When you are talking about mission time and how it is distributed it does. Because driving around Therum is still part of the mission. Driving around on Casbin isn't really part of the mission. I don't count the time from the drop off point to arriving at the base to do the mission because that driving isn't actually a part of the mission. Meanwhile with Feros the driving is part of the over all mission. And much like a job they don't count travel time towards your over all hours. So if you take 10 minutes or 30 minutes to get there you still only get paid for the hours you are in the store. Driving to random mine or building is just as much a part of the mission as driving to the ruins on Therum, so I do not understand your logic. Spending time driving to a mineral or other anomaly because it is part of a secondary mission is just as valid as driving to a destination on Therum, Noveria, or Virmire. It is all part of the mission. But I feel like we are just arguing semantics at this point. Either way, I am willing to cordially agree to disagree. Have a nice day. On Feros we are told to get in the Mako so we can fight past the Geth invasion and get to the company building. On the random worlds we are dropped into a semi open sandbox area and told to explore. This distinction isn't semantics when you take into account that ME2 removed this aspect. So you are deposited right on top of an old falling a part ship and told to navigate the crumbling wreck to activate the distress beacon. Rather then dropped 10 minutes away and having to drive to the wreckage before you can start the mission. While the mission in ME2 might only take 5 minutes the fact you have to drive 10 minutes in the Mako to reach it in ME1 would expand the mission time to 15 minutes even if it only takes 5 minutes.
But agree to disagree

Well, there's obviously a difference in the implementation, since the driving sequences in the main story missions have combat and UNCs typically don't until you reach the destination(s). And implementation matters if the argument is that the UNS are kinda crappy relative to the actual game. By saying "actual game" there I suppose I've given away my stance. Honestly, I blow off most of the UNCs these days. They never really made much RP sense in the first place -- why did Shepard even order the Normandy to those systems? We have a trillion credits to spend, we sure have to spend it right: cutting edge stealth frigate retrieving 5 kg of platinum. Unless you roleplay it as a turian-human joint venture and the planets are in salarian and asari territories, and a stealth frigate is the only vessel that can acquire precious minerals withou causing a diplomatic incident. Even better if this minerals are more rare than usual- eezo infused maybe? Or we could jist put it on "game mechanic" tab.

Why does harbinger talk smack to shepherd. - It fears shepard - Psychological reasons, intimidation. - It is more than just a machine. - the ones who made the reapers come back as a space brat for goodness sakes so they say they try to do things that humans can relate to. These things are not toasters Or it's simply a stupid game design. I think it was supposed to be intimidating. It ended up being a meme and a joke. Harbinger could learn a thing or two from Sovereign. Sometimes silence speaks louder than words. Sovereign barely talked to Shepard. The responses were basically dismissive, like Shepard and the crew are too stupid and not worth talking to, and basically hanging up on you so to speak. This made Sovereign intimidating. Sovereign was basically in control of the conversation, and whatever Shepard replied felt like throwing pebbles at a mountain. Harbinger on the other hand is like a stalker that is mad at you. He's constantly following you around and whining in your head. It does not convey any sort of power, dominance or intimidation. The roles basically flipped, where Harbinger is the one throwing pebbles at mountain Shepard. It's yet another example of ME2 being inferior to ME1. Using intimidating words doesn't make you intimidating. "I will show you true power". "We are your genetic destiny". "Face your annihilation". Uhuh. Sounds fancy. But it doesn't do anything. It's the dynamics that determine whether someone/something is intimidating or not. And ME2 completely fails at this with Harbinger. I think most people plays like you. But a subset of players really impersonate the character. I generally tend to impersonate the characters I play. At the same time, I'm nowhere near as mad as many people are about the trilogy, and definitely not about ME3 and its ending. The overall value of the experiences across the trilogy are more important to me. And I'm one of those people that ranks ME3 above ME2. I do think ME2 ruined what ME1 had set up, but that's another story, and despite all that, I still like the trilogy.

But it is a bad segue to ME1, and even worse, a horrendous prequel to ME3. If I had unlimited resources, I would either remake the trilogy with ME2 first, and/or remake ME3 as a two part game, the first part until Thessia and the second part dedicated to discovering the Leviathans and destroying the Reapers, without the need of the crucible and the Catalyst.

Here's one way ME2 could be first. As far as unlimited resources. Here's a thread asking what people would do if they were rich and had the rights to ME.

Repeatedly engaging Shepard in personal combat and failing at it wasn't a good look for Harbinger either. Even though he's just playing with expendable drones.

My take on Harbi is he's the chief attack dog of the reapers, not the Intelligence behind them. He may not be aware of the reapers' larger goal of preserving organic life, nor does he have to be. As far as he is concerned, the goal is to destroy and harvest lesser beings. So his malevolent rhetoric may just be part of his personal "process." Sort of like... Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction. Which is just fine, because part of my personal process is to shoot him in his smug face with a shotgun. Feel this, m*therfu%#@r:

Yeah, I saw that. But I never heard most of them. I think most of them are used, but only some of them register while playing. When you're in the middle of gameplay, it's kind of hard to keep up with everything Harbinger says, because, you know, you learn to ignore it quite early on. Example (not my video); He's pretty much constantly talking... Try listening for it. The first ones I hear from the timestamp are; Assuming control We are Harbinger Your attack is an insult Nothing stands against us This hurts you I always survive We are the Harbinger of your destiny And that's in like 30 seconds. It's crazy how much he rambles. Then it continues; We are assuming control You will not stop me There is no pain, there is no fear Assuming control of this form The dead are useless You cannot sustain your attack This is true power If I must tear you apart Shepard, I will This form is irrelevant All that is said in three minutes. And that's not counting the times where there were no collectors in play for Harbinger to possess. So yeah... Feel free to listen further in the video. I'm sure you'll suddenly hear a lot more lines that were definitely said but you simply ignored during gameplay. All that talking is more a minor annoyance that is indeed better off ignored, and that is a weakness, since it takes away from the intimidation of Harbinger.

^If you turn off the mood music, Harbinger's constant jabbering is more noticeable. He definitely has a very high level of enthusiasm for his assigned task, and an ability to maintain a singular focus despite being repeatedly shot in the face by Shepard and his crew. But... he might be happier if he had some other interests. A pet varren maybe? Or some Rachni larvae?

I mean the entire idea makes 0 sense to try and make a Reaper while the rest of the Reapers are still in dark space. Harbinger was trying to make a girl/boy friend.

Iakus makes a great point. As he usually does. Let's be honest, if most of you would just adopt his views, then the forums would make a lot more sense.

I saw the Mudskipper picture used by online game magazines announcing Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Clearly one got it wrong and it has spread among writers, journalitsts not understanding it is artwork from next version of ME.
I guess, we will see this a lot next months and bringing confussion to a lot of people.
