The Game Awards - Chat Thread

I love how everybody is talking about the upcoming trailer and nobody is talking about the awards xD I feel it reflects pretty nicely the current public opinion of gaming journalist publications and what they think

Oh God if they vote for Genshin Impact for best RPG ...

I’m maybe basing this on nothing, but the Executor stuff also seems potentially concerning. They’re giving me really powerful “cultists of eldritch gods” vibes, due to all the ocean theming and the fact that they’re... well... executors (and eldritch gods love having their cultists do stuff when they’re dead).

That plus the existence of the Cekorax, plus the Qunari leaving the northern continent for Reasons(tm), plus the fact that we still don’t know what the Void is... I don’t know. It all strikes me as classic cosmic horror shenanigans.

Maybe I’m jumping to conclusions and slandering some harmless sea-enthusiasts, but I get scary vibes from them for sure.

I can start using "Squamous", "Amorphous" and "Non-Euclidean" again...

I am so over-excited that I woke up at 6:15 and have already finished everything I needed to do today. Which is just as well, since I plan to fill the rest of the time with a combination of high-pitched shrieking and afternoon naps.

Now, if the guy mowing the lawn outside my window could just go away in the next ten minutes, that would be perfect ...

The guy mowing the lawns, or waterblasting the driveway, or tuning the engine of his stupid car...never goes away.

I'm pretty sure it was a marketing joke. They were promoting upcoming games by "awarding" them in advance.

But there was a music award before that?

Well, they did thank the original composer in their acceptance message at least.
