Patch 1.6 is called the "Edgerunners update"....available today (once the stream is done). What is in it: - Roach Race video game is now playable in-game...and available on your phone too (fully free, no microtransactions). - tie-in to the anime (jacket and weapons + easter eggs stuff + new gigs) - wardrobe aka transmog - resculpting at ripperdocs - cloud saves supporting cross progression (i.e. play the same save on PC and console) - more in patch notesThey have more features planned for future updates but didn't want to say too much (Cop system revamp and melee loop mentioned). 1.6 is the last major update for the old consoles. Also, expansion teaser. Phantom Liberty, coming in 2023...about joining NUSA???. People wanted a "Militech story" branch, looks like they are getting a whole expansion instead (sorta, Militech is very much behind NUSA and the current president is a former CEO of the company). ---- And with that I'm going to restart again I think...after I checked the new hairdo and stuff thought.

azarhal - For your latest save pre 1.6, did you have any mods installed? If so, may I ask which and also if you had any issues loading your save or noticed anything broken? I have CET installed, mostly to get rid of the intro movies but also I take advantage of the console occasionally now that I have done it the hard way a few times. I have a V with an unresolved story, and would like to check out these new quests without having to make a new V. Just checking in to see if that was an issue for you, also would be glad to read any first blush impressions you may have.

Who the F is Mr BlueEyes I keep reading about? The biggest conspiracy theory of Night City! He shows up in the Peralez quest and the Sun ending (he's the one who send V into space do an heist). He is probably one of the blue eyes "reptilians" Garry the Prophet is ranting about and there is some references when doing Sandra Dorsett quest too (the one post Heist, not the intro). I think some other quests/text mention him or at least "blue eyes" or his "employer": Night Corp. The theory is that he's part of what is really controlling Night City (Night Corp) trying to boot out the other corps and/or that he's a rogue AI... In the Peralez quest? Dont remember him there.

I have a V with an unresolved story, and would like to check out these new quests without having to make a new V. Just checking in to see if that was an issue for you, also would be glad to read any first blush impressions you may have. Sorry no mods, it was a fresh install from like two weeks ago and I didn't bother installing mods yet. I had no problems after the patch installed outside it reverting my custom dodge button. Even the download of the patch was like 12gb on GOG (some people are reporting having to do a full redownload). One "bug" I saw might not be 1.6 related thought. My UI was saying I had 32k eddies so I decided to go buy the Optimal Camo. I went to the wrong ripperdoc first, but I installed other stuff. Once I got to the right ripperdoc, it was telling me I didn't have the money despite the UI telling me I had 22k eddies and the cyberware being 16k. I saved and reloaded and I had 10k less money. Some UI update didn't happen there or I was ripped off. I haven't played 1.5 that much, so my impression of 1.6 probably include 1.5 stuff. Like vehicles feels way better to control now than what I remember, but that's a change that started with 1.5. But now in 1.6, breaking doesn't make you go in reverse...that was annoying. I really like the wardrobe feature. I love the cloths in the game, but the upgrade system was a PITA which made Fashionpunk hard to do. Now, I can make the "outfits" I want. People are going to complains we only get to make 6 outfits and that the wardrobe is only accessible in the apartment. But that means I have another reason to go back there once in a while, it's not just about sleeping for a skill XP buff anymore. Also, the clothing preview at vendor is nice. Roach Race is exactly what you expect by looking at it in the stream. It's available a little everywhere too. The Street Kid intro has a functional one if you want to try it fast. I hope they add a few other mini-games like that and functional Pachinko machines in future updates. I've been finding the 1.6 new weapons (not iconics) a little everywhere. The new smart gun (Kappa) and Cut-o-Matic seems to be sold by vendors, but I didn't buy them. I looted the MA70 HB and a neurotoxin knife (I like the look of those knives). Gang goons in Watson pre-Heist drop the new claws and razor a lots as well. Clothing vendors don't have schematic or legendaries anymore it seems (the two I visited didn't), this could be a bug. I wish I found the new shotgun thought, but alas, no luck so far. I don't have access to the new gigs on my current character, since those are all post-Heist. No nibble in photo-mode either. That's also post-Heist. I haven't tried the Nekomata, but with the sniper rifle scaling change and me not investing in Reflex, it's probably going to feel terrible even if it doesn't move while charging now. That's one thing that seems commons with their rebalancing since 1.5: weapons scales a lot more via attributes. Like my katana was two-shooting things at level 3-4, but by level 7-8 it hit like a wet noodle because I didn't invest in reflex. My shotgun and hammer thought, with zero perks, still hit like trucks because I've been raising Body. Slaught-O-Matic now cost only E100 (down from like E630). I was tempted to use it for shit and giggles. I forgot, I don't feel like I have lower performance with 1.6, I've seen people complain about that...all settings are maxed too. In the Peralez quest? Dont remember him there. At the end of the quest, when you talk to Peralez, he's overlooking your conversation from another building and you can scan him. I think he's also under optical camo near the AV during that quest.

