick? some poetic justice like being sealed in the same inescapable prison with the other Evanuris for all eternity. So, you're advocating that he suffer, forever... that's pretty dark. I mean, if the punishment fit the crime, perhaps he would suffer for all of the lifetimes of every victim, direct, or indirect, from his actions... I think I could accept that, as it seems fair, but 'forever' is not any sort of justice, it's just cruelty.

I don't really believe in the whole poetic justice thing. If he has to die just kill him, if he has to be imprisoned then let it be to remove the threat he poses to society.

It would teach us a valuable lesson about immortality. I’m sure he can figure a way to check out early.
