Poached eggs, I love them!

Homemade tacos (soft or hard shell) are my favorite dinner and strawberry cheesecake would be my #1 dessert, with ice cream coming at a very close second.

I am currently making a large slow cooker pot of chili.

I have no standard recipe for chili, it is usually add whatever you have on hand kind of thing.

Today ingredients will include:

Ground beef
onions
fresh and canned mushrooms
A large can of stewed tomatos
A can of baked beans
A can or red kidney beans
some salsa
some hot sauce

To expedite things a bit i will sautee the onions and mushrooms and cook the ground beef before putting in the slow cooker.

I may add some beef stock if I feel i need more liquid.

So... this is sort of a food/beverage/everyday question but also a science question, I guess, but... for most of this past summer, I've started putting my 1½ litre/50 oz soda bottle (plastic) briefly in the freezer before drinking it. Reason being stores in my country don't chill the bigger bottles, so it takes a while to get the level of chill I prefer. I usually give them around half an hour in the freezer before drinking it. I only freeze it the first time after buying, and don't re-freeze after opening the bottle. Here is my science/foodstuff question, then:

Today I bought a bottle, but since it's a small combo fridge/freezer, I put the bottle on top of (closed) bag of frozen peas. The cola now tastes like peas! How?/Why It's one thing that taste travelled with the frozen condensation from INSIDE the bag (made from soft plastic) of peas, to the outside of the bag of peas. But did it then get through the hard plastic of a bottle of Pepsi that I only stored for like 30 mins in the freezer?

(Oh god, it even smells.. smells like peas. And because I can't resist... yeah, it tastes like it, too. Super weird combo taste.) So, anyone have an explanation how the taste "rubbed off" through several layers of plastic between the two products?

And clean the freezer.

3: If you drink 1½ litre Pepsi Max a day? The neurotoxin they use to sweeten it, has finally got to your brain.
4: It's only that bottle, and the pea taste doesn't come from your bag of peas. That's just a coincident. There is something wrong with the bottle. Don't drink it. (General advice: don't eat and drink stuff that don't smell and taste right.)

My goodness I love sauteed mushrooms. I fry up a pan of garden onions and mushrooms to put on some burgers I am making.

there are almost no mushrooms left as i keep going to the pan and grabbing mushrooms to 'sample'

I do my groceries online. I checked my order before the closing date and noticed that I probably ordered the food on an empty stomach. It was way too much. So I cancelled a lot of food. Now I will be able to eat what I ordered.

The groceries will arrive tomorrow.