Looks who made it to the major league! Or at least who think they made it to the major league just because they can get into the oldest of NC bars... Nash and Panam were there too, please tells me they don't spend a month in there waiting...because V ends up at the Vikky's Garage Hospital for weeks after this mission.

Do you have any ray-tracing related options enabled? Because I have a beefy machine and it still can't run the game with maxed out settings plus ray-traced reflections and ray-traced lighting. I have to turn down a couple settings and even disable ray-traced shadows and local shadows in order to get any decent frame rate. Do you also have the crowd density on high?

No Ray-tracing, my card don't support DXR (AMD 5700 XT, you need a AMD 6000 series for it, I just validated that... ). Crowd density is on High. I don't use dynamic rescaling (or the driver built-in rescaling of AMD) either. I just checked my AMD Adrenaline panel and my avg FPS is 136... Also, I'm on July drivers (*updating*) So Ray-tracing might be the culprit... edit: I'll tell you next week if performance decrease with Ray-tracing once I get my new AMD 6700 XT I just purchased on Amazon.

I have to turn down a couple settings and even disable ray-traced shadows and local shadows in order to get any decent frame rate. Do you also have the crowd density on high? This is explained by what this patch is for. This is the final patch for last-gen consoles. It was focused, on the technical side, on optimization for those machines. There is a common code base for the game regardless of console/PC, and when they change something for last-gen it results in people with good systems paying a price. I expect that there will be another patch for us and the current-gen machines that gives us back a little of what has been taken from us. However, for now this is the price we pay for being part of a broad community that doesn't all have lots of money to throw at a super-potato. The game has some issues with RTX implementation as it is - the "flashbang effect" when getting out of your car, leaving a building, etc, is a result of the RTX lighting conflicting with the game's exposure system. We get to watch this battle too often, and hopefully it can be addressed in a future patch cuz it really bugs me. I have mostly played this game after 1.52, so maybe the changes won't be as apparent to me.

I don't even have lens flare on which I what I suspecting was causing it at first, but nope, feature is off.

So after the Mr. Blue Eyes conspiracy, Garry the Prophet, that conspiracy theorist radio host and a bunch of other things that just makes me wonder WTF is going on in Nigth City I discovered the big rabbit hole that is FF:06:B5... Also, I'm starting to think that the game might be a simulation... I might be going crazy...

There since release and nobody has solved the mystery of FF:06:B5. Mile Tost said it was solvable since launch as well. It's a code written in plain view on some "Buddhist" statues. It seems related to the Zen Master (a quest line I have never done, so far) and maybe Misty since she has similar codes under her tariffs. There is a wiki and sub-reddit dedicated to it.

I learned some of that following my really lazy question, but thank you for answering in detail and providing more information than I found in my brief gander. I have completed the Zen Master twice, and I have a fuzzy recollection of this MAC fragment. It is quite a mystery as it is still not solved, so that's fun. I had no issues loading my 1.52 save with CET. I have not installed RedMod yet, but it is a pretty sweet modding suite they gave us there, so overall I feel like the game has reached a good place and is worth the "AAA" label, for whatever that's worth these days. It is a good game, still flawed and not as incredible as it could have been, but modding with full VO and scripting support is simply huge. I feel like I might cook something up, because I could make the game better for me and others. That is fun. Cars seem to 180° much better/tighter, Caliburn can do it on a dime. Have done the new gigs, haven't used the new Iconic from the gig yet. Found one of the Edgerunner bits, a BD of this dude that Reyes knows something about. Should be interesting. This will give me enough reason to finish this current playthrough, then I can let it go until the expansion comes. CDPR, despite being full of shit like every other publisher these days, actually seems to have their heads screwed on correctly again. They are making good decisions about their IPs and future games, they have cross-media going with a second TV show, and they have supported their god damned game for more than the bare minimum contractually obligated (stares with burning intensity at EA).

The city looks as good as ever, but now that I have it on my mechanical drive those zippy load times are gone. On my SSD it's easily the fastest loading game I own. I noticed some NPCs still don't respond properly to threats and it's always going to annoy me. I can't wait to see what they do with the revamped cop system, melee and vehicular combat. Also, I've noticed stealth seems much harder after this update. The enemies seem to notice me more effectively and from a greater distance. I am playing on the hardest setting though. The new guns are really cool.

So I restarted my Street Kid V (again) to fix the cloned citizen issues I had. I'm not seeing any with this character so far, what a strange issue, not idea what caused it. I'm pretty much where my previous one was now and doing stuff in Watson to get money and street creds to buy cyberwares/a new deck. I went to Jackie's offrenda, got my tiger claw tattoo and my neighbor Barry committed suicide (I get bored if I redo everything always the same way). New V, similar look as last V...different cloths (because drops are randoms) Night City Greatest Mystery!!!

Weird. I’ve done the Zen quest once (and completed it), but have no recollection of this.
Confirmed to be a partial MAC? Or is it potentially something else? Map co-ordinates? Regardless, with the sheer volume of hours played of this world wide, the fact that it is still unanswered is just great.

