All of those are indeed horrible. And yes running Norton Kaspersky and {McAfee -yikes!} is like lighting your PC up like Christmas tree. I personally believe something different now compared to when I ran my security suite. Maybe its just a discovery of time or -I don't know. It seems if you eliminate the adware and spyware trying to get into your system a lot less viruses and what not make it in. So its mainly Anti-Adware and Anti-Spyware programs that I mainly run now. Specifically SpyHunter5 -not the ransomware one (got to be very careful which you have). I also use SuperFreeAntispyware -I know its not a malware detector but I don't use it for that anyway. So far virus free -at least according to Malwarebytes -which I have not run in months. Hey Vanguard. So Step 1: Uninstall Chrome. Completed using REVO Uninstalller Pro. Step 2: Right-click Test: Green Light PASS....No Delay of any kind. Other Steps to be completed later.....Willl Keep you posted. Ok. Good. Another new hard drive is not something you want. BEFORE you change anything else leave as is for a few days and see if return happens. If not -then its solved. If not go on to the next item. Remove it and do the waiting game. Sometimes its the simple things that become the most complex.

Sometimes its the simple things that become the most complex. The behaviour has not occurred since using the wireless mouse and my Razer Keyboard in the front mounted 3.0 ports on the case. I am hesitant to use my G502 again or the EVGA mouse even in the front ports, because I honestly feel that the G502 was causing that problem, and the X17 had separate issues of its own as far as I'm concerned (those may be addressed at another time, or may not *shrugs*)....But for now I am going to leave my system as it is with the wireless MX Performance Mouse and my Razer BW in the front ports. This is a good set-up and it's working just fine. Thanks Vanguard.

Yup, now I could watch it, thanks again. It just looks like someone keeps pressing the back button on your mouse This is precisely what it looks like. The behaviour has not occurred since using the wireless mouse and my Razer Keyboard in the front mounted 3.0 ports on the case. I have a theory what might have caused this, but it's pretty far-fetched. I hope that solved it though. If not, remind me of the theory.

A small update. I finally got my 2TB Samsung 990 Pro. I got it for $219, so I ended up paying about $90 less than I originally preordered for. The drive already had the latest firmware. Now we just need more games that support DirectStorage.

Remember this: -Old KBM and Orico HDD carry over to the new PC -> One of them has to be the culprit It's either that or a software glitch. I'm thinking the old keyboard did it. What if the KB was actually badly broken, like the 5V wire was shorting somewhere it shouldn't. That could easily break the USB controller on your new MoBo. What makes this far-fetched is that it would be quite the coincidence: Bad KB -> causes back button behavior -> New PC -> bad KB breakes something -> causes back button behavior

Hi Rewind....The Razer Keyboard has worked perfectly since plugging it into the front 3.0 ports on the case; I have yet to try the red 3.2 ports on the back of the motherboard. But I don't think it's the keyboard....I'm still leaning towards the USB, either the port or the drivers. OUtside of that, I really have no idea.

USB, either the port or the drivers But how did your new rig inherit the problem from the old one? For me, that is the question, and that's what the theory tries to answer.

That's the question we have been asking you. If you can't find it, this issue will keep coming back even if you get a new motherboard, keyboard, mouse, or whatever.

Kinda think it may be Windows related...because it happened on my X99/6850K machine and now it's happening with my 10900KF/Z490 build...even with new-ish peripherals.
Around when it happened the first time with my Z490 build in the summer of 2021, I took it back to Canada Computers for an analysis because Windows was corrupted. They did a complete tear-down and I asked them "did you notice any weird flashing behaviours with the browswer or other Windows environments?"
They said "No, not at all"....so now Im wondering if considering all the newish stuff I have that I have troubleshot....If it is not USB related....It has to be something in my copy of Windows.

You can always download a fresh copy of Windows installation media and reinstall Windows, but I don't think that'll fix it either. So far, you're the only person I know that have this weird issue. I just hope it's not a malware or virus.