Regardless, with the sheer volume of hours played of this world wide, the fact that it is still unanswered is just great. It's not confirmed to be anything outside that there is a secret there, it's solvable in any language, there since release and obvious once the answer is found. It's like an ARG inside of the game. A really hard one...or people are looking too deep into it. Some even tried datamining... The relation with the Zen Master is that he sometimes hangs around the statues with the code and other monks pray in front. And there is Misty and the hex of hexes with similar codes (that maps to the attributes panel with a 90 degree rotation!) + her interest in the Zen Master. If you do all the cyberpsychos and send them to Regina, she apparently ends up with two tiny version of the statues too. I'll have to test that one to see if it's true...but it makes sense to me that the monks would be the ones doing treatments to cure cyberpsychosis. At first people thought it was related to the color magenta since it's the code for it, but going down the rabbit hole of codes/MAC/etc seems to be a dead end. Someone is now down the rabbit hole of the shard at Misty's under her statue, the one with horoscopes that seems to point to quests in the game...

So the VST-37 Pozhar shotgun, it's good. It's more like a slow firing short range rifle the way it shoot/reload than what you expect from a shotgun, but I did a double headshot with a single slug at ~15-20 meters distance...despite having only 100% headshot multiplier. I'm surprised it doesn't require body 10 to use since the other Techtronika weapons do (the Burya and SPT32 Grad). And I'm sad it doesn't have an iconic variant (and neither does the tech shotgun). We need more iconic shotguns!!!! If you do all the cyberpsychos and send them to Regina, she apparently ends up with two tiny version of the statues too. I remember seeing them on the front desk of her office the very first time I met her. It's possible the person who claimed that was so far down the rabbit hole that they were seeing things everywhere!!! I'll go check if they are there, since I'm still early in my PT. edit: She has two tiny Kabuki's statue (Misty has a larger version of it in her shop), but I had the impression the person was talking about the statue with the sword and the code and not that one.

The obvious question here is - Why did you do this to yourself? Was your SSD crammed full and you needed the space for a newer game? I am a bit of a storage whore, so if I need more storage for games on my gaming PC I have issues, but would just upgrade to a larger ssd or another (my case could handle one more), and move my old drive to another machine. If budget is the constraint, I understand. Otherwise, needless masochism.

Why is the Maelstrom bar bigger than the Afterlife? Also, I can dance there! Somehow none of the Maelstroms are pissed at me for killing their gangoons everywhere in Watson, including their last two bosses (I blew up both Bricks and Royce). It's the first time I set foot there, I never realized there was a bar/dance club there in my other PTs (there is a lots of stuff I didn't do in my previous PTs). I now have a heap of Eddies, over 100k...which will disappear fast once I rent some new apartments or purchase cars. I still only have Jackie's bike, the starter car is still not fixed, I don't remember it being that long. I prefer bike anyhow, you can cut through the traffic easier. It's not as bad as at launch, but too many NPC vehicles still stop for nothing in the middle of the road or get "stuck" at intersections. I've done a bit of a tour of the clothing shops in town to find some nice threads. I like that there is a button to sort by "isn't in your wardrobe" on the vendor UI. And while I was in the city center area, I realized I barely visited the place on previous characters. I also found the Edgerunner anime Guts shotgun and...Holy Molly, that's some crazy recoil. It also sound like some military grade canon. Quite the contrast with the VST-37. Takemura has been very annoying, I don't remember him calling you so fast in my previous PTs. One of the things that annoys me with the storyline, everything is "come to me now!!!". You barely have the time to go from Japantown to another area because Goro is already ready for the next part of his plan. Calm down dude. At least he's not aware that he's been waiting for days. I also have to go visit Cloud and I haven't set foot into the Afterlife since the Heist planning night. I'm debating which apartment to purchase. I read that Nibbles and the iguana aren't following you so that's annoying. I might just redecorate the started one. ---- Something about the FF06B5 and monks stuff, some people have suggested that a full none-lethal playthrough might be required since the monks are against taking lives. I'm almost tempted to restarted again, ahahah. I've been very into exploding bodies.

My new V -
Going with Street Kid for this one. I still find it strange how V doesn't know Jackie with this lifepath though.

Why is the Maelstrom bar bigger than the Afterlife Because you have to be soooooo cool to get in there, and there's not enough cool people in NC to warrant a bigger bar Something about the FF06B5 and monks stuff, some people have suggested that a full none-lethal playthrough might be required since the monks are against taking lives. I'm almost tempted to restarted again, ahahah. I've been very into exploding bodies. Sadly the monks are not into "fun" - non lethal of that section only. At least he's not aware that he's been waiting for days. He's so bossy and demanding He's probably sitting up there all day and night, out in the rain and all. I honestly made him wait forever last time. Tied up so many loose ends before I got around to doing his quests.

Started a new playthrough after a year since my last, and I am amazed at how much they have improved things. I know a big part is me owning a nextgen console, but I love all the additions and fixes they’ve done.
Really hope they add NG+. Some of their issues I get, but others are easy like keeping level/skills/etc. Speaking of, hope the expansion raises the level cap so we can max out all attributes if NG+ isn’t a thing (if they do hope they raise it so we can get maxed out in those playthroughs).
And really excited to see what the NUSA/Militech route will provide in the expansion.