I've tried just putting new Windows installs...When happened in the summer of 21 I even had a Rep from Microsoft call me all the way from Malawi and he installed Windows 2x, completely fresh, clean, new copies.....and nothing worked. Noted. It is just that sometimes a corrupt Windows install can have weird issues... I do question whether its worth trying to find the issue since your system seems to be working correctly now. Though I do know the pain of how not knowing something can drive you crazy and just GOT. TO. KNOW. And in that case -since it happened on the old system and carried over to the new system... It would have to be something that carried over -be it software or hardware. I am more inclined to believe the latter than the prior but doesn't mean it can't be the other or even a combination of both. As far as hardware goes I believe that there are only four things that you carried over right? I believe that was the KB, Mouse, HD Dock and the one or two SSD's? -I look it up tomorrow -Its late -if you don't respond first. Your easiest narrowing solution is to take these hardware carry overs and plug into that laptop of yours -WITHOUT INSTALLING ANY software. That means the KB software, MOUSE software, HD Dock software, HD software, extra-browsers and ARGB controls and whatnot are NOT INSTALLED. Then plug the laptop into the wall and let it run a few days non-stop and see if they cause an issue there. IF SO then its hardware and it can be narrowed to just those things. IF NOT then its software and you can isolate by installing one software every few days and see the results. Either way you take it -if you choose to accept the challenge of finding the issue... Welcome to the exciting world of debugging -I am sure you will love it here.

You never did try those things with the laptop before right? If you are doing this debugging... If so going back to what I said earlier try one item at a time added into the USBs of the laptop instead all at once.

Well the one thing remember trying with my laptop is... ariund the time it first started happening....it mustve been April of 21 (and the problem started on my X99 platform with my oroginal G5 Gaming Mouse in February)...a rep from EVGA said "Ive seen this before, try plugging the mouse into a differrnt PC."
So I grabbed my laptop because it was close, I did and instantly...no flashing. I relayed that to him, and at the time, he contunued "it's Logitech's software...something about it doesnt play nicely with Windows especially when you get a new automatic download/install from Logitech and have recently had Windows Upfates. Try deleting the software"
So I did....and it worked...Problem solved.for a while.
That was the last thing Ive done with my laptop as far as this issue is concerned.
As I said....I rarely, so very rarely, use my laptop.
But the issue doesnt happen on my laptop and I use the same browser.
Only on my PC. I'm going to try switxhing the MKB from the front 3.0 case ports....to the red 3.2 ports on the back. But it's been perfect while using the case ports with my wireless rodent and Razer BW...no issues of any kind.

But it's been perfect while using the case ports with my wireless rodent and Razer BW...no issues of any kind. I would advise just leave the mouse as is and try the keyboard with the laptop then FIRST. Were the red ones the ones you used before? Also what is the exact model number of your BW?

Good morning, Vanguard. Ive never used the red 3.2 ports on my motherboard because I figured I didnt have anyrhing that would make use of them....Until now, and since my MKB are working with the 3.0 ports on my case, I thought I might give it a shot....But perhaps.after I test the Razer BW Keyboard on my laptop as sugguested.
As for the exact model.number....I have no idea. I would have to look it up and get back to you.
Cheers.

I ask about the model number since some BW models use a type C pass through instead of a fixed cable. I doubt it would be as easy as a bad cable -especially since its working in a 3.0 slot. It may just be your system gets weird going backwards compatible for some reason. Faulty Keyboard maybe? It works but the cable is lemon quality. Again this is just supposition till its solved. Its better not to speculate till certain. This feels like that corruption thing I dealt with years back -it took me several installs and months to find the culprits. But now it does not repeat. In other words it may be arduous now but it will make it better in the long run.

I replaced my "gaming laptop" with a Lenovo Yoga i7.
So glad I did.
"Gaming laptops" are a scam.

Not surprised. This should be something everyone should be made aware.
